Is there a system that accurately represents 3-Dimensional movement?

Your hands.
GURPS Aeronautics

Video games
Yes. But it does require a graphing calculator or a specific mapping program.

You have no idea how badly I want a customizable, fully controllable space combat simulator that scales from fighters to capital ships and works in 3D.

If distance could be measured more rationally in 2D space, then maybe there'd be more in the vein of 3D distance measurement.
Systems aside, all I can see in my head is a gameboard with LEGO figures and a bunch of adjustable height stilts attached to them.

Battletech aero?

That's functional, but annoys a specific brand of autist. Also requires a specific brand of autist to use.
Basically, everything is on a hex grid and then there are other hex grids above and below, creating hex columns as high as you want (iirc, 1 is the ground and/or treetop, 10 is upper atmosphere, beyond that is different amounts of space above a planet)
But because aerospace units move so fast, one aerospace scale hex is an entire ground scale map (I forget the exact dimensions of a map, but it's an amount of hexes in a square or rectangle). Constant thrust has to be maintained or you stall.
And then actually going into space has its own set of rules.

>Sie sind das essen und wir sind die Jäger
When you actually understand German, it sounds kind of dorky.

Anon, stop, you're too cute to be a grammar nazi.

Even worse is that it could easily sound badass again/less ridiculous by simply changing "Essen" (food) to "Beute" (prey).
"They are the prey and we are the hunters"

A mapsheet is "17" hexes. In quotes because they're rectangular.

Which is basically what they're trying to get at in the first place.
But, I mean, since when has Japan ever been known for using other languages competently?
