Mierce Darklands

Well, Mierce are ok-tier as far as 3rd party miniatures goes. They are not particularly famous but they are not infamous for bad quality either.

Their casts are generally very nice, I've got a fair number of their models (from 7 different KS of their, latest being Mighty Monsters).
Their big monsters are especially nice.
Their resin infantry use some clever tricks for sturdiness, such as brass rods inside the spears to help keep them stable.
The models are nicely detailed, though thin resin is fragile, so be careful with them.
Much of the basic infantry is available in metal now though, which should be better in that department.

Most of their other nations have somewhat more reasonable axes. The one in the op image belongs to a nation that is effectively a slaanesh cult, so the axe Mr. Steroids-for-blood has doesn't bug me as much as it would if it was considered normal in setting.

I always liked Mierce because they had large, impressive, and not busy alternatives to 40K models. For example, before the recent Lord of Change got previewed, Mierce's giant bird demon was AMAZING as a muscular LoC. But Mierce stuff is pretty pricey since they are a smaller third party company so I never bought their stuff. They have very good demon sculpts.

Price wise, they're not too far off from PP/GW. Especially with their weird kickstarter business model. Paid $90 for 5 better than gw quality minotaurs, a doombull equivalent and their !ghorgon

Honestly I have the rulebook for a while, didn't bother reading it though
