Has GW hit rock bottom???

I thought Robbie and co. would be going up for order

What a disappointment THAT was

there is some kind of civil war going on inside GW

another faction made this Deathworld Forest bullshit

the latter faction also made the bloodthrone/Skull Cannon and SW Wulfen ...
>>

I really like these models and actually think the price is ok. The trees are pretty big and for the same money you'd get 4 normal forests.

You know, I wouldn't mind these "forests" if they actually looked like some plants.

Related question guys.
Where can I buy good 40k appropriate terrain?
Both natural terrain and cityscape stuff.

>>
>>51687731
GW's 40k city based stuff is mostly good. All the building kits are compatible with each other and aren't too badly priced.

No idea what happened with the stuff in the OP. It looks like garbage. They were going for alien, but it just looks spindly and insubstantial. They should have made a dense nest of the stuff, not just a line, and it's heinously overpriced.
>>
>>51687401

>>
>>51688429
Because other than the eldar thing it looks like fake aquarium coral I could buy at Walmart for far less than $130?
>>
>>51688429

It looks lame in general.
When I imagine these things on a tabletop, they just stick out awkwardly and look stupid.
Needs more vegetation, and to be less spindly looking.
They need something that looks more like dense and menacing overgrowth, instead of weird stalks that anyone in their right mind would just walk around.
The colors they chose were also really bad.
It makes me wonder if they put it against a white backdrop to avoid showing how bad it looks on a table.
Also, I'm guessing many of them would have problems staying upright.
>>

sure they do, until recently GW made most of its falling revenue from blind retards

I mean, the codex: catachan man eating plant rules rarely got used, but they made for good scenery. Man, I miss the old club. On topic, it always baffled me that people pay so much for scenery.
>>
>>51687401
You could literally go to a pet store and buy aquarium decorations that'd look better and cost less than this.
>>
>>51687797
well it determines how many kit's you would need. Covering more table for the same price is a point in its favour.

by the looks of it putting these on your typical terrain bases with some rocks and you've basically got a tables worth of cool alien flora.

For the guy who asked about 40k terrain.

Just buy plastic guttering, turn it upside down and add plasticard/cardboard end walls. Makes quick and easy 28mm science fiction buildings. Can easily stand in for prefab colony buildings.

Add a few skulls, eagles or AdMech symbols as needed.
>>
It costs that much because it's Eldar, not Imperium. Get it from a reseller and it's £60 for nigh on a tables worth of forest terrain. Not too bad and they'll get a decent return on their investment, seeing as this is for the benefit of Eldar players only for the most part.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN DEATHWORLD FOREST
1. Go out to the country side
2. Find a scrubby field.
3. put on nice & thick gloves (because you have soft, delicate girly hands)
4. uproot some weeds
5. Knock the dirt off the roots
6. Look at those roots
7. Those would make great deathworld Trees.
8. Chop plant until it generally fits your ideal shape.
9. Coat ideal shape in resin / superglue.
10. Congrats! you now have deathworld trees!
11. Net cost: Gas + Effort.
>>
>>51692234
If it was half of its current price I would be fine with it. But it can't compare to older terrain kits that are better both with design and how much you get.

Well, you don't like it, don't buy it.
>>
>>51692345
Or just go to the pet store and buy some aquarium plants. The old Catachan Codex had some DIY ideas for Deathworld plants.
>>
>>51700531
The problem with GW is that they are idiots. They think if it doesn't sell, it's not because their product is shit, but it's something no one wants in the first place.

Australians can shut the fuck up. Try living in New Zealand. TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR SHEEP DOLLARS.

>been needing some forest terrain for a while
>See new GW terrain
>Huh that look alright
>Check price
>Fuck that
>Buy 20 dollars worth of materials
>Spend your remaining 244 sheep dollars on beer/weed/cocaine/guardsmen
>>
>>51702665
Also

>NZD to USD exchange rate currently 1-0.72
>Somehow the kit is twice the price despite the fact I am actually closer to where this shit is made

This country just drives people into the ground with what shit costs man.
>>
>>51687401
>Those models
>That price tag
And the GWIDF will still defend this I bet.
>>
>>51702739
Funny enough that this is so bad it seems to be getting a mostly negative reaction everywhere.
>>
>>51702792
>that this is so bad it seems to be getting a mostly negative reaction everywhere.
Look at this thread, look at this board, most of people keep defending everything which comes under GW logo.
>>
I just bought an Imperial container box missing a sprue, and I intend to assemble one and use it as a base from which to make a plaster molds and cast my own for quick, easy scatter terrain. Or fighting in a container yard.
>>
>>51687447

Anon. I'm guilty I want to put rangers or a warlock in a Grove to cast stealth or shrouded as a casting bunker to wreck my opposition.

>gay lords scream REEEE EER on /tg
>>
>>51696958
>I will never understand why people start threads like this.
Yeah how dare all those people to discuss, not just blindly praising GW.

Back in the day GW Glasgow had a 3d Space Hulk board made out of square plastic cable-runs and plasticard.
>>
>>51690398
What kind of faggot wastes their time bitching about other people's bitching about a publicly traded company's latest product sucking dick?
>>
>>51706052
Shills?
>>
>>51702489

It's hilarious because this image applies to all the whiners in this thread when they go into 40k and GW threads just to whine about 40k or GW.

Oh wait, it's not hilarious. It's just annoying, because you morons do it all the time and never learn or realize your hypocrisy.
>>
>>51706183

The guy literally tells you to buy other peoples' shit so you don't have to buy GW's overpriced shit. How could he possibly be a shill?

Unless GW has discovered reverse psychology.
>>
>>51688591
Yeah dude. Calm the fuck down.

It hurts. As a 'Nid player, I feel like this is the closest GW is going to get to ever giving us our own terrain. Plus it looks cool. On the other hand, it's waaaaaay too expensive, even for 40k standards.

Rejoice instead - it means that we now can officially field our aquarium decorations on the table without anyone batting an eye, since the official alternatives are being as ugly as overpriced.
>>
>>51706509
I kinda just wish they released the different sections of the forest separately, rather than bundling them all together. I don't care as much about the Eldar ruins as I do the other bits.
>>
>>51706488
You know other places also make and sell terrain, right?
>>

Well, Cevin was also in Kirby's team
>>
>>51707826
At least he's not as bad as Kirby. On the other hand he still has a long way to go.
>>
>>51706572
Oh I know. Most of my terrain is non-gw. But I really want them to start making more non-imperial terrain, so I kinda want to encourage them by buying this.
>>
>>51707837
>At least he's not as bad as Kirby.
Well hard to say he is the less slowpoke than Kirby, yet still jewish at the same level
>>
>>51707984
Hoping that he'll get even less slowpoke as time goes on.
