Nah. You'd need either Ferrus Manus or Perturabo to come back in order to make new power armor. Guilliman is smart and relatively tech savvy but not enough to design armor to supersede Mark VII or mark VIII.

Mk VIII is still super new, so it should either take a while or require some very dire circumstances where even VIII isn't good enough and they have to rush develop a better mark. This is what happened with Terminators and Land Raiders/Spartans. They were trying to take some Forge World but the plasma fields were too fierce for their normal shit.

Without a total restart or major tech advancements there's only so far power armor will go. It was viable at the beginning of the crusade and I don't think it made any major leaps over the years. Just a steady stream of tweaks and whatnot

Wierd fanfiction aside, I approve of the armored stomach and cabling, not of the unnecessary angles on the leg armor, nor the shrunk pauldrons. The Pauldrons actually do serve a purpose, space marines turn them towards fire and use them as shields. That's why they fire across their chest like they do - the pauldrons are reactive plating.

That's just an explanation for why the models are the way they are because it was way too difficult for early GW to model marines shooting forward properly compared to simply twisting the waist, but I like it.
