Problems would arise if the Biologicus are dicking around with the geneseed. That tends to draw unfavourable attention from the Inquisition and any relevant First Founding Chapter, unless the Adeptus Biologicus had sanction from them in the first place.

Mechanical wings, call them Sons of Icarus or the Icarian Brotherhood or something along those lines.

The eugenics programs isnt heretical, the Crimson Fists tried one by using the offspring failed aspirants as recruitment pool, they stopped because it wasnt working and the mechanicum develop their babies on tubes rather than wombs. Krieg is seen as almost heresy for whatever technology they are using, probably some sort of speeding process so tube-babies are born faster like the DEldar use.

I think any colours will work. Just find a combination that looks good. You could go with Gunmetal or a galvanized black metal colour if you want to tie it in with the name.

Since they're called the Forge Born, then maybe an anvil or hammer paired with some other symbol(s) like a bolter, a sword, a lightning bolt, eagle wings, anything Imperialish that looks good.

It's not viewed as heresy, just as exceptionally brutal and inhuman to the point where it makes even Commissars uncomfortable to think about.

The two are very different things.
