GW Specialist games

No support for them anymore. Despite the fact that it's still relatively easy to get models from resin guy or 3rd parties and rules from NetEpic, the lack of a company backing everything means there's no new releases to get excited about, no campaign books, and most importantly--nothing to back your investment.

Sure, GW could fail tomorrow, but as ultra-niche as non-historicals are, 40k is still THE top dog in terms of population (although I hear it is now being superseded by X-wing).

There'd still be tons of people to play with anyways. But Epic never got a huge community that survived into the age of the internet (though it might not have helped--see WHFB, though AoS also stole many of its last players).

Oh, forgot to add that FW actually IS bringing back Adeptus Titanicus in 8mm. Just Titans and knights for now, though they said tanks/infantry might show up eventually if things go well.

They're even doing a demo game at the weekender with full-size knights and titans.

I got a few Nercomunda gangas, Mordheim warbands, and a BFG fleet.

I don't have Epic because I'm not a can of that scale wargaming.
