Old 1d4chan material but still fresh.

Ran an encounter in my Only War game based on this image where the locals in the recently recaptured city had built a shrine to the 'fallen angel' that had died protecting them. The PCs' orders were to investigate and retrieve the helm so that command could return it to the chapter, but they ultimately decided to report that they couldn't find it because it was proving essential for civilian morale.

Technically speaking, the Emperor COULD have an impact in the warp creating a barrier portion for those that believe in him, and due to the apparent nature of Living Saints (Able to be resurrected even after extended periods of dead) it is possible that he could shelter the souls of loyalists.

The big question for xenos, however, would be if the Emperor would have a stronger pull on the Eldar's soul than Slaanesh, which IS possible.

For all we know, the souls from the failed Ynnead gambit could have flown straight into the Emperor's arms, not that that's actually going to happen in canon.

There is merit in making the commander the one to deal out the punishment. It can help prevent an "Us-vs-The Commissar" mentality, and reinforce the idea that though they may be from the same world, their CO is still a representative of the Imperium of Man and will act as such.

It could also be a test for the commander, ensuring that the CO has the nerve to police his own men should he need to.

I've been building some customized as fuck AdMech for HoR and Inquisimunda. There's male only regiments, female only regiments, and mixed regiments. I'm sure the IG as a whole is male dominated, and some regiments have cultural or practical reasons to restrict recruits from their home world (for example, Krieg's needs to repopulate, or worlds dominated by one of the two sexes) but beyond that it shouldn't mean much.

Also the whole "THE WORLD'S STRONGEST WOMAN CANNOT DEFEAT THE WORLD'S STRONGEST MAN" only deals with 21st century Earth. If you make an enemy of a Catachan you should be 100% terrified that they're gonna punch out all your blood regardless of whatever jiggly bits they have or don't have. Applying modern standards of training to a galaxy spanning, totalitarian theocracy in the 41st millennium is silly.

Well, canonically, you're wrong. There have been female guardsmen from all of those regiments. More than anything, the Imperium needs warm bodies, and they don't turn down recruits based on gender. On Cadia for example, EVERYONE goes through a basic training, absolutely no exceptions, and women that excel are placed in the Guard.

There are no female stormtroopers, because all the Schola girls generally get assigned to an order of the Adepta Sororitas (who, by the mere fact of their existence, kinda demolish your arguments). There are also very few female Vostroyans, because of the ceremony involved in their recruitment, and there are no Krieger guardswomen as they're busy pumping out babies on an industrial scale. Most regiments have however been shown to take on women, however.

The US actually did not draft women because they got into the war too late. They were considering it for the invasion of Japan but it ended with the bomb. And they weren't, nurses as a whole were pretty much absent from the Pacific theater due to the lack of proper facilities that weren't Australia or a ship sitting behind the Battleships(which were the ones on the frontlines). Medical personnel were entirely male as the Japanese didn't respect the non-combatant part and they quickly dropped their patches and fell in line with the rest(who were men.)

Also the image you used is women being deployed to the Western theater, were they were in fact nurses and at far greater chances of being attacked due to their proximity to the front

In boot camp, I met a female who kicked my ass at pushups and situps, getting enough to score 100 on both parts for her PT test if she were a male (females have lower requirements). I've met and spoken with female infantry who are still able to carry their share of the workload and weight, and their biggest problem is that their bodies are significantly more fucked after service than most men's bodies tend to be. During service, it's just a matter of making sure you do your PT, eat right, and generally be healthy (like a male).

Now drop this in the 41st millennium, where there's all manners of horrible monstrosities in the galaxy as a whole. If a female shows up to enlist, do you really think she's going to be turned away because she has an extra X-chromosome? No, she'll only be turned away if she's shit with a lasgun or can't do her PT. Life after the Guard is rarely ever a thing, even for the officers who would more likely survive 50+ years of soldiering. So the Imperium doesn't have to worry about that "after-service" part where they have to take care of her if she manages to reach the necessary time-in-service and (somehow) get a retirement order signed and actually processed. They have to worry about having guardsmen who can actually do their jobs. And if it's between a woman who has motivation, physical fitness, and good aim verses a man who has some motivation, needs to work out more, and okay aim, they'll take the woman every time.
