For the spells in the tome, I'll have them be blood C, hex C, and arma C. Arma because metal wires coming out of a book to capture someone is just a fun image. Overall I'm choosing the other two because they make a theme of magic that more delinquent girls might be inclined too. Sorta like a forbidden text kind of thing.

As a side note, I actually strongly considered having less reserves in favor of getting arma A for the additional utility. No particular reason why I didn't though.

I did something si ilar but made my build a genius with endless mana reserves instead of putting points in spell rites aside from arma. I also did the theme outfit and picked arma and also picked the slime to add to my already ludacris defense. I picked sword as a gauntlet type thing as well. With all the buffs to physical attributes and especially my weapon and strength in general my build is basically a saitama that can fly.

I'm wanting to make a lewd cyoa however I already ran into a roadblock when it comes to the mechanics, the "choosing part".
I don't want to redo the arcane and outplayed system of "here's some powers, you get points for taking your fetishes as a 'drawback'".
I was thinking of either a system of

Another idea was a tiered tree, where there are some low-leveled fetishes with small applications at the bottom, that lead to more powerful fetishes. There wouldn't be a limit to tier 1 powers, but there would be limits the further up you get.
But that also means the mechanics is another boring "here's some points, have fun".

It was the first example that came to mind that explained tasks. Submissive wouldn't work like that because the task was, now that i read it again, depicted as a drawback, not a task.
I'm not a fan of "you get cool stuff for no reason", the exact reason why I want a mechanic that isn't "you get points to buy cool stuff for no reason".
The idea is the higher tiers have bigger effects on your life - that's the point.

I work with official documentation all the time at work, staring at them for hours on end. I wish I could do inverse themes (which are essentially all of my CYOAs), but it's not that bad at a bright workplace. It's legible regardless.

For the Endless Space CYOA, what races/factions do you guys really want to get into it?
The guaranteed ones are the ones that made it from Endless Space 1 to Endless Space 2 as well as the Vodyani, Lumeris and Vaulters.
No matter what I'll have a "Minor Race" option that'll let you write in for any of the races that didn't make it in, BUT you'll be required to write a short story saying how your dude got on the galactic scene. Expect a lot of the races from Endless Legend to be a write-in, since the only canon one to get off of Auriga is the Vaulters and like one Broken Lord.

This is what I signed up for. The non-violent tasks are very important too but I think the magic-heavy girls are probably better at them. I don't know if you've noticed but my mana reserves are actually really low. I'm good for short bursts of activity or long-term investigation.

In general the two big issues with this build is that it has 1: no endurance and 2: a very small mana pool. It will have to take down whatever it is fighting very quickly or it'll just run out of steam. Can't go around fighting evil all day every day either. I'll have to hunt down targets one by one. My tasks don't really give me a lot of chances to get that Benevolence mana so I now have an extra reason to do nice things along the way.

I'm not sure I understand your build, all you can do is physical actions, with guns, and low stamina, so you will pretty much have to attack the enemy constantly, which means innocence won't even trigger. So why benevolence then, especially if you don't think you'll be able to recharge that in fight, and seem to dislike most of the free points you get from it?

And then you have no stamina on a physical build, but choose large tough opponents, while putting most of your points in defense rather than offense (all you do is shoot unmodified bullets). So you're not particularly bursty either to finish encounters quickly. And once you're out of breath, your untouchability is pretty much over.

If I was some big monster in a group encounter, I think I would just ignore you and eat your friends, wait for you to get tired, then eat you. What would your battle plan be?

They're mana charged, but they're still just the unmodified very basic attack function of your tool. I assume it's going to be strong against any normal foes, but big monsters and large world threatening events would probably be a lot tougher to take down.

Depends on the fight and on how much your character has to move. A magic focused build with high reserves, high powered magic attacks, and some movement spell like teleport or the water geyser, can probably easily do without stamina. Someone fighting a few petty criminals won't need it either. But with a physical fighter who specializes in many high mobility traits, and tries to take on giant monsters and world threatening encounters, it sounds like a good investment.

I mean, stamina is something where it's not just about whether you're completely out of stamina or not, but rather that your performance will quickly deteriorate without it, because you have to hold back. You're taking all those mobility traits, but you won't be able to use them to their full extent, I guess.

Especially if you consider that your build is actually brilliant for long drawn out encounters, if it weren't for the complete lack of stamina (very mana efficient, long range, high speed, almost undefeatable, can keep hitting the opponent as long as they have to until they go down). So it sounds a bit like an unneccessary handicap.

It's no less weird than there being a thematic outfit for every single rite.

Generally, though, outfits are made of parts. So worst case scenario, a completely contradictory outfit just comes in two mismatched pieces or has a mismatched accessory like a giant hat or something.

Like elegant+ poofy/frilly might give you practical pants but an elaborate top.

Actually Device affects the whole rite list and not just a single rite rank , while emblem gives you a single rite rank within the rite list.
