What proofs have you? A flat planet wouldn't have nearly enough gravitational force to sustain itself, and wouldn't be stable, whereas an inverted pyramid has neither of these problems. Zak Sabbath of "Red and Plesent lands" fame made a post about of a cube planet lets you create lots of planes on a single planet.
Basically the atmosphere would still be a sphere even if the planet wasn't. So it would be basically be to thin to breath at the edges which would explan why most creatures wouldn't explore beyond the horizon.
