Dude the books were nowhere near as bad as the movies, it's like the directors wanted to shock kids. Blackavar, the doe that died on the way, the crazy depiction of the poisoned warren, the mad bloody fight between bigwig and woundwort. And then they made the plague dogs even WORSE. Speaking of which, that's a cap from the film version of Richard Adam's classic novel, Watership Down, a tale of the struggles of a group of rabbits to find a new home after their old one is destroyed.
It's awesome, but don't show it to very small children, it will terrify them. (Although I saw it at about 6 and still loved it, parts of it did scare the crap out of me)
