What's something that you could bring to the table that escapes
>bard with lute/can sing
I'm thinking about making a guy who can finger fuck the shit out of a zither with some traditional music from the orient ya know what I'm saying.
Get these bitches super moist with a song about how a fisherman fell in love with a rice farmer.
Hurdygurdies are pretty cool and portable.

I would push this.
Guqin is also one of my favourite instruments and quite mystical and special.
Its incredible sexy too.

There is a fighting scene in Kungfu hustle where the enemy Bard fights with a Gu Zheng(different kind of zitter)
And if you decide your bard had enough of it, you could always whip out the Theorbo.

Its like one of those new mememaschines on /gg/ only better because bigger.
Or the Nyckelharpa.

The sound would be somewhat experimental though.

Kantele. You can create a swamp by playing one.
Fiddles are also pretty versatile.
>>51546679
This sounds like old PS1 game music. It sounds like someone invented a reed instrument that makes MIDI noises.
My current party has a Panotti bard with a theremin.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3EPtUPcs8s
And not too long ago we met a bard with a saxophone.
>>51543657
That bastard has the hair I'm trying to grow right now. Why am I cursed with a double crown damnit
I wish I could say bagpipes, but really they don't sound right without the drums.
So I guess sitar would be my pick. Partly because I like how large they are.
>>51547145
How would electronic instruments work?
You always carry speakers?
>>51547223
Pretty sure the speaker's usually integrated into the Theremin. At least the one I worked with at a museum was.
>>51547223
Theremin has built in speakers.

It really just sounds like an accordion, which makes perfect sense. Instead of pumping air into it, you blow it in.

Been trying to get into metal for ages, dunno why but I just find the occasional gem that makes me willing to sift through the stuff I don't like. You got any more stuff like that or how I could find it?
these are the best threads on /tg
>>51547845
avoid anything that is only described as 'metal' or 'rock', unless you are a tremendous metalhead you will most likely think it's super generic and shitty sounding. Find a band you like, look up the stupidly unique genres it get ascribed (like Symphonic Death Metal or Mathcore) and find related bands. In my experience 80% of metal genre descriptions are either how the singer sings or how the guitar sounds
>>51547845
I dunno, make a Pandora station and let the Likes/Dislikes guide you from there?
If you like the extremely fast "Technical Death Metal" like that (In that case considered "Extreme Technical Death Metal, as dumb as the name isl), there's a few others that come to mind. There's a million different subgenres of "metal" so really it's just a matter of finding what you like and going from there.
Rather than just speed and screaming for the sake of it I like music where the vocals hit a tempo where it fits the instrumentals rather than just rambling.

Septic Flesh is actually a really interesting band even if you don't like the genre since they blend different things together in ways you wouldn't expect, here's a video I'd say is an interesting watch even if you don't like the genre since there seems to be a misconception that "metal" is just blind noise for the sake of it without any thought.

Highland bagpipes, because the music should be a weapon.
>>51547845
Look up folk metal. Korpiklaani should be at the top of the list.
Avoid anything with the -core suffix, because that means it's shit.
>>51546962
Would it be possible to make a more portable version, maybe one or two cats max?
You could fit a lot of cats into a bag of holding, but that would probably affect the sound quality.

I dunno what it is. I can't can't get into this super speedy metal. I love stoner and sludge metal, but this stuff just doesn't do it.
>>51549467
Different strokes for different folks I guess, personally I used to listen to slow stuff mostly but as time went on I started liking faster pace stuff.
There's enough bullshit subgenres of metal that there's at least one that someone will find at least tolerable.
