Yes, I agree that voting should be made once players have been selected. There's another compromise there - player prep vs. GM prep, in that a player might have to work a character up so it can be made with or without the material, but I think that's preferable as you say to people with not even an application in the game voting.

I can't really comment on trolls or negative motives for the voting as a whole, like using votes to discourage people. I think you'd have to evidence that was a real and present problem to use that as a reason not to have the votes.

All of them save the Phenomenal Prestidigitator are very much still in alpha, so feedback would be appreciated. Sorry for posting this in a few previous threads, trying to get some balance feedback as I know that the creator is the worst person to actually evaluate their own work.

I'm also currently working on some stuff for Upper Class characters (As I was rather disappointed with the High Court book actually offering stuff on that front). It's still in design though so it's not up for look over until I've got a bit more for people to read. Is there anything people would like on the upper class character front that Pathfinder doesn't do very well right now?

So, /pfg/, starting out a campaign at Level 5. I'm thinking instead of allowing new players to just spend starting wealth on magic items, I cut the starting wealth down and distribute magic items as nessecary. For example, giving the NG Cleric a +1 Holy [whateverweapontheyuse], a +1 armor of his choice, a few healing pots, a few scrolls if they have Scribe Scroll, some nessecary mundane items and like 1k gold just to speed up character creation. Is not letting them go ham on magic items with the giant starting wealth a bit too controlling?

So I have an odd request.

I need to turn my vitalist into a solo-combat capable character because reasons. Currently level eight.

I took the Soul Thief method and Life Leech archetype, and I took the Expanded Knowledge feat to gain access to Astral Construct.

I'm aware I can force something into my collective, but that never seems to work out well for me. I normally spend as many points as I can to augment Vigor and give myself a ton of temporary hit points and manifest the strongest astral construct I can. However that's usually about the most I can ever do barring a couple of story moments where my character was solo-fighting for a few rounds. However, a possible full one on one fight involving my character may be coming up and I want to be prepared, as this may be the culmination of a long role playing thing my character has been working towards.

Plus, it'll be nice to contribute more to normal full party combat more than manifesting Vigor on people and then spouting out a Construct (though I realize as a Vitalist that's kind of what I'm delegated to).

I like the idea of ripping off PFS scenarios to make adventures, but there's a fuckton of them to go through.

How do I find ones that are "good"? Does it even matter? I don't want to skim through all the level appropriate ones and then throw out that many hooks, but I don't just want to pick one or two at random and see how they fly.

How's this for a plothook.

A horde of lvl 3 orcs is approaching the lightly fortified township, and the mayor sends the lvl 1 PCs to finds the only lvl 10 wizard in the world to try and ask him for help. But he doesn't want to help, owing to a dispute between him and the mayor some years prior over some utterly trivial matter, like land rights or property taxes or something else completely petty and stupid.

Our martials and casters all got their chances to shine, and it was fun to build an empire from the ground up. The hook that gets everyone together was interesting too.

Word of advice: the adventure path expects at least one character to start with Disable Device, and have a method of dealing with ethereal enemies after the first few levels.

Oh! And any charisma-based martial character should invest in the feats to become a vampire, because it's absurdly fun and the campaign takes that power level into consideration.
