Hey /tg/, I was looking into grimdark and sort of edgy settings and systems to run for my players. Mostly for a laugh, and SotDL looked pretty neat.
Was thinking of trying it or Lamentations of the flame princess.
Any suggestions or recommendations one way or the other?
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2E, using RAW char gen rules.
The system is both great and hilarious.

Good suggestion anon, I only brought up the two I did because I'm actually sitting on those PDFs through random pdf grab bags. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find Warhammer fantasy though.
i tries Warhammer 3rd ed and it is baaaddd.... so complicated and unnatural that its not even funny. How is Lamentations ?

It's apparently a decent retroclone, if you like older editions of D&D. The art is pretty well made but it's pretty gorey and gruesome, which is either a plus or a minus depending on who you ask. Needless to say, it's about as lethal as you'd want your gritty grimdark game to be.
is it easy to learn ? i had my fill with WHFBRPG 3rd and i dont wanna go that path again.

If you mean WHFRP 2E, if you can play Dark Heresy or any of those games, you can play it.

Way too gamey for my taste famalam.
Not particularly interested in the base game, but the Godless expansion looks up my alley because muh modern post-apocalyptic fantasy. Does the game do that well, or are there games that do that shit better?

There was something off about it when I played it. Not really sure what it was.
