So I'm currently playing an only war game as an operative and I have been given access to a sentinel. I am a Nurgle marine/Ork player and have little knowledge and understanding on the fluff of the Imperial Guard, so I pose this question.
How agile and nimble are these adorable walkers of doom? Like obviously they can run on the tabletop and in Dawn of War they're death animation shows the legs able to try and right themselves but I want to know the upper limits of operating one. Like can I say sprint across a battlefeild, can I jump and leap, can I do a landing skid, can I do a charging leap which would allow me to impale a greater daemon with my gun barrel.
You know, the usual stuff.

they cant jump or leap, or at least not safely, but they can certainly run at high speeds, even over rough terrain

just watch out for rolling logs

generally yes, however keep in mind there are 2 versions, armored and scout. The armored sentinel is far heavier and less agile.

here is some (somewhat incoherent) info

It's an AT-ST rip-off, it can do whatever AT-ST can.

>I know but I want to know how it would work under a physical observation.
It wouldn't. Chicken-legged designs are pure rule of cool taken from Star Wars and have absolutely no way to exist in any way shape or form because they absolutely screw up the locomotion of actual birds.

In the end, it's 40k. No one gives a fuck about what they can do as long as it remains cool. Birds can leap, so can these.
Worst case scenario you're with some autists, then abuse the fact you're a Chaos-y guy and say it's because of the warp presence angering the machine spirit inside.

I don't like being this kind of person but it's bothering me too much.

It's their, not they're

I came in this thread to say this as well. A bit of proofreading can save you from a lot of hassle, anon.

Either way, back on subject. Yes, by lore they are agile for a vehicle, but the pattern of it matters a lot as well, the differences are not only limited to just armor/scout variants. For example, elysian pattern sentinels are built to survive airdrops, although they had to cut down on it's armor and armaments, iirc. You should probably ask if you can figure out what kind of pattern it is, who knows, it might have a quirk that suits you well!

>charging leap which would allow me to impale a greater daemon with my gun barrel
>Having to jump and spear with your gun. Not getting the variant with the giant chainsaw blade.
>Not getting the Elysian Pattern and get orbital dropped on your enemies from space.

You know, I can't help but think that a game where you play as a Sentinel pilot would be immensely fun. Like, you'd incredibly fragile and you only really have one decent weapon, and there's a lot of shit that's still a major threat to you. But you're agile as fuck, and you're adorable!

Some can jump and leap, like the Silverstorm Sentinels in Fire Caste. It's not recommended that they do it, because they still go to pieces at a solid hit.

Anon here jsut saying this, if I impale it with the gun and it doesn't go all the way through, it just means I can fire away without any chance of missing.

I can't write today, help....

Star Wars wasn't the first setting with walkers, and RT sentinels were a lot different.
(this is a conversion, original version would have the minigun on a pintle mount in front of the driver)

So?
Warhammer 40k is 99% stolen shit, 1% borrowed shit.
They are copies of AT-St now and they were copies of some other sci-fi we're too young to know of back in the RT era.
