/tg/, is there a good system for a XVII century extremely-low-fantasy-butt-still-not-completely-realistic pirate campaign?
I checked out 7th sea and I was strongly disappointed. I have the feeling my players wouldn't like it either.
No GURPS plox - I like GURPS, it's just that it's genuinely not ok for the kind of game I have in mind.

Perhaps 50 Fathoms? Haven't played it, but it seems you could remove the more high fantasy elements from it.

I run WFRP with more common firearms for 17th century inspired stuff, but that's because I'm a fucking sperg who does English Civil War reenactment with his gaming group sometimes. Notably our games don't involve many boats though.
