IIRC I was there around 9PM and again around 12AM Saturday night. It seemed about equally crowded both times, maybe a little less so later.

Wait..whut? Is there a board for the discussion of board games that is not /tg/? Or is there something about that post that signifies it is related to something belonging on a containment board?

I'm hoping this was a legit outraged post and not a fire and forget bait cause I am confused as he'll right now.

I've thought about trying some tabletop at my local con animazement. Anyone here been? I wonder if I could DM a one shot. Considering the type of people I've met there, it could be difficult. I see their page for panel requests but can people just set up games at a table?

He's referring to /cgl/ I think. Anything even remotely related to conventions or "dressing up" gets pointed to there. It's why we no longer have LARP threads on /tg/. This absolutely needs to remain on /tg/ though, because it's about the playing of board games and seagulls do not play board games.

I played a Doom tabletop game with mi amigos at ye olde Katsucon.
