Not who you were talking to but more content generally adds more depth to the world. Optional objectives with awards let us know a little bit more about what is happening in the world while adding another set of choices to make.

I like the CYOA but as it stands there's really only two options that make much of a difference. Seasons change and your starting location has relatively little bearing on what you do/where you go from there. There's flame which lets you choose 1 of 5 big powers and Powers which lets you choose any 3 of 8 smaller ones.

It's polished but a little shallow.

She's been in my family for longer than I have. But now that I have inherited the estate and her along with it I'm sure there are some new things to look forward too. Some people say that my father died while in bed with her and that must be proof of her rebellious and evil tendencies. In that anime's universe, 80% of the population has superpowers (quirks). However, their use is strictly regulated and in order to become a "superhero" (who are essentially just really flashy cops with licenses to use their quirks in public) you need to graduate from a hero course and then get a job at a hero agency.

Most characters are either professional heroes or heroes-in-training. The main character (who was actually in the 20% born without powers but it's a long story) is at the top hero course in Japan. It holds an annual school festival like a lot of normal Japanese schools seemingly do, but the main event is a tournament where all the students are pitted against each other in fights so as to get them some exposure to hero agencies before graduating.

Now, with each new class come 3 students who don't need to pass the entrance exam and get in by recommendation. Todoroki is one of them because his dad is Endeavor, the second most successful hero in the world, just below All Might who is the guy in >>51311450. Endeavor decided it was not possible for him to surpass All Might with his fire powers, so he married a woman with ice powers and had kids with her until one was eventually born with a melded fire/ice quirk.

Todoroki was abused by his dad, his mom went insane and threw boiling water at him (which is where he got his scar) etc. Most the sports festival arc is about Todoroki angsting over his dad and how he doesn't want to use his fire powers, and he doesn't need them anyways because he is SOOOO powerful and perfect. That is, until his fight with the main character, who got All Might's quirk and essentially does a tearful speed-therapy fight where he beats himself within inches of death via constantly using his quirk (at that point, he could only use it at 100%, and broke his bones each time he did) so Todoroki can finally embrace his fire powers and become the god he always could have been. Thus, Midoriya stops being an actual character and more a plot device that fixes emotional issues by fighting people. And 2 of the other main characters become supporting cast for a few arcs to make way for Todoroki and the incredibly boring and repetitive rivalry between Midoriya and his childhood bully.

Story Time!

I served my time in the army as a dragoon, mostly patrolling and keeping elven rangers from slipping through the lines, and managed not to be killed by the stupidity of some of nobles who bought an officer's commission. Taking advantage of the land warrants for veterans I grabbed a 100-acre parcel in the new western territories and my cashed in my pay.

I found Onora when purchasing supplies and feeling a stab of pity (and knowing it was probably cheaper than buying from an auction) I brought back to health. She's a good farmhand and with her magic I've been able to harvest more crops than my parent's farm ever did. Things continue as they do and I might be able to bring on more hands next season.
