Woah, woah, easy tiger. I can see why he'd like his weeb version if he prefers that art style. Don't get me wrong, I love Wang Ling's artistic method, but if you look real close at any specific part of his paintings, they're very unfocused and almost sloppy seeming. I believe he's masterful at blending different sloppy elements to make an appealing image, but if you are used to the clean, homogeneous lines of an anime art style, it's not hard to see why it would seem raw and unfinished.

Okay, so let's be real. "Cute" is about the only one of these I /could/ draw on, and even that I'm not so good at. But I can try. If worst comes to worst, I can pretend. As for combat, I'm at my weakest in the middle of a long fight. At the beginning, I've got the Impactful boost, and if the opponent takes too long to finish me off Hex has already done a number on them.

Dwarf x2 is objectively the best choice. You get stacking discounts on damn near all the gear, which is pretty much the best possible thing for every build.

Exception being if you really need to max more than one magic lore tree that DOESN'T use earth, AND if you're mostly getting platinum tier gear so you don't get the discount for making it yourself.
That said, still right right choice for symbiote armor build, if you go get Arcane 3 as well and max the earth lore tree.

Then you've basically Saitama. You can one-punch a goddamn castle down and have god tier durability.

As for ambient mana I really did not think there could be any other explanation. If all magic is blood magic (it is after all) then all magical power is the result of suffering, pain, and souls. Ambient mana is like oil then IMO. It is a deposit of previous life built up over millions of years of earth's history. Of course in this sense oil is a renewable resource long term as well so the natural process may just be WAY too slow for the convention to consider. Still if I put a million bunny's in a blender I might expect a bit of mana to coalesce in that spot.

Technically, the Adversary (Eclipse) is the faction you're looking for, but they are outlawed and are outside the Convention. You could still go their route though.

Still, I wonder if the direct attempt to 'lose myself' in the 'idol persona' would strike any of my new comrades as going a bit too far. Only leaders know that conventional magic is a branch of blood magic which is not some kind of work of devil and source of everything wrong with this world, but the very source of their power, it's pretty much a thing upon which their civilisation is built upon.
