What do you guys think of tabletop simulator?
I've been having some fun with it, playing deathwatch overkill and killteam with random strangers is cool.
Has anyone used it to get a campaign going yet?
Easily the best /tg/ related video game ever released.
Plus it hits that sweet spot where it's just clumsy enough that you still have incentive to buy a physical copy of whatever game you're copyright infringing.
I can't imagine playing a real PnP on it is any fun at all, though.
Clunky to use, it really wasn't ment for the use most people gives to it

I've been playing around with it a bit solo and it's fun enough. I haven't played a whole game of anything on it though- it's slow compared to a program designed to play specific games (or maybe it's just me). Still trying to find more games and stuff to play on it.

I prefer VASSAL, because hex and chit master race.

Can someone tell me how it's legal? I always see GW games on screenshots but how did they get away with that?

Nobody is selling the copyrighted material. It's kind of a grey area.

the armada mod is excellent. Haven't really tried much else.
Been cobbling together a working Bolt Action set up but it's taken a lot of work pouring through mods and some of the armies don't even have bases. I need to learn poor man computer stuff so I can stick bases on teams.

clunky as fuck and runs like complete garbage, I have no idea how the hell anyone can play it for more than 10 minutes at a time

Once you get used to the controls its easily the best way to play boardgames or tabletop wargames like warhammer
Perhaps for roleplaying roll20 is better, and I don't know about card games like netrunnerbut poker is fun

there aren't as many models as in vassal but playing it in proper 3D is far far better than 2D for the purposes of cover

and actually rolling dice rather than pushing a button is much more satisfying

I havn't tried it in VR but I've seen some VR people, it would be fun for warhammer for sure

I've never had an issue with it running badly (and I have a potato)
>>51319735
I don't play it, but of course there is basically every popular miniatures game in tabletop sim, like xwing

Makes me feel like an idiot as I struggle to do the most basic actions.

it becomes second nature very quickly - part of the issue I think is that some people leave the physics on full; which causes what you see in the OP gif
If you set it up correct then the pieces shouldn't bump and slide into each other constantly, and it makes it much more managable
