All images are from soviet multi-volume encyclopedia called "The Life of Animals" by Zenkevich. It has a TON of illustrations both in colour and b/w. It's worth viewing just for them even if you don't know Russian language, though the text content is awesome too, especially intro to first volume.

Evolution in a slightly dimmer world? (Imagine their brightest day is our early morning). Especially plants. Bioluminescence for flora and fauna would be the first thing that comes to mind but it's too energy expensive in an environment that would probably not have as much of it as you would hope.

Would give some more ideas but I'll do that tomorrow since I'm too sleepy to contribute anything meaningful right now.
