I'm going to be running an urban dnd game pretty soon and I need city ideas! Any city art, resources for running an urban game or just general ideas people have would be great!
What size is the city OP? 1M people? More? Less?

>running a game for friends
>having good laughs and everything is going smoothly
>one of the party members suggests leaving this location for another one
>roll for next location, turns out to be ravnica
>the moment i finish saying that word a flashbang grenade crashes through a window
>CIA bursts down my door and rushes into the room
>SWAT team are bursting in through every window
>there's just a lot of screaming and shouting
>a week later me and my group are sentenced two years of public service and a 10 million dollar fine
Copyrights are no joke.

>Several canals
>railway for ships to avoid a water current

Google "Invisible Cities" OP. Excerpts, pictures, the full book etc. it is comprised of surreal cities and a wonderful read.
>What makes Argia different from other cities is that it has earth instead of air. The streets are completely filled with dirt, clay packs the rooms to the ceiling, on every stair another stairway is set in negative, over the roofs of the houses hang layers of rocky terrain like skies with clouds. We do not know if the inhabitants can move about the city, widening the worm tunnels and the crevices where roots twist: the dampness destroys people's bodies, and they have scant strength; everyone is better off remaining still, prone; anyway, it is dark.
>From up here, nothing of Argia can be sen; some say "It's down below there," and we can only believe them. The place is deserted. At night, putting your ear to the ground, you can sometimes hear a door slam.

Is that some fucking lith harbor?
A medieval city which is rapidly industrializing built on an even older city.
What's not to love?
>>51583342
Looks more western to me.
>>51582146
Why? I think that fast food building that actually looks nice and fits its environment is miles better than another identical quickly constructed booth.

This must be a nightmare to navigate using sails.
>current bringing you closer and closer to the edge
>rocks and shallow waters all around the city, except for that narrow bridge
>when at the bridge entrance, you are fighting against currents pulling you both to the left and to the right.
>you hope very much the wind ain't changing now...
And to exit the city, you have to wait for a powerful wind to blow behind you or you won't make it...
>>51593650
Not to mention why is there a "moat" around it. Where does the water go to keep that moat open.

The best way is usually to find out what artists did the art, then finding their personal galleries.
