"Anime RPGs."
BESM.
OVA.
Some other obscure, indie games you can buy off DriveThruRPG or RPGNow.
Why do these exist? What could possibly drive someone to think, "Hmmm, yes, this system can emulate high school slice of life, super robot mecha, fighty magical girls, shonen fighters, gritty seinen, and sports anime equally well!"?
How are these any different from bland, lifeless, generic RPGs?
At least "superhero RPGs" have a vague point, namely in that "superhero" is a rough genre and not an entire medium.

>Why do these exist?
Because someone will buy it. Because there is a market.

Because lets be honest, D20 is getting a little fucking stale nowadays and if people think they have ideas on how to do things better, they're welcome to put their idea out there and see what people think.
I mean, otherwise, it's just like the games industry. Why have an indie game market when we can just play a new Call of Duty every year. Do people actually other bland lifeless generic games any fun?
>TL;DR, OP is retarded.

Very poor analytical and critical thinking skills. Since most western anime fans just tend to like it because it looks "exotic" compared to their own domestic cartoons, they don't put any thought into how anime tells stories differently than what they're used to and attempt to incorporate that into their games. Big Eyes Small Mouth even lampshades this in its name; "anime" roleplaying is all about superficial differences. It's GURPS or D&D but your characters have big eyes. That's the only difference they think matters.
>How are these any different from bland, lifeless, generic RPGs?
Desperate (and sadly, usually successful) attempts at delusional branding and identitarian marketing.

Because people like things you don't.
>>51456522
>Why do these exist?
Because the manchildren market is very lucrative.

But is OVA any good?
>>51456522
Hot fox girl tho.
>>51456522
You somehow forgot MAID,which is actually better "generic system" than GURPS.
>>51465917
It's surprising how MAID can be adapted into alot of settings.

That's no fox.

What is she supposed to be ? a wolf like in Okami ?

They exist BECAUSE some people don't get that anime is a medium and not a genre.
>How are these any different from bland, lifeless, generic RPGs?
By the inclusion of supposedly "anime"_style art of varying degrees of quality from great to downright horrible. As well as the inclusion of anime cliches/tropes.
