It's less easy to casually break over your knee, the dice mechanic and how it relates to the character sheet is a lot more intuitive (start with 2d6, add or subtract dice based on your character's qualities, roll them and take the highest, but add any dice of the same number together).
Plus OVA is actually still supported by its creator while Guardians of Order are long gone now
