Not fought in the pits yet, no.

But my character and the Fighter of the party have a plan to enter him into some pit fights with my character as his manager. And by 'manager' I mean 'sits in the audience and helps him out with his ranged, vocal-based aid-anothers which give +5 rather than +2

Is the manager a Bard, Skald, or someone with Golden Lion boosts?

>>51848330
The Rogue isn't necessary since the Barbarian can spring the traps, and either him or the Mage can be the face.

In the last Gestalt game I ran, we had a Fighter/Monk, a Druid/Rogue, and an Oracle/Wizard. This was when the APG came out.

Have you ever played the Moonscar?
>>
>>51848372
None, actually.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/cavalier/archetypes/rite-publishing---cavalier-archetypes/inspiring-commander/

Inspiring Commanders can Aid Another at a distance with a DC 15 Oratory instead of whatever fucking skill it is, AND add their Int to the bonus they provide. So it doesn't matter if the rogue is trying to pick a lock, or the wizard is deducing the mysteries of the fucking cosmos, my lad has some useful insight. Somehow.

And in the fights it'll mostly be the typical manager fare of encouragement/'on your left' sort of stuff.

I canned the bard stuff in exchange for access to tech things, incidentally. We already had a bard.

>>51848279
They mostly regulate her to the matches. Before the main event. You know, the gimmicky matches to get the crowd riled up.
>>
>>51848441
It's been fun!

There's some kind of subtle implication that something mysterious is helping him out in some way, making him able to do that, and helping him make scifi shit in Standard Fantasy Setting Land.

I have NO FUCKING CLUE what it is. Gonna find out eventually though.

Someday I want to play a Chaotic Evil character in a campaign that's not evil, someday.
>>
>>51848492

>>51848477
Is the character a gnome?
>>
>>51848471
Like when they execute prisoners in horribly mismatched fights? Ehh they're alright. The actual fighters better have some artistry in their kills.
>>
>>51848524
Nah, he's a 34 year old human.

He hits middle-aged within the year.
>>
>>51848511
The challenge of playing a Chaotic Evil character well without muddying the alignment or compromising the group. The novelty of having the least common alignment available.

Also because I grew up on 8-Bit Theatre and OOTS.
>>
>>51848524
>>51848524
Not really no, its more about gimmicky scenarios. Like on planks above the lion pit.

I've only used victory points in a one off mud wrestling match. Less killy, more crowd excity
>>
>>51848547
Simple, you might be the most high of assoles, but the party is comprised of very dear friends.

Even evil has loved ones.
>>
>>51848372
Most certainly not.
That's a cover from 2nd edition. Back then the barbarian was just a fighter who can't afford an armor yet, the rogue levelled at like twice the speed of everybody else, and the wizard OWED EVERYTHING to you for having carried him from like 1 to 6 before he finally started making himself useful more than once a day.

And only you could go over 18 strength.

>20 point buy, but nothing above 18 or below 7 after racial mods.
>No classes are banned, but talk to me first if you want to play a gunslinger, summoner, or prepared 9th level caster.
>Use the unchained classes when possible.
>No leadership feat.
>Blood money cost is a cost, and must be paid by you. no way to get out of it.
>Sacred geometry never existed.

Just saying I've only seen that kinda build on black or Slavic women who've spent the last twenty years having kids, tits don't normally get that huge.

Maybe it's her hobby once the kids left the nest? That sounds like a character concept, the woman who spent her life being a mother since 16, and now that she's 36 decided to take a trip around Avistan and see the sights?

Heck, why not make one for Taldor Ascendant? Imagine it - the war between Taldor and Qadira, the woman could be a mighty soldier who fought in Sothis and helped bring about victory.

But that was 12 years ago. Since then she's settled in the recently annexed Zimar Province and started having kids with her beloved (either she met him before the war, or during.) Now war is stirring once more, and the Emperor himself picks her to protect a dignitary that might turn the fortunes of the coming conflict in Taldor's favor.

She not only fights for Taldor, but for the family and loved ones she holds so dear. The breastplate might not fit like it used to, but she'll make do!

>>
>>51849722
Look it up
>>
>>51849746

See, you say that but 4e had some of my favourite examples ever of fluff as rules.

Like the various summons. Demons were the best summons rules-wise (Best effects, biggest numbers) but they had the worst instinctive actions (What they do when not being directly commanded on your turn) with many of them being negative or just very friendly-fire prone.

So it created a fun dynamic with demons as a summon where you were playing with fire as being unable to control them (Say, by getting stunned for a turn) could lead to them running amok as the leash gets loose.
>>
>>51849792

Adding to this. Western animation is kinda bad and a lot of people here have literal autism and can't really understand real-life faces and subtle emotions. Anime is like "reading emotions from humans: easy mode" and really helpful.

Her mom and stepdad threw her out when they found out she was studying arcane magic!
The magic school threw her out when she ran out of money!
The adventuring party she spent years making into her NEW family threw her out when they found out she was a tiefling!

The next adventurers she saw, including the next person who said a single kind word to her, she clings to like a possum and won't let them out of her sight. Surely these ones will never find out she's a tiefling!

She's in the Megumin spinoff series, I assume she's been staying with someone else in the Crimson Demon village while Megumin is off adventuring. The confusing part is why they never introduced the familiar cat in the series.

>>51850068
She's already cute, and short but still Medium. Her desperation makes her energetic. Whenever they stop, she is always slowly inches her way into being too close for comfort among other party members. They inch away. Or recoil in surprise if she's successful at Stealth and they find she's suddenly clinging to their side out of nowhere.

Truthfully this character would be a lot less cute if it were a boy.

She has Pass for Human, so it's fairly simple.

I wrote it so her eyes go black all over when she casts from her highest level slots, and she has the Soul Seer racial ability so she can always identify living, dying, dead, undead and constructs, which is useful but might give her away a little if she tells the party. She also noticably resists energy.

I think overall it will take plot or a character mistake to truly reveal her unless she has to lie directly about being normal and fails a Bluff. Narratively the other players and I sort of cooperate to push each others' stories along.

He had the idea drilled into his head from a young age that he needs to do everything he can to pass as human, to the point where it really kind of made him a little fucked up in the head.

Not him, or Elsbeth's person either, but I don't think you're the first person to criticize the art style. Personally, the ears are the only thing that really bother me, but I think they match with the rest of the style being used by the artist so that's okay. Hopefully this first leg of its publication goes well and Purple Duck Games sees fit to publish the Unchained Cavalier as well. It's been a great experience and this general has given me tons of help and feedback. I can't be thankful enough.

>>51851468
So to speak to this what I always preface the Unchained Gunslinger with is that it ended up being much more of a gadgeteer than the original gunslinger. If you are looking for more of a cowboy quickdraw experience the archetype named The Motley Gunman gets rid of the contraptions in favor of a cloak of many colors and a pseudo dual-identity of the gunslinger and the stranger. It has a cloak of many colors, based on the cloth of the cloak you choose you receive a number of power and patches.

The base unchained gunslinger instead has items such as glasses to detect magic, a whirly bird backpack, triggered bombs, etc. Contraptions were supposed to bring a lot of utility in the class. The Motely Gunslinger also has utility but it is more focused.

The other two archetypes are both alchemy based, one giving you a construct animal companion and the other 4 level extract casting and a mutagen. These are the Construct Tinkerer and the Bootleg Alchemist.

My personal favorite style a Unchained Gunslinger can take Coal Cloak of Many Colors Motley Gunman.

The reasons are two-fold.

For starters, people tend to play twenty somethings, not characters well into their thirties. This is especially true for women. More importantly, people aren't all too keen on saying their character has had children, especially multiple children over the course of two decades. It makes the woman seem "used" in a way being a slut can't even begin to touch - not only has the woman had sex, and not only has she had a *lot* of sex, but she's too old to start a new family and she's probably still in love with the man that gave her a lifetime of little feet pitter-pattering on wooden floorboards.

Find a player that is willing to play such a character and I will love them forever, but for now being the motherly older woman in a TTRPG is anathema.

I haven't written much of the bio because I hate putting in PLACEHOLDER for when I think of a name later. I do know that they'll be from Kenabres itself (Chance Encounter trait), Cryptic as primary class, super high Int and thinking of playing him as annoyingly patient almost autistic. Lawful alignment, feels the fundamental wrongness of the Worldwound, lots of knowledge skills, has determined his unique abilities as a Cryptic may be critical for dealing with the affront to the universal order that is the Worldwound.

So you want to play a Cryptic genius with an almost unfathomable mind who wants to close up the blight on creation that is the Worldwound.

You want a name that's steeped in the occult, or at least sounds like it. Something smart, something intelligent.

Here are my ideas.

Alistair, Constantine, Salazar, Grigori.

I want to play a character who is a member of an obscenely long-lived race who has tried a fuckton of weird shit over the years, because they are constantly bored and want to see the world from new perspectives. While it would be nothing more than a footnote in terms of actual relevance for the most part, this would mean they have successfully been both a father and a mother. Multiple times. To the point that they can't remember what they were originally and just go with what they are in the moment.

How bad of an idea is this.

Fire-Forged Steel or Elysian Bronze
>>
>>51853119

That's actually a pretty bad idea, but not for the reasons you might think. Or, actually, exactly the reasons you think.

I love the idea of playing an Elf who's lived, loved and had children with multiple people over the centuries, and is on a "cool-down" while they're with the party. What I don't like about your idea is the character becoming other genders because they're "bored" and want to "try new things."

Boredom is boring.
>>
>>51853149
Voidglass for that cheap +1 to damage. Mithral and Darkwood close seconds, particularly for that no ACP armor and shield.
>>
>>51853149

Elysian Bronze for the reasons >>51853183 probably picked it - gleaming golden armor is gorgeous, and I love Adamantine because it's this rich, jet-black metal that can carve through just about anything.

Hell, I love Darkwood for the same reason, as a man who works with wood I can appreciate the beauty of a well-polished piece of ebony or mahogany.
>>
>>51852940
I play Dads too often. One was a professor of anthropology that went on adventures Indiana Jones style to bring home the bread and presents to his kids and in order to write papers and give first hand accounts of demi human cultures.

Another was an Occultist with no sense of write or wrong obsessed with Thasilon that joined his daughter's party after she started hearing whispers from ghosts telling her to explore the Catacombs of Wrath. He accidentally made his daughter while attempting to woo an elf that got her hands on evidence of sin magics and felt obligated to take care of the girl when his elven lover refused to raise a half breed.
>>
>>51853191
"Boredom" almost feels like a placeholder motivation when related to backstories, since it /is/ a shitty motivation on its own for things. This was less "a character idea" on its own and more "a thing to put into a character background and mold to whatever the main concept was".

Unfortunately, I seem to have forgotten that you can't simply supply a piece of something, because people will assume that's the whole thing.

Inubrix. Make Inubrix arrows/bolts/bullets and shoot through anything iron/steel. Sure you hit like you're 1 size smaller but you ignore iron/steel. The DM tosses their golem being piloted by someone at you, shoot the cockpit and cave in their skull. Shit is expensive, +5,000 for any weapon, +100 for a single thing of ammo (PF prices special material for ammo around (Price of material on weapon / 50) ), but if you want something that, when popped out makes the party open their eyes, and more open to be countered (non metal armor or iron golems), Inubrix is for you.

Inubrix! Make the armor tank shit brix!

With Uk'Regash it's largely joking because it's DHB and apparently it's cool to shit on him, with Kline, it's someone's fursona, right down to the DA art selection, the character sheet at the beginning of the application for Aaliya made me reeee slightly.

I do have more legitimate criticism of other characters, but the people i had issue with were male characters from Tian Xia, an ocean or two continents away, so they didn't all fit in the group 2 list.

Okay so I'm doing some joke builds for a certain set of joke NPCs (pic related).

How do I minimize attack bonus while maximizing AC and HP?

My idea got the HP and defense up while taking the hit for adjacent allies (Stalwart Defender) but the attack bonus was too high for the joke to work.
My friend's good idea was using a class nonproficient in heavy armor and tower shield (all that armor check penalty to attack) but is incompatible with my idea since the prestige class gives proficiency for heavy armor and tower shields.

So what other ways are there to comically limit attacks?

In another joke build, we're trying to find a way to only cast one (powerful explosion) spell a day. The best my friend got was wizard with bonded object and refusing to use a spellbook.

Take both Combat Expertise and Martial Power (that's from Path of War); the latter lowers your attack for an AC bonus, whereas the latter lowers your attack for Temporary HP.

Lucius because he's my favourite, Rath to complement Lucius on the other male slot so we got an agile defensive mundane CG and a powerful offensive magic LG, Lorelei to contrast them both and for lesbian-trap shenanigans, Mercedes to add color, cover some mechanical ground and because she looks like she'd ship well with any of the others. I guess Tia for healing with a lack of other options, and the last spooooot, maybe Wisteria because I think she has the least overlap with anyone.

For team 2, I think Seth is the only very magical boy so we'll start there. Arme to get a completely non-magical boy on the opposite alignment, though I wish they weren't both CHA dump characters. Fei for an agile defensive martial and so her and because her teacher shtick works well with both of the guys. There's way too much INT now so Francisca who brings along a dragon for uniqueness. I think Aaliya is the only remaining character with viable healing so her on the fifth slot. Lisa because I have no other ideas but she's really cute and I couldn't fit her into team 1.

Well a part of it is Darkness putting all her points in HP while ignoring attack (I might be remembering wrong), but you're right, the other part of it is her being terrible as a "player." So I'm trying to have a mix of both poor play and poor character building to maximize the effect.

Comparatively, my Aqua build is actually good on paper (reflecting the whole "every stat is good except INT) but requires you to play like an idiot. On the other hand, the Kazuma build is hampered by the (intentionally bad) overly even stat distribution.

Everyone takes perception with no exception and often UMD even if cha is shit and they can't afford pragmatic activator.

What really gets me is that Bruising Intellect exists but the closest STR equivalent is a feat and penalizes you for dumping CHA.

Can you be enlightened by muscles? Euphoric from working out?

No. No you cannot.
>>
>>51854412
Closest you'll ever get is making a midget catfolk rogue/ninja/ranger/whatever
>>
>>51854444
/fit/ would say otherwise.

Do you have NPC helpers, or secondary PC, riding along with you for non-combat tasks?

Thanks for posting m8.

Wait what?
Oh, is this a Light Novel thing?
I really should read them up I guess, but anime's just easier since LN tend to be written like shit

>The confusing part is why they never introduced the familiar cat in the series
Well she did pick up a cat in the beginning of season 2, maybe that's supposed to be it?

Paizo doesn't even know what /fit/ is. Have you seen the videos of those people?

>Str getting nice things
>outside of Avowed, which has caused endless butthurt

look at this fag, look at him and laugh
>>
>>51854533
Well yeah obviously, it's fucking mustard.
>>
>>51854426
Strength is the easy option. It is for peasants who cannot afford to lose more feats in their builds.
>>
>>51854549

Strength Avowed has only caused butthurt because the Pact that benefits the most from high strength is also the most boring.
>>
Is there any timeline for when the SRD is going to stop being a steaming pile of horse shit again? This content migration stuff has been going on for two weeks now.
>>
>>51854533

What, by taking Intimidating Prowess?
>>
>>51854426

Well, being a viking raider was 90% boasting, 10% raiding...once in their lifetime before going back to farming.
>>
>>51854608
"Boring but effective" is literally all strength has going for it. At least by virtue of being an avowed it's still more interesting than everything else that's Str-based.
>>
>>51854533
Well you probably dump Int less than you dump Cha, so put a trait toward that substitution if you want.

I don't know, and they stopped putting the "here's the old version" link too. On the bright side, Spheres of Power is now on the SRD.

>>51854630
>>51854675
I can't really spare the feats right now but it was really more of a general statement. It always irritates me, and the discussion of traits reminded me of it.
>>
>>51854645

I'm saying I want Strength-to-Deflection on Elemental (after taking Embodiment of Aether of course) or the same to Natural Armor from Fae or Dragon.

I want more strength friendly options for Avowed dammit!

I'm honestly surprised the "Cha-as-Armor bonus" isn't just a clause, and that ability to get the "Cha-to-one-Save" clause is still limited to only one instance.
>>
Is there any monster or creature that attacks Charisma?
>>
>>51854444
But it's as satisfying as cumming is. Just as Ahnuld.
>>
>>51854757

Dude, this is me being all flavor-focused but hear me out.

Imagine a clause that gives cha-to-AC (probably untyped), and then imagine that getting turned into strength via EoA.

Like, imagine how cool that would be to describe! An Avowed (Elemental) could say jolts of lightning arc out of him or the wind pushes weapons away like a mini-shield, or Fae get toughened bark-like skin, or Dragon grow scales.

It would be so cool, and the only clause that gives AC does a flat +2 deflection.

Self Pact gives you a typed armor bonus, is the thing. It's an Armor Bonus, which means you can't just slap Bracers of Armor on and laugh. The clause continuing to be an Armor Bonus feels kind of like a necessary thing to avoid it becoming a "totally mandatory thing" for every single avowed, like how the save clause kind of is.
>>
You can use your Strength to boost your defenses by taking 1 level of Swashbuckler or Flamboyant Arcana!

The show is fun because you get to watch the snarky fuck suffer, and because it's a goldmine for reaction images

I kind of got turned off from the show when I realized that the MC was equivalent to a metagaming faggot that had advance knowledge of everything.
