What is adventurer garb? My character wears traveling gear when he needs to, normal clothes on Downtime, and armor when he expects a fight.

>Do you think "adventurer garb" is fashionable amongst nobility? What quantifies as adventurer garb?
I find it likely that it's seen as fashionable by those nobles that fancy themselves as "explorers" and "heroes". So basically any nobility seen wearing it could easily be called a poser.

As for what it constitutes, I imagine there's three levels. cloth would be intricately designed robes, meant to make you look magical, like a wizard or sorcerer or something.

Then there'd be leather; this'd be the most common to wear for posers, since it doesn't have the "you can't back this up" of magical looking garb and isn't heavy shit like plate armor. lots of belts and straps, pouches for various things, and of course a bow and/or sword, which should also be relatively decorative. Toss in a cloak with a nice, high collar and you're done.

Finally, heavy armor. Likely the one least in use among the nobility as a fashion choice due to its weight and cost, it'd essentially be parade armor - real fancy, but not actually that useful.

I doubt actual adventurers would appreciate the poor attempts to emulate them.

Actual adventurer garb or perceived adventurer garb?

How do orcs know what a menu is? Do they have restaurants in Mordor?
>>
>>51475054
No but elves, men, and hobbits do. They incorporate some words from captured men and occasionally elves to make fun of them.

Men and hobbits mostly just have taverns and inns, but elves have some very fine restaurants that few outsiders know of.

You gotta be an elf-friend for like a century before they even mention it.

You'd think that, but piracy was actually fairly unisex; you could go a very long way as long as you could carry a gun and look scary, as well as have some other job aboard the ship (usually the cook or treasurer, although some women were recorded as being cannoneers or otherwise always on the combat rounds). The main thing that stopped women being pirates was actually the superstition that if she got pregnant, something would capsize the boat. As such, most women were actually safer from rape than particularly-cute dudes, since you couldn't upset the sea by buttfucking a twink.
>>
Curious, are there any ways to overcome the penalties to being a larger size? I mean a -1 penalty to attack rolls and AC isn't the end of the world, but if I have a simple enough way of bypassing that then all the better.

There is Vera Vonizen as a pure human as well as Mary Oswald. There is only barely more male humans than that. If you include 'Unusual but pretty normal looking' (As a lot of the human-looking males are Aasimar) you can add Jennifer Teague to the female side too.

You are, historically speaking, correct.

There have been a few famous female pirates. Combat and banditry are typically male professions, but even melee combat on a ship tends to be a fast, brutal, and unarmored affair where strength matters little compared to savagery.

Women can do most of the jobs on a ship with little difficulty, provided they're stocky and strong.

Well women are always vicious, but men tend to not mind/care at all in a lot of "man fields" like construction; it's often other-women more than anything that will try to keep them out of it.

>>51475729
on TV they've been the rule rather than the exception for quite a while, and them pretending they're still the exception on some of those shows is pretty heavy-handed.

however, there's a LOT less women in STEM fields than men - not because of men, but because the women themselves often have less interest.

A lot of them - not all - but a lot of them quickly get the hell out. It's not the men chasing them out, rather, if anything, it's the men failing to run the fuck away with them. The death marches, the insane schedule crunches, being treated like complete shit by those idiots who get paid more than you because their job is to forget their password and say that it's your fault...

Men are willing to put up with far too much if it'll put bread on their family's table.

TV shows are usually made by comfy committee cucks living in California who go by the numbers rather than actually making something that might not sell.

Bull, NCIS (all three of them), Lethal Weapon, even MacGuyver are all soulless cash grabs using basic formulae to get people tuning in - it's why they're called PROCEDURAL cop dramas, and these scenes or characters have been stock since the 90s. It's why people still think "the white-haired badass white male lead seems mildly surprised the genius hacker or chemist or mastermind is actually a woman" is a surprising thing to see, or the hacker being an alt-girl and dorky guy is compelling character concepts (I'm looking at you, NCIS Los Angeles and NCIS.)

This.
It's not even sexism, it's "what the fuck have I been doing with my life nothing is worth this".

Hell, my SISTER became a fucking trophy-wife, who now only works part-time at a bakery, and more for the fun of it than anything (she's not in the front serving clients, she actually can bake nowadays. Back in highschool, not so much). Let's just say she maxes out new characters in MMOs at almost twice my speed.

My previous boss (well, two jobs previous now) was relatively plain, and if she'd given me the opportunity to be little more than a human dildo that cooks and cleans, I'd kick what's left of my dignity in the balls, only to realize it's already gone and moved in with her. She was agreeable enough, it would've been a fine fucking life.

There are some things, as we age, that we realize were never worth it, or could have been done better, or would have been worth having but instead we fought against.

But, that's growing up... or, uh, midlife crisis resolution. At some point you learn to accept that you fuck up, that you often have really stupid ideas, and if you haven't killed yourself already years ago, you learn to love yourself for who you are - what's left of you - rather than spend all day hating yourself for not being what you think maybe you'd rather be labled as.

Skinner's often wrong... but also sometimes right.

Allow me to correct you real quick;

Women get into nursing and then get out real, REAL quick. The turnover rate on nurses is insane. A lot of us can't handle the stress and snap.

The only reason I've been a nurse so long is that I am a sociopath and neurologically cannot suffer post-traumatic stress. They pay me extra to tell people that they're going to die in three months, and the other nurses having emotional breakdowns doesn't affect me in the least.

Rules come off as control freak, right off the bat.
The GM straight up says "If you're in this role, you get a free pass over anything else, because I want my Guts Expy. Or get fucked and play an archer." If you want PoW.
Both of those are totally unappealing. Skill monkey role is going to come down to the same 2-3 classes (Investigator, Alchemist, Bard) if you want to even partake in the same game as everyone else.
In the end, it's not even 'Berserk-esque', it's "I want D&D 4e, but I'm afraid of what everyone will think of me if I actually say I play it."

So you need to make specific archetypes with specific parameters.

It's actually valid question I have had people say hey please reign in your stuff, or please don't overly optimize. I see nothing wrong with asking the question since the gm wants very specific things
>>
>>51476600
Hey. GM here. I can see what you mean by this, and I agree that it can appear that way, so I would like to give my explanation behind this. I'm not a huge fan of Path of War or most Third Party shenanigans. Mostly, it ramps up the power level of the campaign to obscene degrees. I'm trying to avoid full Path of War progression, since we are starting at a fairly high level, and I want to keep the game somewhat grounded. If I allow any other PoW content, we are full Shounen anime status in a few levels. However, without Path of War, some players see Martials as too limited, so I have allowed an avenue to attain it in a limited scale. I've allowed the Ranger something to keep up in DPS, and allows for some switch hitting if they don't want to focus on being Ranged DPS. That and Ranged DPS already is mechanically very solid, even without PoW. Everybody else either has class abilities or spell casting, so they have avenues of versatility or optimization to focus on there.
I basically want a well rounded party, so that everybody can feel important in the game. If I know what I want going into the game, I can more readily prepare and balance content for them.
>>51476618
Magic and magic items are going to be pretty rare in this setting, and I want them to feel like they have a huge impact. Plus, it opens up items that would normally be sub-optimal. I don't want this game to be about "Get this number as high as possible." So I am giving people this instead and letting people focus on other aspects of their character.
>>
>>51476661
Maybe given the right circumstances, and she /was/ a clingy and constantly fawning for affection from my brother when he was still around, but an absolutely abhorrent lying sack of shit to the rest of us if she had the smallest excuse to be. Like, going back on major promises to her own children tier.

If I sound bitter it's because I am. I had to stand there while she promised her own kids that they'd be back in a month, only to not even get to skype them for a year.
>>
>>51476724
Would you prefer he ask about Blood Money/Sacred Geometry/Magdh and shit like 2hu?
>>
>>51476771
That very, very much depends.

A longbow archer is mechanically very solid.

The poor son of a bitch trying a vital-strike crossbow build like the iconic ranger is just fucked.

The gunslinger is also fucked.
>>
>>51476771
>I'm trying to avoid full Path of War progression

What you do is allow the PoW archetypes for non-PoW classes, which give a slower progression and up to 6th level instead of 9th level maneuvers.
>>
>>51476771
>Magic and magic items are going to be pretty rare in this setting, and I want them to feel like they have a huge impact. Plus, it opens up items that would normally be sub-optimal. I can understand this, but automatic bonus progression is really bad as it fucks martials in the ass.

Different characters want different things faster. ABP doesn't give you any variability.
>>
>>51476771
Your rules are still overly specific with a high chance for people to not get in by virtue of each archetype will only allow for one player to play it.
>>
>>51476816
>I can understand this, but automatic bonus progression is really bad as it fucks martials in the ass.

As somebody else, I'm curious about what makes it so bad.
>>
>>51476528

How is your strength btw? Intimidating prowess allows you to add it to intimidate checks in addition to charisma. It can be worth it for two-hander builds.
>>
>>51476771
What is your reasoning on not allowing DHB's shit?

It seems to be exactly what you're going for.
>>
>>51476844
Basically martials want good weapons and good physical stats quickly. Most martials will never spend the cast on a +4/+2 mental headband until later levels.

ABP gives you a package of abilities you have no control over dictating.

If it gave you something more akin to a virtual money pool to draw from I'd be happier.

Basically I don't want 4k of my virtual gold to go to a mental headband at level 6 rather than a physical.

Also mental stats progress faster than physical in ABP.

If it even had packages for different archetypes I'd be happier.
>>
>>51476844
>Locked Progression that cannot be altered and gives you basically NO choices, it can only be made to progress "faster"
>Weapon/Armor/Shield Attunement is GARBAGE and fucks over anyone who wants to have any kind of weapon/armor quality
>Nobody who wants to use it ever bothers to say they're going to even TRY fixing either of the above, let alone any of the other problems
>>
>>51476844
Start with the fact that it's fixed to the same table for everyone. So, mental stats come first.

It's also a much slower weapon/armor progression than regular magic items.

And it doesn't let you adjust things to what you might actually need.
>>
>>51475902
>it's often other-women more than anything that will try to keep them out of it.
I'm watching this happen at a restaurant I currently work at.
Decently midhigh end place, there is one girl in the back. She's an alright worker, but she completely lost her shit when we heard talk of one of the front house servers coming back into the kitchen.
The hate and malign that she seethed at the idea of another woman being in the kitchen, from this 5', 100lb alt-goth girl sorta scared all the dudes, and when I tried to ask what was the issue, I got, and I quote:
>"I WILL BURY THAT BITCH IN THE OIL DUMPSTER WITH HER FUCKING KNIVES"
She didn't even know who the girl was, they had never met before.
Bitches be trippin.
>>
>>51476844
My martial doesn't want a +6/4 mental headband when they could be spent on other things.

Attunement fucks me royally if I want my weapon to do something besides hit things.
>>
>>51476771
Then don't use Berserk as your example?
Berserk goes full fantasy bullshit after Golden Age. Magic armors that keep you alive indefinitely and make you into a monster. Magic girls who know ancient rituals, fairy kingdoms with Queens who can delve into the psyche of mortals, and shadow beasts that try to assassinate gods.

But it's not even slightly interesting the way you've decided to handle it. It forces anyone who even wants a chance to play to write -four- times as many characters, and that's bullshit.
>>
>>51476849

My group is starting a new campaign soon and one of the other players has shown me his character, there is a problem I would like to address before he takes it to the GM.

His character is an orc (or half orc, I forget) that is large sized. He claims he got that size legally, within the game rules. Having done some research I can't find any way for him to have done that without applying templates (without GM approval). Wouldn't be the first time he's tried that.

Is it possible for his character to be large sized legally, or is he being "that guy" again?

(No 3pp without GM approval, which I know he doesn't have)
>>
>>51477004
Huh. I'm glad that you think manga is real, but I was referring to the context of the setting.
>>
>>51477023
Permancied Enlarge Person at character creation costs like 4k gold or something in that ballpark.
>>
>>51477016
Nothing about the archetypes actually prevents anyone from stepping on each other's toes.

I can build a character that fits skill monkey that fights as well as Big Guy, or shoots as well as Ranger.
>>
>>51476816

How badly does it fuck martials in the ass?

Does a ZweiSent cease to function at level 7 without their belt +2 or Cloak?
>>
>>51477065
Being dead has a tendency to make you cease to function.
>>
>>51476876

Hmm, to be honest if I use it I might make the WBL a bit over half to compensate for the rigidity, but for the most part the bonuses are handy for near everyone. I would definitely loosen a few parts like allowing people to swap the mental and physical bonuses if needed, though. Pretty much any class benefits from both, but the order should vary.

I was thinking about using the ABP if I ran Reign of Winter. The PCs get the mantle of the Black Rider pretty quickly (with a quick stat boost), so something like it could represent their growing supernatural nature - and they go to some pretty weird places, so it could be that there is just less magical gear than normal there.

>>51476946
Ah, no point then. It could be handy if you had 16 or higher and planning to specialize in two-handed weapons like the headman blade.
>>
>>51476974
>>51476982
Maybe that's because 1pp is just as overpowered, broken, and busted as you perceive 3pp to be and you're just retarded.

Go play 5e if you want 1pp only pathfinder.
>>
>>51477084

Explain how it kills you.
>>
>>51477065
Over the course of leveling up a fighter, by level 10 is far weaker than he would be. Same with any other non PoW martial. Even PoW Martials are much weaker.
>>
>>51477065
The problem is one of versatility - we all know that versatility is power; it's the entire reason why spellcasters are so strong.

The trick with ABP is that it destroys your ability to choose how you want things set up and enchanted. what if I DON'T want to burn some cash on a +2 physical stat item? what if I just want a really nice cloak? And then there's limiting cash, which in turns limits other things I could do - I have a golem maker character in one game and there's no way she'd be able to maintain, upgrade, and craft her constructs without the extra gold she has.
>>
>>51477091
Your defenses are worse across the board due to not being able to spend money on what you need and instead getting a prescribed list. The higher level it goes the more this becomes pronounced.
>>
>>51477109
The thing I do like about ABP is it gives you the ability to give your players cool shit instead of making sure mobs drop the right headbands and + swords of goblin slaying.
>>
>>51477065
Depends on how hard you tend to cheese magic items.

For 80% of people who are just going to get your belt/cloak/headband combo, it works great. Just allow martials to choose physical stats first.
>>
>>51477158

I'm part of that 80%, which is why ABP always sounds wonderful to me.

So what if I can't enchant a sword with flaming? People never do that anyway, and if I really wanted a fire sword I'd do what the big boys do and ask my DM really nicely.
>>
>>51477158
I disagree highly. Weapon/Armor/Shield attunment is strictly worse than just buying them by a big margin. Having an interesting weapon in punished in APB.

Also there are so many interesting items. Wanting to have cool items that do cool things isn't cheese.

Or items required to make specific builds function at all.
>>
>>51477155
That's a fair point, but if I was to run ABP, I'd roll it with about 75% gold rather than 50% gold, so that the players have some extra breathing room with which to grab shit. it'd feel better to everybody involved.
>>
Post nobles dressing like adventurers
>>
>>51477184
>Or items required to make specific builds function at all.
If your build REQUIRES a specific non +X item to function it's probably cheese.
>>
>>51477178
If your answer to bad design is saying "just use mother may I" then I have no idea how you think it has great design.

No really please explain your reasoning on why ABP is great. I want to understand why you think that because at the moment I can't formulate an argument because the only reasoning I can see to using ABP is laziness to not making it a better system.
>>
>>51477200
>I want Dex-to-damage without being stuck being a Rogue or using a scimitar
>Agile weapons are cheesy then
>>
>>51477200
Yes, because TWF is cheese now?

Any crit based fighter is cheese?

Any ranged build is cheese?

Do you want all Martials to be two handed weapon and full attacks with nothing else.

Seriously how can someone have this asinine of an opinion?
>>
If you're going to INSIST on using ABP, what you should probably do at bare minimum:
>Speed the progression of the chart up some, but don't use this as an excuse to have magic items and overall gold be gimped to fuck, the chart's there to cover the "MUST HAVE" bonuses assumed by the system so you don't have to worry about handing them out
>Don't fuck over the martial who wants to use that Keen Flaming Scimitar he picked up. Attunement covers his flat +1's, it shouldn't vanish because he picked up a magic weapon with qualities that AREN'T +1's.
>let martials pick up physical stats before mentals

This does not make ABP "good", it just makes it not unusable garbage
>>
>>51477214

I like not having to put a fancy headband on just to stay relevant, or wear the same belt literally everyone else at my level is wearing.

I like having stat boosts without the items associated with them.
>>
>>51477236
>>51477224
>no +X item
That obviously means weapons and armor enchantments. Try again.
>>
>>51477238
Today on people who can't read the rules. This removes +1 bonuses from the game. Gone. Nada. They don't exist. Any magic bonuses will be properties like Keen, Flaming, Radiant, Vorpal and the like. So when you pick up a magic weapon, it will be a Flaming Scimitar, not a +1 flaming Scimitar
>>
>>51477245

>>51477270

but this is shit like enjoying the fighter class - Wizard is objectively better, no matter how much you enjoy your preference.
>>
Besides general dumbassery. If the assumption was that you're going to/should get the perfect stat up items EXACTLY when you need them. Why not just bake it into default "naked" progression in the first place?
>>
>>51477340
Because Wizards was a bunch of retards who didn't run their game very well, and Paizo picked up their game when they decided to abandon the bad system.
>>
>>51477270
>>51477285
and because you're going to go "but where does it say that retard", here

>Any weapon, armor, or shield special abilities on attuned items count against a character's enhancement bonus from attunement. To determine an attuned magic item's enhancement bonus, subtract the cost of its special ability from the enhancement bonus granted by attunement. (This applies only to special abilities whose cost is equivalent to an enhancement bonus, not to those that cost a flat amount of gold pieces.)
>For example, if a character with a +3 enhancement bonus from weapon attunement wields a keen scimitar, she subtracts 1 point of her enhancement bonus (for the cost of keen), leaving her with a +2 keen scimitar.
>If a character doesn't have enough of an enhancement bonus to afford the special ability (such as a 4th-level character with a vorpal longsword), she can still use the weapon's power on its own, but the weapon gains no enhancement bonus.

IE: Your +2 Attunement bonus to attack/damage vanishes the second you pick up that Keen Flaming Scimitar. Because go fuck yourself.
>>
>>51477334

>>
>>51477319

I'm 99% sure 'A source of flight' is needed past level 10 just to function. For most martials, that's an item.

I just don't exactly see why you're badmouthing ABP and subtly trying to suggest people not use it, when people like myself find it's one of the few things that actually do what I want to do? That's kind of shitty behavior, dude.
>>
>>51477384
>ABP fucks over anyone wanting a weapon enhancement besides +X.

When the hell do you ever see anyone actually spending their hard earned murder dollarydoos on non-X weapon enchantments? Sure, I've seen a COUPLE Keens in my day, but more often than not you only get that flaming sword when the DM jams it in your hand after a boss battle.

We object to people using ABP AS-WRITTEN, because as-written it's absolutely terrible. If you adjust it, it can be perfectly serviceable, but nobody ever actually fucking says they're adjusting it. They just whine about people saying it's shit as-written.
>>
>>51477394

It's pretty damn specific if you go 'I need a source of X' where X is as specific as flight or invisibility.
>>
>>51477369
Yes and ABP fucks you over if you need keen/agile/furious/cyclonic/etc.

Lets say this:
>I want Belt of Mighty Hurling to make thrown weapons functional
That is cheese because it isn't a +X weapon.

>I want Slate Spider to make guns functional
That is cheese because it isn't a +X weapon.

>I want any of the myriad of items that make mounts not garbage
This is cheese because it isn't a +X weapon
>>
>>51477396
>people still make fighters
Here, it's usually because Silver Blade Myrmidon Drill Instructor Lorewarden Eldrict Whatever the fuck is barely even a fighter anymore.

Otherwise, it's because they don't know better.
>Dexterity is objectively better, and yet people still make Strength builds.

In 1pp no it's not. In 3pp only in certain instates, such as you being a TWFighter.
>>
>>51477396
Personal preference can not be helped, but overall abp will be worse then actually just going with standard, that is why it is a variant system that few people use. If it works for you good, use it, but if it is objectively more constraining in a game were versatility is king it is a bad option.
>>
>>51477418
>When the hell do you ever see anyone actually spending their hard earned murder dollarydoos on non-X weapon enchantments?
Literally every game I see at least one of keen, agile, furious, cyclonic, seeking, vicious, or guarding. For armor I see a ton of things.

Fucking hell.

>>51477396
>Dexterity is objectively better, and yet people still make Strength builds.
Incorrect, Dexterity is much more feat heavy and doesn't put out as much damage. So they both have their strengths.

>Dexterity is much more feat heavy and doesn't put out as much

Nah, in the long run Dex is probably better for you even if you are missing a few scant points of DPS.
>>
>>51477418
I always invest in bonus damage over more pluses, you can have a greatsword that does 1d6+3 damage or a greatsword that does 2d6+1+1d6 fire+1d6 acid. You lose two attack bonus and have a harder time with dr, which you can just mitigate with money by investing into adamantine before enchanting.

Mark does not mind if you homerule the ABP a bit
>>
>>51477313
Depends
Do you have a system that prevents dead rolls?

Example. My table likes rolls but can see how bad it can get, so we have a "+7 min, +12 max" 2d6+6. Where your combined rolls have to match or be greater than +7 but not be more then +12 in mod bonus.
Like someone with
14: +2
15: +2
10: 0
8: -1
18: +4
17: +3
Would be good to go but someone with
12: +1
11: 0
15: +2
13: 1
10: 0
9: -1
Wouldn't meet the min +7 mod total, so the player would need to reroll.
>>
My issues with ABP is:
>gives no variability to help make specific mechanically weaker builds function including thrown weapons, mounted combat, firearms, reach, crossbows, etc.
>screws you over if you want a weapon/armor/shield enhancement that isn't +X
>doesn't allow any customization for when you get your items

Also a character who literally can not wear armor still gets an armor attunment.
>>
Also Mark suggested to use this blog post's chart for equipment if you don't mind doing some math.

it is more accurate.

>>

Weapon Finesse, Deadly Agility, TWF line

That's 5 feats you need the Str guy doesn't.

>probably got a class feature that lets me take this shit up for free anyway.
Basically only rogues.
>>
>>51477443
>1pp no it's not.
It really is hell vigilante can get class level to damage with finesse weapons as one of their class bouses, in addition I think it gets finesse as part of that ability.
>>
>>51477484
Name classes besides rogue that give weapon finesse/dex to damage for free. They are very few.

Most require specific archetypes of classes.

Also TWF is a concern.

Also you still need a power attack equivalent.
>>
>>51477535
And stalkers.
>>
>>51477535
You don't need twf firstly you are probably pow if deadly agility is around which favors single attacks as standard actions, secondly scarlet throne style with power attack is a better investment unless you have a gimmick.
>>
>>51477448

Then how am I supposed to actually get stat boosts without wearing the stat-boosting item?

That's the thing, I want the bonus of a Belt of Giant's Strength without wearing the Belt of Giant's Strength.
>>
>>51477548
>citing Lethal Grace as part of your argument
>when Lethal Grace benefits from having good Strength

nice try
>>
>>51477560
Vigilante gets class level to damage on finesse attacks, which scales better then dex to damage anyways.
>>
So I missed something, somewhere.
What's APB?
>>
>>51477594
Not only benefits from strength, it flat out doesn't work if you're not using strength for damage.
>>
>>51477594
Lethal grace wants high dex more than it wants high str it is worded that way to discourage things like finesse training plus lethal grace.
>>
>>51477583
If we're talking about 3pp then I agree. Str is blown out of the water by dex. PoW invalidates Str for the most part as anything but a mechanically weaker stylistic choice.
>>
You can just use Innate Item Bonuses if you want both removing Big Six and freedom what stats you get
>>
>>51477623

Well, save that Stalker class and how it can get Str to AC and Ref saves.
>>
>>51477368

If I read this right, if your attunement caps at +2, and you somehow get a +1 keen flaming scimitar, it becomes a +0 keen flaming scimitar until you "unlock" the +3 attunement, is that right?

>>51477313
Should be okay as long as the power ratings don't differ too much.

BTW, what about having 3-5 pre-rolled arrays which players can use (choosing what score goes where, of course)? This way they have some variety, without there being too much inconsistency in rolls.
>>
>>51477633
Still doesn't help the fact you can't get specific items that you need to make certain kinds of weapons functional (thrown, firearms, twf (if not 3pp), crossbows, shields) or easily get enchantments that aren't +X.
>>
>>51477609
Know what gets str to hit? Touch spells does this mean str is a worthwhile investment for wizard? No, is str a good investment to most magus? Just because something makes something else better does not make it a worthwhile investment.
>>
>>51477604

automatic bonus progression iirc
>>
>>51477087

>headman blade

That's an interest one. Is there any other weapon suited for slayers characters?
>>
>>51477604

Automatic bonus progression, from Unchained.

Basically, the WBL gets cut in half, and the bonuses of the big 6 typical items and weapon/armor enhancement are built in the levelling.

I like the idea, but I don't know anyone who has actually tried it out and could give some feedback on how well it works in practice.
>>
>>51477651
In the "ABP System", weapons don't have any +1's, the flat +1's only come from Attunement. You can pick up a weapon that's a "Keen Scimitar", and your +2 attunement drops to +1 because your sword has Keen on it. Because FUCK YOU.
>>
>>51477652
I don't see how Innate stops that in any way the default system does not too
>>
>>51477682
The version in the book that causes that is easier on the book keeping.
You can use the blog version to have Keen Scimitar +2 that shifts the enchantment bonus based on the character's attunement level.

Etan and Aranha discuss the finer points of being animals!

Casimir daughters the twins!

Quinn and Val go out on the town!

Onryou gets triple teamed by Rubio, Seht and Corwin!

So now I have to build a character for 5 games.

I have decided on one for each I think:

>Sky Pirates
Vanara Spirit Summoner/Focused Hunter Vigilante VMC Witch styled as the ship's voodoo witch doctor

>WotRaunchy
Drowner Devil descended tiefling Asmodean Advocate/Ordained Defender Dervish Warder with the Divine Virginity feat. Orphan of the Goblinblood wars raised in the Asmodean church and sent as a representative.

>Crusaders
Dynamic Striker Vigilante/Toxicant Alchemist Taldan Lion Blade operative designed to be entirely functional and highly dangerous while unarmed.

>Assassins
Symbiotic Slayer Vigilante/Shadow Mystery Oracle spooky assassin. The character himself is Tn while the ooze sapience is CE and extremely hungry. His oracle curse is hunger as well.

>Berserk Game
Settled on an alchemist for the skill monkey, likely a bomb based battlefield control alchemist as the mercenary company's siege engineer.

Any of these sound too terrible?

Is that child abuse itself? You've abused the adult by making it a child, but you haven't abused a child yet.

Lads! The following contains spoilers for Jade Regent, be warned!

There is a super special event at the end of Book 1 for Jade Regent where the party each receives a special, customized item.

Who do you think should receive what?
>>
>>51478945
Noooope. You can stack them when at least one is typed.
>>
>>51479025
>not knowing about the rule barring the same bonus stacking even if typed differently

So in Snows of Summer in the Pale Tower would it be completely uncharacteristic for Radosek in horrid desperation and fear of failure to tell his men to set fire near the base of the tower in hopes of collapsing it while the PCs are researching the leylines? I know my will just ignore as Radosek flees and sends the dragon statue after them because they will dismiss him being a threat for having fled from their mighty party and just try to deal with the portal while Radosek is in the courtyard.

I think it has to be the latter since a torture dungeon isn't even involved in the proposal. Anon may be naive but nobody is naive enough to think loading weapons is the absolute pinnacle of worst things you can do to a kid.

That must be a custom Jade Regent, because I only remember the one "here's a shitton of free healing" item.
>>
>>51479111

Nope, you get the Dragon Seal *and* custom items each member was "destined" to have.

Ah,okay. In that case, the tech guide is not that good. It is mostly current and future tech - from nutritional paste and key-cards to cybernetics to ray guns. Basically the sort of stuff you get in Numeria & the Iron Gods AP.

For your sort of stuff, I would check the Zeitgeist campaign and its resources. It was set in a fantasy world undergoing an industrial revolution.I don't remember how much of the stuff they had statted, though.

I think a bad mom could get like 1000+gp a night out of child abuse. That's enough for wands and shit every single day and could build up a lot. You just have to work to find the opportunities in tricky places if you're carrying them in a bag of holding while you adventure by day or whatever.

not that guy
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/basics-ability-scores/glossary#TOC-Bonus
>Bonuses are numerical values that are added to checks and statistical scores. Most bonuses have a type, and as a general rule, bonuses of the same type are not cumulative (do not “stack”)—only the greater bonus granted applies.

>The important aspect of bonus types is that two bonuses of the same type don't generally stack. With the exception of dodge bonuses, most circumstance bonuses, and racial bonuses, only the better bonus of a given type works. Bonuses without a type always stack, unless they are from the same source.

Bonuses do NOT stack if TYPED THE SAME.
Therefore, bonuses DO stack if TYPED DIFFERENTLY.

General case rules.

HOWEVER Paizo have stated (in FAQs but not official erratas) that ability score bonuses, if they are not mentioned as a specific type of bonus, are untyped bonus and therefore do not stack.
http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2l7ns&page=385?Ask-James-Jacobs-ALL-your-Questions-Here#19247
>Modifiers from ability scores aren't actually bonuses, strictly speaking. If they are, they're untyped bonuses—which means they stack with all other bonuses except themselves. Thus, if you have multiple things that say "Add your Dex modifier to this roll," you only get to add your Dex modifier once. Nope; it's not a typed bonus. It stacks with all other modifiers, but can't stack with itself.

Does this actually legitimetely say "If you have one thing that gives Cha as a dodge bonus, it can't stack with an untyped Cha-to-AC feature", because that does not actually look like what it's saying. That is also an Ask-JJ thread, which is NOT an "official" anything, and JJ himself has said he is not an official source on jack shit.

Because it doesn't seem to be saying that "Untyped Cha to x and Typed Cha to x don't stack", ergo what the fuck are you on about?
>>
>>51479351
>Does this actually legitimetely say "If you have one thing that gives Cha as a dodge bonus, it can't stack with an untyped Cha-to-AC feature",
It doesn't even say that. It says "if you have two two untyped cha-to-AC features they don't stack" and that's it. It explicitly DOES stack if one's from a dodge bonus and one's untyped.

Again, not that guy. You're right, other guy is an idiot and a fool

> Rubio would probably rub Corwin the wrong way

Nah, Corwin's seen some shit, but he still loves tales of adventure and heroism as much as anyone; because that's what war is truly like.

His experience must have been abnormal; they wouldn't make war sound cool and shit if it really sucked? Would they?

Possibly because there's no point in meme-ing a meme.

For all the jabs at the Meme Team, the reason they're getting the most attention, is because they have the most fleshed out characters; and bring something to the table other than lewds, memes, and animu tropes.
>>
>>51479567
>fleshed out characters...
>something other than lewds, memes, and animu tropes
>"fleshed out characters"
>in a game that hasn't started yet

Onryou is the main reason people shitpost about meme team. Everyone else is incidental.

>fleshed out characters

"what is backstory"

Having 8 paragraphs of backstory does not automatically make a character fleshed out, nor does it stop them from being a pile of "lewds, memes, and animu tropes". /pfg/ grabbing onto most of Meme Team doesn't automatically make them a better batch of characters, it just means the people posting like those characters more.
>>
>>51479748
I wonder if anybody actually thought Onryou was not a 100% sure thing to get in.
>>
>>51479848
Except if you read the backstories for all of the meme team characters you'll see they're not just piles of lewds memes and animu tropes.
>>
>>51475336
There's like... 3 or 4 female humans

I don't know what a Hourai is
>>
>>51479871
The thing that gets me is that both teams are barely different in terms of shitty memes/lewd/animu/whatever, /pfg/ just talked about meme team more and gave them more feedback to add more. Disparaging one because /pfg/ talked them up more just feels moronic.
