Tyranids, how do fix them?

So how do we fix the nids (followed by orks) ive got a lot of ideas but don't know if theyre considered OP? Too much? Too little? Focusing in the wrong places?

Tyranids should work on their own though without needing a 1.5 patch.

I think all the need is a boost to WS + BS across the board with the exception of some Troop choices, and then some Elites need a better save.

Job done.

Knowing GW they'll stay the same and they'll get a formation that needs 90 gaunts and 5 Canifex's to make them workable.

Fixes for the lore, and adding special characters, we introduce Gathering Storm: Splintering of the Hive Mind:

She makes Genestealer cults Battle Brothers with Tyranids, and replaces the Regular genestealers with GSC ones. Further more, she gives ALL Tyrannid and GSC models a better version if the Cult Ambush rules. Enjoy your ambushing Carnifexes and Hormagaunts.

Swarmlord needs to be deleted ASAP. You're clearly too new to know how Tyranids are supposed to be.

...maybe. At the very least Synapse should grant Adamantium Will. It should also have other effects too, though, something like Imperial Guard orders or Combat Doctrines that let you boost the capabilities of things in synapse range with different orders each turn.

Probably necessary unless the powerful books are rebalanced to be reasonable.

That's one of maybe 20 things that need to be fixed for the Carnifex

Special characters should be deleted. Their unique special rules should be upgrades you can buy for any model of that type, so you can upgrade any Carnifex to do special OOE shit or any Hive Tyrant to be like the Swarmlord.

I wouldn't say Beasts, I would say give them the dunestrider rule some Skitarii have - +3" to all movement.

Yes, apart from Cult Ambush/RTTS, with Broodlord replacing Patriarch, and with more options for upgrades.

Both of those guns need to be fully reworked and Brainleeches straight up nerfed

They need about 15 more fixes than that. Total rework.

They should just be straight ML 1 Brotherhood of Psykers but with a static support power instead of rolling (probably Onslaught)

Speaking of which, the psychic discipline needs a total rework. Catalyst should grant the Death Frenzy rule Wulfen have, Onslaught should be a d6" move in the Psychic phase that has no effect on charging, Paroxysm could use a buff to -D3 WS, BS, I, and so forth.

I used to think this is a good idea, but really you can fit all the powers they need into one chart if you just buff them accordingly as I stated above.

There's a lot more your list doesn't include though.

Synapse is telepathic communication, they don't need pheromones to communicate that information instead.

Lictors use pheromones to lay trails outside of synapse range.

If you want to write a whole new core rulebook, do that. Don't bundle it in with a specific Factions Codex.

Behemoth hasn't been a big fleet for some odd 250 years.

Kraken hasn't for almost a decade.

Leviathan is the only MASSIVE singular Hive Fleet at the moment.

Not even touching on how dumb the rest of your concept is, especially the parts where special characters are "leading" the splinter fleets.
