Nightmare: An Infested Memory

I'd be willing to put money on that this nightmare fits me more than anyone else who has done this CYOA before now because I've beat this shit IRL when I was a child. Crazy runs in my family in different ways one of amongst many is schizophrenia. Now I'm not necessarily schizophrenic but I am crazy enough to see and hear things. I see almost not at all anymore. Hearing things depending on too many things to list. They're still a problem.

When I was a child I would sometimes see bugs on everything. Literally everything. To make it worse I'd feel them too. Most of any of that on it's own would be somewhat fine except I was at the time mortified of bugs and a violent little shit. I would have sleep terrors and even when awake smack the shit out of things to try and get them off me. I'd be covered in bruises constantly.

The last time I can recall seeing bugs on things I had been having a rough night so I was sleeping in my mothers bed. At the bottom of the bed to the right was a half open door which suddenly burst opened and a Lost in Space (1998) style huge ass spider barreled in onto the bed. I vividly remember bugs starting to crawl out of the seams of the walls, floor, and every crease the spider made on the bed as it came at me. At this point I'm losing my shit kicking and screaming as I feel this thing brush up against my leg as it makes its way up to my face. I don't know what exactly happened next because everything went dark. Maybe I passed out because I was particularly losing it or maybe my mother knocked my shit in.

A bout of medication and growing up into a rather jaded objective person got rid of it for me. Not sure how to fix it here but at least I have experience with the bugs. The waifu is spectacular but in these pseudo real situations in which I have to use my real life as a base shit often falls apart really quickly. I'm fairly nomadic. I don't have a place to even put her. Could make something.

Plus however many children he can breed with Sabhya herself before she gets too old and he looks for anothermate. Which considering his strength and abilities I doubt will be much of a problem by the time Sabhya is old or gone long enough for him to seek out another mate.

This meanwhile is the 'twink' build, and the massive girth Sabhya grows will be amazing for his twinkdom. His endurance is so he can endure her longer sessions with his ass. Barbed is because I doubt he'll be asked often to please her and his submissiveness and weakness will encourage her hermphroditism to blossom quickly. Hopefully soon enough to allow her to please his huge prostate. (Virility comes with huge loads.) Lots of Pampers will be required however. . .

I'm not gonna tell you it's shit visually because that would be a lie, it's absolutely great from a visual point of view. If anything this is a matter of preference but I think the blocks are a bit far apart from each other. I prefer more closely packed CYOAs in general.

A lot of these are based off an ancient series of CYOAs affectionately titled HELL ISLAND CYOA since you were often only accompanied by a single artifact and a companion or a base in order to beat an enemy that was described as being vastly superior to you. The point of the ISLAND was that it was a magical otherworldly place filled with all manner of unlikely allies and weapons that you needed to imagine rather than have the CYOA give them to you.

Yeah, I agree. It's a holdover from when I was categorising them based on "Where" you got the skills from. Positive were "Worldly" skills, Neutral were "indifferent" and Negative were from "Beyond the world" granted from an outside source.

Before that, I think I fleshed out the school of Aquitas and hinted enough at the relative strictness of the character's childhood that kept them secluded from the rest of the outside world. Enslaving the girl on the other side of an online ERP was easy enough but I realised that I was onto something when a fellow dweller tried her moves on me. Ok I went back and read your question. To give you a short answer more clothes =/= bigger creatures.

The reason I want to do this is so you can still be big with just summer outfits. Essentially you just need to experiment with what combination of clothes works. I'll clarify that in another update.

I enjoyed going through it a lot, and I spent more time than I should making a build. But, fuck you for the "Finality of Fates". Every one of them has a slight shade of nice, except the single one I found interesting for a build (Conqueror of Self), which has "BAD END" written all over it.
World Ender is about reconstructing with everyone you gained.
Wandering Vagabond is about protecting everything with your friends.
Silencer of Fates is literally about yourself conquering fate itself.
And Unsung Champion, you can regain everything if you can prove yourself worthy.
The two good ones is about being a goodie and saving everyone.
But, Conqueror of Self, is about "fuck you". Lose everything you have, in a way that destroys your reputation and any hopes of recovering them, and since you are exactly the same as your doppleganger (except on the little detail that his reputation has not been stained) you can only rely on your allie- OH WAIT. I get the idea of stopping someone like you, like a reflection. But making him exactly as strong as the character, and THEN ruining the characters reputation, and then making it show up like a hero claiming you were a fake, it's impossible to fix.
It gets worse if you have Mental Manipulator, since he can just mindrape everyone into full servitude to him, while you have your thumb up your ass every two months.

Outside of my salt, I liked it, and it was fun.

Those denote skills that have no "Parent" skill to modify the cost of. That just means you can choose any of the +Fate Options within that skill without having their parent skill. I mostly did that so I can keep the same size across all skill options and still able to provide modifications to the magical stuff. I should definitely reword the skill pages to be clearer on that.

Had a hard-drive wiped of a lot of content recently so I had to use the few things I have physical copies of for the points 2 and 3.

One of the very few comics I have at the minute is Watchmen so Manhattan seemed obvious. As a costume I've got a thong presumably. Not sure if having the power means I have to be blue as well.

ASoIaF was again because I don't own that many physical fiction books. Still, it's a decent sandbox to screw around in and it's relatively low power so I can run around as a mysterious blue knight.

It's not the best I've seem but you don't need to be ashamed of it. Flipping back and forth between the CYOA and companions was indeed a little tiring but I liked it, it makes your cyoa more unique.

The only thing I would fix is the training section. Remove the little bar containing the name of the training, put it where the fate cost is currently located and put a small circle with a number inside representing the cost. For optionals like Defensive Focus, just write it like "Defensive Focus (2): somethingsomething" after a line break, maybe bolded.

For the first: a) Positive Fate != Neutral Fate, some builds have more positive points than neutral and might and b) it also gives discount to magical training (total -3 if you take at all ages).

If I could make a slight nitpick. Your companion images are a bit lacking. The childhood, teenage, and adult Stefan look like completely different people and for some of them the teenage version looks older than the adult version.

The CYOA is fun so far, but if you ever update it you should maybe think about finding new images that are more fitting. And if you need help, the thread will always have a few people with pictures of husbandos/waifus to share and help you out

Admittedly, yes I did get rather frustrated trying to find fitting images with such "strict" filters on and ended up settling with lacking images. It isn't the highest on the list to fix but it is there.

I have mixed views about this one. On one hand, it's got a lot of heft to it--and that's a good thing. I really like the chronological progression, as it's pretty easy to get a narrative going about your character as they grow up.

The issue is that there's absolutely no point in any of that since nothing we pick actually identifies our character. We have no starting ground, no base to build off of. We're basically newborns in this new world, but have no idea what we can pick. Are we ourselves, de-aged? Are we human? Is our personality roughly the same--or does it have to be the same? Information like that is, imo, required before you can even start digging into something like this.

Also, most other CYOAs I've seen following this broad mold use flaws/drawbacks as a way to...add spice to our adventure and personality to our character. This CYOA feels like it's just missing the core starting piece and a lot of flavor that lore and drawbacks provide, though the rest of the infrastructure is really impressive.

Yes and no. Obviously you can have the silly flaws, the ones that any powergamer is going to jump on. And then you have the narrative ones, which are much more interesting.

This CYOA reminds me of that one where you're the new right hand of a ruler and have uhhh...Personal, Intrigue, and something else points; that one had rather interesting drawbacks, some of which I avoided like the plague and some of which I just had to take because they were narratively fascinating.
