Sup /tg/, I got a Worldbuilding question and there's no thread up right now.
The current setting I'm working on is set in the far, far distant postapocalyptic future of a typical fantasy ttrpg world. So far in the future in fact that certain races have...changed since the Fall. Elves, as an example, are now more bestial, having devolved into something more akin to a cat-monkey hybrid. Still sapient and tool-using, but more of the Wood-Elf genes are still around rather than a typical High Elf or Dark Elf. As another example, Dragonborn have evolved into a flightless bird race.
But what the fuck happens to Dwarves, Gnomes, Goblins, and Orcs? I also haven't decided on Humanity's role in this setting (though I'd like to include them). I don't want it to sound too ridiculous.

Dwarves are now squat subterranean mole people with no eyes. Halflings are feral and savage rat people that live in warrens.
Goblins/Orcs however, have evolved into a civilization.
