Hey guys does anyone have a very, very old CYOA where it lists 8-10 options with stats below them. One of the options is a physic that escapes an underground facility, another is a guy who turns into some monster and is telepathically linked to 2 others of his kind, and another is called the observer that is immortal but cannot interact with anything while gaining the power to travel anywhere he wants.


I could be wrong about a few things but last time I saw it was years ago. I'm currently writing a story and want to use it as a reference.

I'm going for almost a maximum nature build, with lots of animal stuff, though I can still make it to the main village if I want to. Gonna waifu the monstergirl and give her one of the bracelets so I'll always be connected to her. I probably find her when a lamb gets lost or something and I have to go get it.

Rural Japan. As an asia person this would probably be something I'd enjoy. I would like a bed instead of a futon though. Although for years and years as a kid I slept on a mattress on the floor so I guess I can get used to it.

Fur Mantle. I'd like to try to domesticate, or at least befriend, a few animals.

Bronze Bracelets, probably going to need a few friends. Especially if Some of us are exploring nature. We'd like someone to find us if we get lost.

Ragged Doll. Children are helpful and the most observant. And children become adults. Make friends with them while they're kids and I'll have a solid set of friends later on when I'm older.

.... None of these are exactly niiiice. The High Walls I guess? No particular reason beyond the possibility of something cool beyond it.

A guardsman I suppose? Free guard friends. Everyone wants to be friends with the guards. Right? I'll hang around people and go exploring on my days off.

They call her the Morning Pearl of the Frozen Sea, Argenta. Established as the secluded Royal Academy about three hundred years ago, it quickly became gentrified as nostalgic ex-alumni returned to live their golden years on it's calm golden hills. The city turns gold as the many palatial marble estates are illuminated by the gentle, slow marching sun. Long days, and long nights perfect for romantic dates and deep slumber. Excellent yet costly cafes and rotisseries.

A small mountainous range and a series of hills dotted by thick, strong ancient trees guard Argenta from the raging northern arctic winds. To the west lies the Frozen Sea; multiple surprisingly thriving ecosystems are to be found beneath the slowly moving glaciers thanks to a combination of hot currents, coral reefs, and subaquatic lava veins. The city itself is built atop these veins, making the very ground warm and it's multistoried basements cozy, and at times suffocating. Like a reverse river, the veins end up merging at Dragon Hill, a dormant volcano 50 kilometers east of the city. To the south, a small cove and gentle port and beyond that, the wilderness. There are a few sea routes that make arrival by ship easy but the return voyage a thorny business. And with no cities nearby, terrestrial travel to the mainland is suicide. Still, every month at least one merchant makes the journey to Argenta and, having made an astronomical profit from his goods, usually decides to rent a room or a palace and retire comfortably.

Local cuisine is heavy on fish, veal, berries, algae and bread baked in underground ovens. Merchants bring plenty of spice. Argenta receives huge stipends from the Royal House. She doesn't produce anything but the elite academia that keeps the country running. Every 5 years, students will start building the ship-caravans for their voyage back to the country. They will cross the glaciers of the Frozen Sea in their mobile houses, living off the fish and hearty soups. Upon arriving to open sea, they cannibalize their caravans to construct a massive barge to return to the capital. This is their Graduation exam. If they succeed they will live as part of the bureau's elite, administrators, master surgeons, generals, royal guards, etc. If they fail, well , the whole generation fails. This return voyage takes 3 years, under optimal circumstances.

True, that doesn't really sound much better. But I feel there has to be something to make it more than just a regular camping trip, I mean, surviving out in the wild is literally the hunter's daytime job. The environment on the island could be made more dangerous, but that would just turn it into a Co-op adventure.

Other than that, conflict could be introduced by fighting over some kind of ressource. Maybe food is scarce on the island, such that it's theoretically possible to feed everyone with perfect distribution and rationing, but people will be naturally inclined to hoard and fight over it. The conflict then doesn't have to be with the intent of killing someone, so they may only fight to intimidate the opponent, but sometimes end in death.

Or it could be some not necessary, but unique and valuable third ressource that can be found on the island, maybe with some special extra rewards for the people who gather the most of it. This means you can generally just try to keep your head low and be relatively safe, but the ambitious people will start fighting over that stuff.

This town has a Hellenic Seaside style in an Mediterranean climate which is over looking the beach front with islands a little off in the distance; theses islands house the fairy groves. You can some time see their glowing lights at night from the Siren's Overlook.

There are plains in between the rolling hill; quite a few of theses hills are caved by dense enclaves of Primeval forests. Caves also littering the foot of them and some of them can lead to crystal caverns. But some of the caves do lead else where; some might lead to the Catacombs Depths or others might lead to a Endless Abyss.

My home is a cozy stone cabin on the village border, it's nice and peaceful. The cabin is on top of a hill and the view of everything is just stunning, you can almost see the hole filled High Wall with the forest of Decaying City from there. It's quite an important spot because it's really a guardsmen post to watch over all the farmers that dot the plains on the other side of the hill.

(Fuck it It's late and I can't think of a way to include the rest of the stuff in an more interesting way)

The village is the only inhabited city in the middle of endless mountains and swamps. The cold weather and the rains, tempests and snow often menace the people of the city. Most of the batiments are abandonned and mysterious factories and laboratories are often seen in the center of the town among rubble and rusted warehouse.

Electricity still work in some building but no one know where it come from. People who try following the wires often end up lost or having to stop, due to the wire going inside impossible tangle of metals and concretes.

Most of the inhabitant live in the southern border of the town, due to the center being a veritable maze of unstable, ancient buildings. The border is far less modernized than the rest of the city and many houses are made from salvaged scraps and from the rare trees who grow outside of the city. Some people live in the other parts of the outskirt but not much. I was proposed a logement at the higher flat of one of the still intact southern tower. While it is still one of the most populated building of the city, not many lives in the upper floors due to some strange superstitious fear.

Quite a lot of people work outside the town, trying to grow crops or hunt and fish. The food come from them. The curious and the technician work in the center, using the machine they can and repairing the other. Most of them avoid going too far in as the more bizarre and esethoric facilities are there.

From the northen exit of the forest, a road lead to a strange castle, built around a colossal tower. Strange mechanical puppets work days and nights to maintain the tower and its castle and completly ignore whoever enter it. A few hermits live there, by curiosity or to leech off the puppets work but most consider the castle as a cursed place, without really knowing why.

An ancient forest, the only one who is know of the city's people, is a few kilometer away from the southern exit, throught marshlands and lake. It's an important source of food and the weather is completly unchanging, always lukewarm. A lake is in there, who at night, reflect perfectly the night sky and the many stars in it. The closer one get to the lake and the better the weather is. It feels like a pleasant, breazy summer day. The people revers this place and refuse to live or sleep there for fear of destroying what they see as their most precious tresaure. The weastern exit lead to an old asphalt road who will take whoever follow it to another city. This one is completly dead. Not even scavengers or animals are seen. People refuse to acknowledge it even exist. I have visited it once. The most peculiar thing about it was undoubtly its massive church. It was the only building where I found some trace of recent activity. However I didn't stay long enought to search for whoever still lived there as night started to fall and the second city took on a much more menacing aspect. When trying to get out of it, I realized that I was impossibly deep in the second city and that I couldn't recognize streets I should have walked a few minutes ago. Thankfully I still could saw the gigantic northen tower and managed to safely get out before the night truly sets in.

Heavy fogs sometime roll in from the west. The many curious great rocks dotting the landscape then take on even more outlandish forms. Sometime it seems as if they take on new forms and move. When the fog clear, one can sometime notice that some rocks disappeared or that some extremly similar one is in a new place. People don't seem to mind and some even find it amusing.

When I came to this world, I came to in a laboratory of the center. I was found by a group of ingineers and was brought before an old man, who was the chief of one the main communities.

After listening to my story and realizing I knew how to read and write, something of a rarity in this time and age, he allowed me to stay at the top of a tower and made me work in a makeshift librairy, where many books, recent and ancient, where kepts. They needed a new archivist as the old one went missing after what should have been a short trip to the center of the city.

Lately, an old guard has taken interest in me. While he never directly talked to me, he seems to have made his mission to stop me from getting my hands on new books. There was a theft at the librairy and I'm persuaded that he is the culprit. Most people know him as a constant in their lifes, even the old folks. I've noticed he often go alone in the center and I plan to follow him one day.

My ferst two choices would be the same as in unpdated version where we had only two choices: Healthcare and Whores. The third one is tricky, i would like Mansion or Yacht, but Mansion is in a foreign country where i wouldn't be able to find a decent job and would have no way of supporting myself. I just realized that unlike other cyoa's where you can will a waifu into existence, this one doesn't say that your waifu will lose her powers (if she has any). Not only that, but it doesn't say or imply that you can only pick an option once.

With that in mind, I'll take John-Paul Sartre for 1 point (combining this cyoa with the original Worm CYOA), and Waifu four times.

My Waifu's will be imaginary women that I just thought up on the spot. They're both all-powerful genie's, capable of granting any wish I desire and are permanently bound to me, their husbando.

It just occurred to me that there may be an upside to leaving the DLC as such instead of integrating it in the original CYOA.
The way it currently is, it clearly presents itself as a "soft-reboot" sequel, telling you that you can now recreate your realm.

So taken literally, this invites players to make two builds, a first one without the dlc and a second one taking it into account, with the idea that the first build happened to you (the player) who retains memory of it, and is then followed by the new build in which you are given the chance to rewind history Majora's Mask style and make different choices (and possibly keep some unchanged, such as going on one particular adventure that awards your favorite dream waifu).

That's actually kind of a neat novelty approach to CYOAs that could be used with others as well. Similar to those meta CYOAs that just got posted, just apply to whichever CYOA you find yourself torn over (say because too many waifus not enough points) the notion of "you(/your avatar) can live out the choices made, then rewind time and go down a different path, without losing those experiences".

Of course it could be argued that applying this to a CYOA that doesn't present it as an option would be cheating. If so, it could be balanced by some self imposed drawback, depending on the CYOA's context.

Yes, that's what I was trying to convey. Because in that CYOA it's the dreamscape being recreated, no time travel involved, some past events may be erased and some kept, depending on your choices.
But if this was applied to quests and waifus, that would effectively double the amount you are able to pick, which was evidently not what the CYOA author had in mind, so events concerning those you do not pick again ought to be considered as never having happened outside of the player's memory (i.e. historically you did not save that girl, someone else will have to do it, even though you remember doing so and reaping the reward).

I kind of want Iberian seaside, which would be kind of a mix between hellenic and gothic. I guess I'll go gothic.
Hard choice between tropical and Mediterranean climate, I'm used to Mediterranean but I think I'll go tropical to avoid the droughts. And even in Mediterranean climate, those winter mornings can be pretty cold.

Five features? Beaches are great, gotta take those. "Marshland" if that covers mangroves. Woodland in the other direction, rivers since fresh water is necessary to human life. Coral reefs are good fishing.

Cozy cabin is tempting, but I think I'd rather have a project even though I don't really need the space, so Old Mansion. The village border is the most my style; I like peace and quiet but not enough to go for isolation.

Pale Ring is probably a good idea for a tropical place, but I dislike wearing rings more than I dislike tropical rain or jungle so I'll pass. Inviting pendant is, I suppose, a good thing. I wish I could have that without a magic item, but I'll take it nonetheless. The fur seems stylish and snuggly. Being treated with respect is nice, but it seems to happen to me naturally so I'll pass on the dagger. I suppose my final choice will be the blanket. Few things are as pleasant as cuddling up with a really nice blanket in the evening.

All Roads Lead is the nicest border option. The edges of a small world are unpleasant things, better to maintain the illusion that they don't exist.

Carpentry is fun. Rather than furniture I'd rather focus on structures, fixing buildings. And painting them while I'm at it, and pruning trees, and other good honest work around town.

Not sure about some of those famous places. A meadow is beautiful in the spring, but part of the beauty is the dynamism and ephemerality. Is it really as nice if it's always the same? Well, I'll say that one anyway. Healing Spring seems nice for baths, and since I didn't take the volcano, a good source of warm water for bathing is nice. Primeval forest is all but a given; every village needs a holy place. Galaxy lake seems like ordinary bioluminescence, but I like that, it's nice to kayak out onto and watch the fish swim late at night.

I want all those guides. They all seem like genuinely nice people that I'd like to get to know and spend time with
