Personally i have played with KGS but it's been a long time. Maybe there are better services now.

If white plays 1-2, the white group lives. The most black can do after that is 2-1, but white just plays 5-2 and the black stones die. Also, the other black group in the picture will also die, since that group needs to play both 1-5 and 5-6 to live.

If black plays 1-2 first, and white connects at 1-3, black plays 1-5, making one eye and threatening to capture the white stones with 3-1 next. So white plays 5-2 or 4-1 to save them, and black plays 5-6 to get the second eye.

If, after black plays 1-2, white doesn't connect, black can play 5-6 (if white doesn't play there) and black can get a second eye around 1-5 no matter what. I can't quite see what happens if white plays 5-6 for the second move instead, but I assume black can make an eye in the corner
