For HeavensAnon, a question about Madoka Magica Jump's Decretum Perk.

It mentions that it uses "a fair amount of Magical Energy" does this refer to the Magic given by the Soul Gem or the Jumper's personal pool?

Secondly, it goes on to mention that "summoning this monster will immediately 'refresh' your mind of any scars or trauma" does this mean that it also has a purifying effect on one's Soul Gem as well?

So, I just happened upon a brilliant idea.

So, take one Lyrical Nanoha Jump, add the fact that you're most likely gonna be a pre-teen, then despair at the fact that you miiiiiiight need a Guardian if you go with a Drop-In Origin.

Well, technically, you don't, but where's the fun in that?

So, here's what I did. I looked for a down-on-his/her-luck person, unknowingly crushed by the bullshit that is adult life. Then my companions and I knock on her door.

Also, with my Companions, why would it every be boring?

To wit, in Otoyomegatari, we owned a nice house near the town that the Eihan(?) live in, but every so often, we'd saddle up, pack the yurts and ride off in a random direction.

Then in Spice and Wolf, after selling all the pepper we had and making a few investments here and there, we bought supplies, one of those gypsy wagons, two good healthy horses, a map or two, then rode off following the road to where ever it led. Stopping at major town or city every so often to make more investments so local industries can grow. There was a cool point where we travelled with protags for a good while, a few weeks or so, before we had one of those crossroad scenes.

Then in Mass Effect, after taking over as the Shadow Broker, we found ourselves an automated ship-building plant on Noveria, built a better, luxurious version of the Normandy SR-2, then left, never to be seen again as we explored and ran the Network.

There's adventure everywhere, you just need to go out and find it.

It doesn't purify the Soul Gem in-jump, no. The energy used in-jump is Soul Gem energy, then it's whatever pool you use in future jumps (whether keeping the Soul Gem or using one you have already, or just stamina, etc.). Naturally, mix-and-match magic perks can let you change your mind on this down the road.

I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about this. Never really got the impression the need to wear funerary stuff to be that bad. Since it's just vague wrong-ness, unless they're in direct sunlight, then it's headaches or feeling lost. And wearing all black or white's enough to ignore it. Speaking of, the 'direct sunlight' bit should probably be mentioned? Maybe?

Endless Legend has quite a few ores which can add superhuman attributes to those that imbibe of them-speed, durability, stuff basically indistinguishable from magical enchantments. The fun part is everything's nanomachines at some level, and they're actually the byproducts of a broken system-so there's potentially more varieties to cook up.

Heartstone is normally made from a tonic sold in Fallen London that hardens grief into solid metal. Makes for excellent ammunition.

Discworld has Octiron, the magical metal. Dark, and seems to have some property of inversion. Absorbs magic, but also acts as an excellent conduit for it. Bells made of it silence everything around them when rung.

Chrono Cross and one of the gundams both feature living metals, which are useful if you like the idea of an army of killer metal trees.

Daedric metal from Elder Scrolls really brings out the evil overlord look if you like it; it's just the mineral ebony forged with souls.

Mistborn has quite a few, listed in the jump. Exalted too-there's Jade (comes in several elemental varieties), Starmetal (hardened destiny or the remains of gods which bends the fate of what it's forged into's favor), Moonsilver (molten silver catalysed in the Wyld by Silver Chair's light, which helps things made of it shapeshift/do weird dreamy stuff) and Orichalcum (molten gold consecrated under the Daystar that just makes things work better and glow gold). In Mage the Awakening, passing metals into the astral realms can similarly refine them albeit with-as written-less potential for artifacts into "perfect" forms by repeatedly passing them into Twilight (the spirit world, basically) and back into the material world repeatedly.

My personal favorite, though-is Cuendillar or Heartstone, from the Wheel of Time: A nigh-unbreakable construction created by refining iron using weaves of Earth, Fire and Air.

Depends on what you're going for and if you want to be the one building/designing the robots. Primary benefit to Daedalus is that she already knows how to design the Pandora system, which is pretty fantastic.

The jump is getting a very likely update in the near future that will give more options to Angelroids and expand on Pandora a bit, along with some new perks/items. Also I really need to go over all of my previous jumps and actually fix some typos or expand on early ones. Ed, Edd n Eddy was way too barebones and the gauntlet thing was on a whim.

Yes, it will keep the strength perk.

To the anon who asked about Immunity to Almighty, none of the Atlus jumps offer such a thing, though they might give you a resistance. In which case, all Almighty attacks will do half the damage they normally would have. Instant death is still instant death, though.

Also, to Garlock and the other anons talking about Brahman and YHVH and the connection they might have, that's a matter of debate. Brahman's form visibly possess an Amala Drum on the sides of his face, indicating a connection to YHVH. Schrodinger however states after the Satan Bonus Boss Battle that the God he worshiped was not the same one that waited at the center of the Sun AKA Brahman. Most likely answer is that Brahman is another avatar of the Great Will besides YHVH, but is otherwise unrelated.

Kamen Rider Knight / Ren Akiyama [200] - A knight clad in black, with the Mirror Monster Darkwing on his side, Ren is a cold loner and an early entry into the Rider War. He didn’t have much for himself in terms of a future and regularly got into street fights at the drop of a hat. The exception to this was his fiance’ Eri Ogawa, who was attacked by Darkwing and placed into a coma. Kanzaki Shiro appeared before him and told him that winning the Rider War was the only way to bring Eri back, to which he reluctantly agreed. To add insult to injury, his Contract was made with the monster that put her in such a state to begin with.

Ren tries to act aloof and not make emotional connections to other Riders...but despite this, he is ultimately torn between trying to save the love of his life and having to take human lives in order to do so. His own emotional bonds and his reluctance to do so are an obstacle he must overcome, and he knows it...but he may never bring himself to except when it ultimately comes down to Eri’s life or someone else’s. Perhaps that’s why he seems to tolerate Shinji’s presence as a sort of ‘annoying little brother’ or ‘vaguely useful ally’ despite how often the two come to blows.

Something of note is that Ren is followed by Kanzaki Yui, Shiro’s sister, who he originally acquainted himself with in an attempt to gain some sort of advantage in the War. This is likely not to pan out at all and Ren will end up becoming gradual friends with Yui, much like Shinji, if less vitriolic.

Furthermore, when talking about Kenneth finding a catalyst for Diarmuid, it could be a case simply using his position to requisition it from the storage area of the Clocktower or the Archibald, hell, his fiance has a name that sounds like she walked out of an Irish Story, so she could have used her connections to find it as well.

Hell, it was noted at one point she had a collection of catalysts...well, that was in Apocrypha certainly, but there it is.

Any way, tl:dr - Avalon doesn't originate from Earth, it's Fae-born, it had no reason to stick around when its owner fell. The first snake skin however does originate from Earth and has an age equal to that of a lot of gems. Also Sola-Ui could easily grabbed the replacement catalyst from her or family's collection.

Kamen Rider Zolda / Shuichi Kitaoka [300] - A self-proclaimed ‘super lawyer’ who lives a life of extravagance, he is a defense attorney who claims he can get any client of his out of trouble for the right price. Abyssals just have a minor "weakness" (it's more of an aversion, I'd say) to being in Creation, since living essence is different from their necrotic essence. Which gets much worse in direct sunlight. Acting/dressing all goth-y allows them to ignore that.

If made into a perk, I'd think it would be more you being able to mitigate weaknesses by acting in character. Like, a vampire who gets some resistance to sunlight from acting like a stereotypical vampire.


But anyway, I think both of them are actually fine as independent 50cp options. I just think the default's not as bad as it is presented right now.

Several places in the text, it seems to overate on the assumption that dying/loosing ends your ability to ability to continue the chain. Why?

The refuse to contract is bad, like if you take it, all perk's and items dissolving basically make it into the Salt jump. (Congrats Imma leave you here in Japan with no powers or abilities, and no legal existence. Enjoy being homeless and on the streets for the duration. Why am I doing this do you ask? Because you thought it was yours Benefactor, but it was me, Dio all along!

You might want to list the Riders in the war and what their Contracts/ Summons attacks and vents are at the end of the jump.

If you have to fight the other Riders, can't you just take their Cards after you defeat them to have more vent options and monsters?

What happens to the Seal Card? do you still have it? Does it go poof once you make a contract?

The mook monsters seem expensive monster with an attack that levels city blocks is 600 CP, the same cost as a 'swarm' of 4 of them, are those 4 as good as the one monster?

The short version to that first question is that it has a lot to do with what I haven't typed yet, and spoilers for the Gauntlet itself.

The narrative paints it that way, but it's not actually true. If you die at any point during Act 1, it time loops back to the beginning and you have a vague recollection of what killed you before. During Act 2, you're given a choice to either take back your powers in exchange for a higher Mirror Monster presence in the city, or keep fighting while depowered and get a Survive Card for your troubles. The difference is that taking your powers back turns this into a 'standard' jump from that point on, while Survive makes it follow the normal gauntlet rules where dying just means you get booted back to the chain. A big point here is that Shiro has a lot less power over you than he implied.

Blank is hard mode, yeah, but you still get the option to change back to normal in Act 2. Actually SOMEHOW ending the War without ever making a Contract or regaining your powers nets you a secret ending. It's EXTREMELY difficult, but possible. Hint: Get close to Yui and work your charisma when talking to Shiro. He's a lot less happy about this plan than he seems, especially since he's failed so many times before now.

No, he got the rest of their decks, too. It's just that Raia and Gai didn't have very expansive decks, so he didn't get much out of it other than the new Mirror Monsters. Really, for all that they're called "decks", the Advent Decks are barely even hands. Ouja has the most cards of all the Riders after contracting Evildiver and Metalgelas, at a grand total of...thirteen. Thirteen cards, that's it.

The asuras wrath jump lets you be as old as the universe (shard of creator god), warhammer imperium has no drawback limit and a double time extension, so does generic xiaxia or such. I believe there is also a jump that gives you the memories of a billion year old being, and then the dragon ball multiverse jump. Go to universe one and take the time extension drawback. If memory serves the universe seperates from main canon when the buu is 'born'.

Guanlet; question about Read the Guide from Minish Cap, I know it doesn't tell you how you might apply out of context abilities to solve problems but does information from previous worlds disappear? That's not a stupid question at all. They get 400cp in both, just like you get 1000cp in both, except they can only spend it on perks in that part. For example, you couldn't buy perks from part 1 with point you got in part 2, or vice versa.

Depends on whether you averted a certain event or not. During the story, Heat will kill, or nearly kill, Serph right in front of Sera's eyes. This will send a fresh wave of horror and despair through her, and since she's connected to God, that means that He feels all of it. At this point, He decides that mankind is beyond redemption, and begins turning the planet and everyone on it into data, and absorbing it into the Sun. Most of the Embryon are killed, Argilla and Roland die killing Indrajit, Heat dies due to a mortal wound given to him by Serph, Gale takes Angel with him, offering some comfort to her before she dies, and Cielo dies sacrificing himself to save Serph and Sera. From there, Serph and Sera transform into data, and on the way to the Sun merge into Seraph. There, with the rest of the Embryon, they unite and earn mankind another chance by fighting God.

So if you didn't avert that, your goal should be replicating what happened in canon. Otherwise, rescue Sera, and then get her to communicate with God. She can calm his rage, though you'll need someway to augment her powers.

So, can someone explain some SMT to someone who is completely lost in all of this? Are demons "real", or just virtual constructs? Did they exist before computers? Why is everything digital? Is there some kind of "spirit realm" they go to when not manifested? Are they around in the time between apalocalypses? When did people discover magnetite and other things were necessary to keep them around? Is this shit sufficiently advanced or what is generally understood as "supernatural"? I tried reading the wiki, but everything seems disconnected, and it only made less sense.
