Come on /tg/ help a brother out, if not I'm just using The Coming.
>>
Aces & Eights is a good Old West (not Wild) system.

Dogs in the Vineyard is popular to use (i've never, though)

Dogs in the Vineyard sounds fucking fantastic.

Mad lib mormonism meets westerns.

Apocalypse World.

No, seriously. Some aesthics redesigning aside, post-apocalyptic shit IS 21 century western.

>angel: doc, we need help, Gus feel from the horse!
>battlebabe: that crazy sonofabitch who robs trains and likes doing it
>chopper: it's not the first rodeo for him and his cowboy pals, definitely
>driver: those caravans don't drive themselvs. Or: the indian guide.
>gunlugger: the baddest motherfucker around
>hardholder: the sheriff. Or the train baron. Anyway, he pretty much owns the town.
>hocus: they weren't exactly all nice, those pastors, right?
>savyhead: should be obvious
>maestro'd: should be REALLY FUCKING obvious
>skinner: even more obvious (tough I wouldn't shoehorn that to "saloon's star", if possible)

Ok, maybe don't use the brainer, I guess. Or make her the crazy witch out of town, whatever.
Just put out a front for "The Legit Power Down in the East" and voilĂ .

Seconding A&8. Horrifyingly crunchy, but brilliant. As a warning, avoid fights. If there are gunfights, make them between two people. Four AT MOST. That games combat system gets insane if you don't smooth it out.

I can recommend Dogs too, works great

If you don't mind things being a little war-gamey with minis and suff, Two Hour Wargames has Six Gun Sound, which is a hybrid RPG/war game set in the wild west, which uses their (excellent) Chain Reaction rules for combat. Haven't played it, but CR makes for some sweet gunfighting action.

(All THW games support GM-less co-op, too, which is a nice way for the forever GM to get a chance to play.)

Savage worlds/dreadlands
>>
>>51664886
Gurps
Tech level 4
I recommend cinamtic rules and advantages
High tech has gun porn if you need
Wildcard skills like COWBOY! and PROSPECTOR! are fun
>>

>horrifyingly crunchy

This. The game is amazing in most ways but the combat gets so cluttered so fast. Also I hope you like peripherals because you will use oh god so many for A&8. Still they are all pretty cool the shot clock being my favorite of them all.

Even to the point where I've considered implementing the shot clock into other systems...
>>
>>51664886
Deadlands
>>
>>51665555
I don't know, if I'm playing AW and no one picked Brainer then I really don't want to play. Nice quads btw.
>>
>>51664886
Legend of the Five Rings...rewrite all the katana-wank as pistol-wank, rename most of the stuff as appropriate and you're good to go.
>>
>>51665555
so the gunlugger remains exactly the same
>>
>>51673973

That's the point.

(also, muh first quads)
>>
>>51671559
This is the best, the system fits entirely with the Wild West theme, with cards used to determine stats and mechanics. I love it.
>>
>>51675413

weird =/= wild, son. if he wants to run a horror-themed weird-west game, that's what deadlands is. it isn't a clint eastwood movie recreator by very many means.
>>
>>51665594
>>51668297
the non-horrifyingly crunchy alternative is the 3rd RPG ever developed: Boothill RPG. Choose 3E though. highly recommended for those who want a classic RPG, aka no story-telling stuff.
>>
>>51668297
I love everything about A&8 except the shot clock. Always felt it was too inconvenient and cumbersome and the math was a bit skewed.
>>
>>51664886
I got a present for you, pardner. It's an Old West module for the FFG Star Wars game, which is amazingly good for this sort of thing.
>>
>>51667734
Gotta second GURPS, I played in a fantastic Deadlands game with it.
>>
>>51675479
Then use base savage worlds
