AoS has had decent art before, it just depends on the artist or what style you like.
>>
>>51665479
it's had like six or seven decent pieces so far, not counting the covers

what I hate the most about the art direction of AoS is that you almost never see cities or civilian scenes. As a result I have no idea what the fuck the world(s) looks like.
>>
>>51665595
Which makes sense once you consider that civilization was pretty much wiped out. Up until the current point in the timeline there weren't any cities to be covered (sure Nuhlamia... but that's death and it doesn't get coverage).

Now we are supposed to be seeing cities, and I guess the cover-box of Shadows over Hammerhall counts as.
>>
I decided to jump into AoS and looking at GA Death.

I fell in love with models that are spirits or filled by spirits like Mortis Engine, Morghasts, Hexwraiths and ofc Mortarchs.

Are small elite armies (I've tried scroll builder and for 1k points I could set up like 8 morghasts and mortarch as leader) playable, or I have to spam skellingtons and keep cool things as single additions?
>>
>>51665403
1. Never

2. I'm probably gonna start playing 40k with a mono nurgle daemon list until the semester ends or I can't take it anymore
>>
>>51665595
i believe it will come with time. It has only been a few years afterall, and it's not like WHFB had that many arts with civilians anyway (and the RPG helped too in that regard, for fluffing daily life stuff)
>>
What's the most disgustingly OP

As a stormcast tournament player, unless they are cheap as fuck or are mandatory into warrior bro 2.0, they wont see a table ever.

I'm trying to work out my counts as stuff for my "undivided" tzeentch army

Griff hounds as flesh hounds

Demi Griff mounts as Juggarnauts, trying to decide if the rider should be a Thousand sons styled storm cast, a horror or a tzaangor

>>
Currently on the GW website, Extremis Chamber has a 0 next to it. Sign of things to come or am I overreacting to a simple glitch?
>>
>>51665777
Flesh hounds, juggernauts... tzeentchian? I guess I'm missing something.

Use Kayric acolytes heads for the stormcast armor, paint thousand sons colours.
>>
>>51665795
I'd imagine they're going to dissolve it into the main Stormcast branch since they're consolidating all the Stormcast rules into the new Stormcast battletome.
>>
>>51665479
i love flagellants. kill a few, get lots of attacks
>>
>>51665725
-8 Desolators
-Stonehorn span + 3x10 savage
-Probably Beastclaw because of the above
-Probably Destruction/Order

In non comped tournament where FW is authorized, destruction easily.

I play Stormcasts and Sylvaneth kurnoth spam + 3 hurrricanum faggotery hate list.

Special mention to SHARTOR + BULLCENTAUR + DEATHSKRIEKER SPAM
Shartor+Sayl combo can kill half an army turn 1 if you are against horde armies.
>>
>>51665660
actually, most competitive armies in AoS are mostly elite/hueg monsters, with basic troops only here for the battleline tax
so just do it, and try it out !

Not bad, but very specific in what they do, which is savage an enemy warmachine crew or put the wammy on careless backline buffers.
For straight-up bashing there are better choices.
If they are battleline and priced between Judicators and Liberators I can see myself using a unit.

Also, Bravery 7 is neat. Maybe Liberators also got bumped up?

How can I convert my sigmarines to make them more volkisch and less WoWish?

I've considered giving some of them bare chests/arms from bloodbound figs but I'm afraid it'll make them look gay
and it still isn't enough to get that germanisch vibe to them.

>Abjuration
Worthless. One Priest can already unbind everything and the other has other duties.
>Bless Weapons
Pretty great. Cast this on Retributors or Concussors for maximum fun.
>Divine Light
Utility! Rerolling ones to hit is solid, but forcing rerolls of sixes is amazing.
>God-King's Aspect
Good against certain armies. The caveat is not particularly daunting and it's a bubble instead of targetted. A Lord-Veritant will be in the thick of it anyway, might as well make the most of him.

/AoSg/ I need your help! Im going to a tournament tomorrow, and I need help making a competative list! It's a 1000 points, General's Handbook, etc.

I need help making a good army out of what I have;
70 Skeletons/w spears
15 Tomb Guard/w great weapons
10 Ghouls
5 Blood Knights
5 Black Knights
5 Hex Wraiths
3 Vargheists
3 Spirit Hosts
1 Necrosphinx
1 Zombie Dragon
1 Coven Throne
1 Abbhorent Ghoul King
1 Flying Vampire
1 Necromancer
2 Tomb Kings
2 Tomb Wraiths
1 Banshee
1 Screaming Skull catapult

How do I make a army that is reasonably competative out of this?

Don't forget the 60-80 points you've left, they can be used to summon some skellingtons or zombies. If you like the look of spirits you can also paint your skellington horde in the same way gw paints spirits, the result is quite nice and they end up looking like a pic related

other wise it's plenty enough for 1k points
you may also want the flesh eater SC, if you like vampire you can assemble a vampire lord on dragon and vargheits for a good punch "and use the leftover ghouls as trophy/base decorations for the rest of your army"

I can BE A HOBBYIST and CONVERT MINIATURES instead of being a lazy faggot.

Besides, it's flat-out wrong to say that Stormcast Eternals flat-out aren't germanic heroes of legend, since they quite literally are heroes of legend reforged into supersoldiers by a germanic hero of legend.

But by all means, if you have found a super-secret AoS miniature range that happens to be made of nothing but Siegfrieds, do point me towards it.

Or just apologize for being in the wrong.

Between Neferata, a Vampire on Dragon with and Arkhan with a Necromancer to cast Dance Macabre on him wich one is better?

it depends on what you like.
as a general rule in AoS, you want minimum battleline with lots of heavy hitter, but you can make a nice bone zone by piling up skellies and buffing them
if you plan to buy the SCs though, you shouldn't go for bone zone, it would be a shame to waste all those nice units
>>
>>51666636
Having abundant battleline isn't that bad. They generally are the better way to get body count.

>>
Posted this before, burn I'll try again.

I'm working on the fluff of my Sylvaneth, which will determine how I paint and play them. Basically, I'm torn between Harvestboon and Winterleaf. I like how both theoretically play. One side has angry trees and the other has more potential for silly three magic.

The fluff in short is that a treeman ancient was slain a long time ago, shattered into countless splinters by a great warlord [not sure what yet], and a Branchwych and Branchwraith were born from the two largest. The two then go on to lead followers based on whichever house I go with, which includes a Treeman who fought under the felled ancient.

That's the basic idea, at least.

A Winterleaf group would be born of vengeance and hatred. The sisters arrive at the clan and gather followers to stalk the realms for the scattered splinters, killing those who would stand in their way. To find such a splinter is to risk their wrath for it is the embodiment of their ferocity.

A Harvestboon group would be born from a new beginning. A small grove marks the place of the ancients death, tended to by the sisters, who are guided to their house by a splinter at the grove's heart. There, they gather followers to find the lost splinters, leaving verdant bloom in their wake. To find a splinter is to risk the wyldwood, for it is the embodiment of life.
>>
>>51666898
Harvestboon as a way cooler paint scheme, and the story is less edgy, so I would go for them.
>>
>>51665759
Not sure I'd agree. If they cost 120 or so and battleline there are uses. Ten bolt shots should probably waste or at least cripple most warmachine crews and with some luck you might pull off a charge against a second target. And even if not, your opponent now has a bunch of Liberator-tier guys in his backyard. While not super-dangerous, it's not something that can be ignored either.
>>
>>51666865
What's the point if i'm gonna use those points on more skeletons anyway?
also summoning is a shit mechanic
>>
>>51666915

It's still a work in progress at this point, but I suppose Winterleaf in general is less edgy. How would I make it less so?
>>
>>51666890

>>
>>51666961
>A Winterleaf group would be born of vengeance and hatred.
>killing those who would stand in their way

I probably think it's how it's written, I mean of course it's Warhammer, it's grimdark and shit, and most fluff for most armies is basically this, but I think it look too much like *nothin p3rs0nal, kid* but it's mainly because your fluff is so short right now.

I do think he is right and Harvestboon has the better paint scheme.
>>
>>51667067

I think their schemes are pretty similar with a few warm greens traded for cool blues, at least in the book. However, the Dunc did just do a Harvestboon video, so maybe it's a sign. I might have more fun with Treesinging shenanigans anyway.

The fluff IS short, though. I haven't had time to sit down and properly flesh it out. Any ideas?
>>
>>51665414
What are you guys' thoughts on these? When I look at those, they seem almost mandatory against armies with artillery-centric gunlines and squisy support heroes, while being mostly worthless otherwise.
>>
>>51665904
I'm doing this for my Vanguard stormcast.

a) using Marauder and Space wolf heads, all bare headed or open helmed.

b) Dark almost gunmetal armour

c) weapons a shining silver to contrast the Gunmetal

d) cloth decals leather or tan

e) volnuts and celtic knots over arms and on shoulders.

I'll post on AoSg when I have finished

Maybe do lotr style and find a point of interest of a quest to do.
Flesh out the point of interest and why it is of interest and the connection to your army then find an arch enemy that want to destroy/steal something important and the rest will write itself.

Fuck, I miss that board. My old shop had one before it closed, and I had the joy of painting it. I would be a dick with my wood elves using that hill your Dracoth is on, and often time we'd make the big plateau in the middle, which was a favorite for the shop.

That was back during 7th and early 8th was when they closed. Damn shame. Now, several years later, a new shop opened, but in the year I've been coming here, I've played 3 games, all of which were 40k. It's a shame because the owner did get a modular board, though its the Imperial Sector. I've yet to paint it, but watching Duncan's video has inspired me at least.

Haven't tried any Battleplans from the GHB yet. I did do one from one of the Realmgate Wars books during the Summer campaign (only game I played that year), but that's it.

I know that using Battleplans are the ideal/recommended way to play AoS, though, so I aim to use one in my next game, or at least after I get used to playing again.

This piece is my personal favorite. Forgeworld was at the LVO and they were selling prints of various warhammer artwork. I happily picked this up.

I think this shows the character of the stormcast eternals very well. People call them soulless and golems, but I see extreme heroism behind a mask. The pose and everything speaks volumes that he still fights on even against an intimidating foe. I just like it.

Hmm the vanguard hunters seem to be in a weird place. I'm torn now between getting judicators or these guys.

Ideas? I'm thinking I'll need judicators anyways, so I'll get the 10 model new box, and then the hunters much much later if I feel like I need some mobility.

FWIW I only have the starter set + storm of sigmar box worth of stormcasts.
>>
>>51672509
>Ideas?
My idea is to not field them unless they are somehow 120points per 10 or part of a strong battalion like judicators.
>>
>>51672509
they don't fill the same battlefield role. Let me just put it this way: nobody will be taking the hunters because of their shooting.

People will take them because they can enter any board edge within a decent distance from an enemy. Their job is to harass enemy backline guns and wizards. Judicators are still needed for that ranged fire support
>>
Death best Alliance.
>>
>>51672620

I'd like to play spoopy ghosts but they're so horridly limited by models.
>>
>>51672596
>>51672607

Got it. Judicators and paladins then.
>>
>>51672607
but most battalion already deepstrike without scaterring.
And when you take that (mandatory) battalion theres literally no point left.
>>
>>51672607
>Their job is to harass enemy backline guns and wizards.

Except they'll be shot on sight the turn they come in if they do that vs any serious gunline, and you dont need them against a weak gunline anyway.

Master of all trade = terrible in competitive environment.
>>
>>51672660

They can run and shoot. Does that help in any way? I feel like prosecutors do a better job at harassing enemies, but I'm not sure, don't have much games with those dudes yet.
>>
>>51665414

Depends on their cost, but I could use a unit. Being able to come in 6" off any board edge before running and shooting is alright and their melee is nearly the same as liberators.

If they're <160 per 5, I'll think about it

If they're the same as liberators, we've got a viable unit

>>51672669
yeah, prosecutor with trident already do this better. that's why it will really depend of how many points.

IF (and thats a big IF) They are heap enough, i can see them replace the liberators instead of judicators, to have all all shooty list of some kind.

They can also somewhat work if the rumor of Judi and Libe being 10 minimum now is true and this guys can come in 5's for cheap.
This could make Extremis Chamber great again, as the only reason they do not dominate is the slow melee unit battelline that do nothing in the back while your extremis chamber get shot at if they wait or outnumbered if they charge.
Having cheap battline in the hunters that can teleport like that and a drop in point for a vexillor, could really make the Extremis a strong choice.
>>
>>51666514
Not FAQ, it's GH2.0
>>
>>51672660
If they murder a warmachine crew by shooting they've probably already made their points back, anything else they do will be a bonus.
And they are still a bunch of slightly better chaos warriors hanging out in the enemy's backline. While not amazingly durable, they'll still need some actual effort to be removed.
If they are battleline they're pretty reasonable, I feel. Very focused, but not without merit.
>>
>>51666763
Swap the 40 to spears
>>
>>51672840
>If they murder a warmachine crew by shooting they've probably already made their points back, anything else they do will be a bonus.

But anon, realistically speaking, either you face 6 Deathskreiker of doom in a corner and you cant ever hope to approach them because of the gunline protecting them,

or there is 1 warmachine that get shot to death by your deepstriking judicator with crossbow that can spawn just in front of the crew anyway.
Warmachiens were never a problem for stormcasts.
Even prosecutor can deal with them.
>>
>>51672791
Outside of certain battalions Prosecutors can't pop out behind the enemy though. The direct threat they can impose on support units is fairly significant.
But, yeah, the low cost of Prosecutors is pretty compelling and even then I barely ever use them.
>>
>>51672660
they target crew or weak wizards with their shots. Then they charge. Note they can come in within 7" instead of the usual 9", so that makes them a little better with charging.

Theyre not super good, but they were designed for a purpose
>>
>>51672893
>Even prosecutor can deal with them.

And then they can still be very useful with there great range and become late game objective takers
>>
>>51672893
True enough, I guess. Personally I more often experience a middleground with like two cannons and a mortar or something, but that's only anecdotal evidence.
Honestly, I just like not being locked into battalions and it probably shows.
>>
>>51672894
>>51672904

But nobody is going to let a nice hole behind its wizard if he clearly see you got hunters in the list... and actual scary wizard are either 14 wounds or flying so fast you wont touche them with a 9" range anyway... or both.
A lone wizard is easily dealt with by a normal warrior brotherhood and auto mortal wounds from paladins,, or judicators shots.

They just don't feel any gap, except a crucial one in an extremis based force.
At least that's what i see on paper.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I feel these guys would look way out of place next to the regular Vanguard Hunters. Not to mention I only have three of them as opposed to the MIN of five.
Maybe I should make them into a basis for a Hinterlands warband...
>>
>>51672947
Maybe massing them like 30 in a list of cavalry heavy force ?
You get all the battleline as near teleporting guys and can have a Stardrake or Aquilor.
That's basically a warrior brotherhood without the bataillon.

Pretty sure GW will come with a nice battalion anyway, but yeah, they dont look THAT good with the amount of info we have right now.
>>
>>51672947
Like I said, they're not super good. But I like a unit that has a quasi-deep strike without any battalion restrictions. Just having them in a list can force your opponent to perhaps adopt a most castling strategy, which is generally not good for objective games. Even if they come in nowhere near the squishy casters or gun crews, they are there in the enemy's backline and gives them something to think about for a few turns.
>>
>>51672963
Maybe you should make more, huh! Get on it!

Seriously though I like the look of those guys. Did you use prosecutor bodies?
>>
>>51672968
Yeah more i think about it and more they become a Liberator alternative.
>>
>>51673006
Nah I don't think of them as a liberator alternative, particularly because i doubt they will have the battleline trait. Also liberators are slightly more survivable. That reroll saves of 1 doesn't seem like much, but it's saved plenty. Also liberators I imagine will still be cheaper.

I'm predicting these guys may be 120 to 140 points for 5, more expensive than liberaotrs, but cheaper than judicators
>>
>>51673021
+1 Bravery, though. I mean, it's not much, but it is there.

I think people need to stop judging Hunters so hardly.

Allegiance: Death

Battleline
10 x Skeleton Warriors (80)
- Ancient Blades
10 x Skeleton Warriors (80)
- Ancient Blades

Units

Total: 620/1000
380 points for summoning
I can summon:
-20 Skellies+20 Skellies + 10 Zombies
-20 Skellies+20 Skellies + 5 Zombie Doggos
-Zombie Dragon+10 Zombies
-Zombie Dragon+ 5 Zombie Doggos
-2 Morghasts+3 Spook Hosts
-2 Morghasts+ 20 Zombies

Wich trait should i use? Red Fury makes Arkhan into a blender, even more with Dance Macabre while Ruler of the Night gives extra survivability if i want to summon more spookybones.
Are there any other good summoning options?

They can run and shoot but that increases their threat range from 15 to 15+D6. Given that they can teleport behind enemy lines, run+shoot isnt a big deal.

They might pair well with skyborne slayers since they would be able to deploy close by.

Blanche has done concept work for AoS, but I'm not sure of anything beyond that. He could be in the position where he is free to do whatever he wants and thus sticks with 40k, though I can't recall a new piece from him for it in quite some time.

Help me out here anons. For weeks now, this one guy has been wrecking everyone at our store. He runs pic related and I have no idea how to deal with it. I am a Bloodbound player, but I have seen it wreck nurgle, ghouls and elves.
>>
>>51675144
Are you kidding. Run and gun is more useful for backing fights as it allows you to run Ramsholt over the back line and the link up with your main push
>>
>>51675171
It'd be strange if the SC prayers were in addition to the standard prayers.
And, really, the Lord-Veritant's prayer is super-situational anyway, you'd be foolish not to take Bless Weapons, Divine Light or God-King's Aspect on him. Given his stats, he want's to be in the thick of it anyway, so may as well give him a paladin retuine and make the most of it.
As for the Lord-Relictor... I guess he is cheap enough to bring along as a Divine Light caddy for a gunline.
The big question is if prayers will be affected by the Rule of One in the GHB.
>>
>>51675386
What scenarios do you normally play?

Have you considered asking him to maybe use a different list if nobody can play against that one?
>>
>>51675566
What the fuck are you talking about

Run and gun is not some magical super ability that gives you an enormous tactical advantage, its just essentially extended threat range.

It's actually worse than having an extra D6" range, since you cant charge after running.
>>
>>51675625
They are not spells, so in the current edition of the GHB you can use the same prayer more than once.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned it. It seems like an oversight, especially considering how powerful some of those prayers are.
I mean, I wouldn't complain if they didn't restrict them, but realistically it'll need adjusting. We're already skirting the whole issue with the Lord-Castellant's stacking superior Mystic Shield-equivalent that auto-casts.

In general:
- Wrathmongers to make him beat himself to death

But BB have it rough in general.

9x Leadblechers (Gutbusters battleline)
9x Ogors (Battleline)
20x Grots
1x Grot Scraplauncha

If only the steelburnerpack had a cost you could crush this like, total hard counter.

Extremis chamber or paladins have enough damage to not care about the free models he spawn back every turn.

The usual shartor and friend or scaarac can deal with them easily too.
Same for a Magma dragon or kunnin rukk.

They also get hardcountered by tzeentch Skyfires as the bloodknight will NEVER be able to charge the skyfires.

Dont play seraphon but im pretty sure they have some fuckery against that
>>
>>51677578

Well they did say there were only 300 available, granted they don't say whether that is 300 in total or 300 for every region. We all know that it won't be changed.
Hoestly, I'm already pretty happy with the ~20% point reduction we get. In an ideal world we'd also get a non-hero Magmadroth rider, but I guess that's not in the cards, either.
>>
>>51677740
Not him, but it always boils down to range with blobs. Blood Warriors are large but have 1" range, meaning you'll rarely get the majority of the unit into combat. Split them in two to get more out of them.
>>
>>51677182
Never take Gnoblars in units of 20. 40 or even 60 could be good with the Tyrant's combat ability. I'm also not sure if Leadbelchers are better choice than standard ogors in such a huge numbers. I'd rather get more Ogors, especially in case you want to play mixed Destruction to add some nice Beastclaw monsters to your Ogres.

Supposedly the stuff in the campaign books will never get point costs as it represents historical regiements, exception situations and unique stuff; there was a statement about that when GHB was released last year, though I don't know how true that was.

No changes to the new gryphounds bar the Alpha adding a attack. MIN unit is probably 3 doggos as they get the Alpha at that size.

How does this work with Loayal Companion? Does the Alpha make 4 attacks as well when near a Lord-Castellant?

The 47 cost the same as 60.

>>

Are you dumb? Their ability allows them to either force the opponent to change his entire deployment strategy or to shoot and charge his precious war machines turn 1.
They're exactly the same as a Liberator in melee while having the exact same crossbow as a Judicator only with 3" lower range.

If these are Battleline, you will see these in every list, as, unlike Liberators, these guys don't slow a cavalry list down at all. In fact, thanks to them being able to take down war machines fast, they are great at making sure nothing ever punches through your Fulminators' 2+ rerollable save.

Except they're strictly worse.

Liberators get special weapons, can either reroll hit1 or save1, and +1 to hit against units with 5 or more wounds.

Liberators are actually decent in melee.

Here are some of the bases before painting. I use crafting foam which I cut into shapes (different ones depending on different units) and glue to the base, then add sand and stones and bits of cork.

And I'll be sure to drop in /wip/ soon when I continue on my current unit.
>>
>>51678332
And part of a bataillon that makes them autodeepstrike with no scatter and in front of the unit they could counter the most.
And they are battlelines.
It's been discussed already but the guy is still scrolling throught the thread.
>>
>>51678332
I'm going to point out, though, that liberators won't make shooting attacks. Hunters will basically make twice the number of attacks a liberator squad does, and half of them will be done without retaliation..
>>
>>51678359
And we don't know whether hunters won't be able to be battleline, or that they'll have a decent batallion.

So first let's look the units on the vacuum, whenever we get the rest of the data, we will make the hollistic judgement.
>>
>>51678315
It's mostly the camera and over lighting. After spraying it with leadbelcher the whole armour gets a Nuln Oil wash to darken it down, and then I layer Runefang Steel on the raised areas. I'll try to take a better shot next time.
>>
>>51678172
>the exact same crossbow as a Judicator only with 3" lower range.
They don't get bonus attacks if they don't move.
They don't get special weapons.

Stop.

>>51678377
2 shots each at 3+/4+ with no rend isn't very impressive. With 11 attacks in a squad of 5 you'll get 3-4 wounds on average, which gets reduced by armor saves.

>>51678397
I agree with this.

It's fine to look at them objectively right now because it will give us a baseline to judge their worth once battalions and unit synergies are introduced.
>>
>>51678332
Special weapons I'll grant you, but Liberators don't have pistols with the same profile as their melee weapons, giving the Hunters effectively 1.5 times the attack volume of liberators.
And let's not kid ourselves, nobody ever took dual weapons. It's shield or bust.
On top of that, Hunters get +1 Bravery which also helps to keep casualities down.

>>51675977
Sadly I went and built Skullreapers, even having extra from a Bloodstoker doesn't save me against those hideous saves on the Blood Knights. I need rend, rend and more rend it seems. It just so hard to charge them unless I am using cavalry as well. I had a grand plan to use a six man unit of Skullcrushers with glaives, but they failed their charge and were ripped apart by all 10 Blood Knights.
>>
>>51678488
>And let's not kid ourselves, nobody ever took dual weapons
Dual weapons are common in lightning strike lists for competitive play. They combo well with hit buffs like Lord Celestants command ability, their own ability that adds +1 hit against, and the Celestial Hurricanum.

Shields are good when you can get bonuses to your save, like Mystic Shield, cover, or the Lord Castellants ability.

They're both useful options. It depends how you want to use the unit. To say "nobody ever took dual weapons" is just false.
>>
I think it's safe to say that we can't completely judge the vanguard hunters yet until we get their points and battlefield role. And even then I don't think we can until we see if any of the battalions in the new book include them.

>>51678824
It's just a story prediction I have. With nagash weakening due to sigmar shenanigans, his power begins to weaken. This causes others to try to step in to become the new lord of the dead. Could be anyone like manfied or settra

I predict the next big summer campaign will be about it. When you play a game, you choose which side you are fighting for. Even sigmar recognizes there needs to be a lord of the dead, and the chaos gods will want one on the throne that they can manipulate or fight. All to find out who will be the next lord of the dead. Even if nagash gets dethroned, he will still be a powerful liche with his own faction and minions

2k.

The lore isn't a mess, it's just not for everyone. It is currently incomplete, but they were working on it. And it will be constantly evolving. Different from warhammer fantasy.

>>
>>51678940

its good to have on hand a 500, 1000, 1500, and 2000 points lists for pick up games. You never know the other guy has with him.
>>
>>51678921
Abhorash for sure, he's apparently mentioned as having trained the current generation of blood knights.
>>
>>51678940
I don't think it's a mess, on the contrary. Probably because it's not as explored and expanded as other lores, like WFB was or W40k is.

Give it time for more Battletomes to bring in the curse of retcons and Black Library authors to mess with it even more.
>>
I enjoy AoS much more than 40k right now and if they keep 40k mostly how it is now instead of using war scrolls I will probably still continue to like AoS more.
I'm not one of these people that feels like we have to continue to defend AoS from critics. If people want to be ignorant then I don't really need to convince them otherwise.
>>
>>51679015
I'm pretty much in agreement with you there. I find myself dreading playing 40k games, and I am hoping for a lot of change in 8th, if not, it will just become all the more discouraging. AoS still hasn't picked up in my area, and for no good reason. It's mostly "well someone on the internet said", and very few have given it a shot, especially since the GHB. So I try to always have an open invitation to anyone willing to give it a genuine shot, but so far nobody is willing to, and sticks to their broken-game-the-game. It's funny because all my local players remain just as discouraged about the meta and have this extremely anti-competitive culture within it. Which you would think was ideal for AoS, lol.

Hunter points cost to viability chart

>= 160 points per 5, very niche, might be okay with battalion but on the same level as hammer prosecutors

160 > X > 100: honestly not a bad choice for some cheap anti repeater crossbow tech. If they're battleline natively they are viable at this point.

100 points per 5: completely viable alternative to liberators without replacing them
