Played in my first legacy tournament this weekend with enchantress. It was a small FNM size tourney with 12 people playing. Everyone had a competitive deck (12 post, lands, jund, stoneblade, miracles, infect, etc.) I went 3-1 which was pretty cool. Every match I won went to time, though at least I finished 2-x in each of them on turns. Best match was against a jund player in my first round.

>keep a one lander with a dual, ramp, enchantress presence, GSZ, etc.
>worried about getting wastelanded, but whatever, what are the chances amirite?
>turn 1 wasteland, blow up savannah
>lose in short order
>game 2
>side in leylines, RIP helm combo
>opener has 2 leylines, elephant grass, 2 lands, enchantress, and RIP
>lock opponent out of the game in short order with his useless discards, goyfs, confidants, and DRS
>game 3
>leyline again, but slower start
>opponent chipping away through double grass that was starting to get expensive
>build 5 enchantress effects and start going off
>round goes to turns
>he has 14 life left from fetches, bobs
>I have the game locked down but lost my only helm to lily
>need emy
>turn 2
>find my second sanctum finally still no emy
>proceed to dig
>turn 3 opponent mounts pressure on the battlefield but lol solitary confinement

>draw my whole deck except 3 cards

Feels good man.

I'm still new to the deck and not fucking myself with the draw engine, but words of war wins always feel awesome when I feel I make the right choice between shocking and drawing and keeping the engine going.

probably being careful of control in his meta and having a less disruptable combo for a matchup where it's both unexpected and more safe, but I don't know for sure.

What's about the most optimal 12-post deck around? I've been looking around and they seem to wary a lot from 8-post to mono G deck to UG things. Also, is there any reason to not run 4 candelabra besides it being fucking expensive?

Well to be honest, being new to the legacy scene, I'm still trying to figure out the meta in my area, though I am weary of control matchups. I'm just messing around with different setups and win conditions and seeing what I like best. I never got to playtest this deck first hand, so I've been switching things up each night I play. It's been a blast so far. The depth of play in legacy is so much more vast than modern and standard, and it's gotten me hooked.

Postboard games, I assumed they would try to shut down words of war or disrupt my draw engine, so RIPhelm kinda sneaks under the radar. It's not hard to find the combo through disruption with all the tutors and a playset of mirri's guile. One game, I fetched in between guile triggers to dig for answers/tutors for answers.

Shouldn't EVERY deck run 4 Chalice?
