I also have Dragon tribal and zombies&wizards on the way. They're most common tribes though, with goblins.
I did hydra/hellion tribal at one point, it was bad.

I got a Karnwalker for my Hanna Superfriends and would much rather have Ugin.

If I reset the game with Karn ult people will just scoop, otherwise he is just a few exiles before dying.

Ugin may only have that 3 damage burn but he can wipe the board up pretty well for 6-7 CMC and his ultimate is straight up value that doesn't just autowin the game.

I tried this guy out with cephalid tribal.

Very fun, the commander himself isn't bad, In fact, he's awesome. The actual cephalids themselves leave alot to be desired. Lots of changelings and clones too.

Playing an infect creature, waiting a full turn, and pumping it twice(assuming you're using pump spells that grant +4/+4 or better) is way more than enough time for someone to kill your infect creature, wasting your pump spells and setting you back to square 1 with nothing. Infect is so easy to stop if you play any form of interaction.

What were you playing?
It's been a while since I got spectators, but I get comments in my second LGS like "I know your decks and what they can do" and groans whenever I play anything but Ghave, which is weird, since he's easily my most powerful one. It just flat out wins, but Memnarch, Hanna and Stoutarm seem to be in a bad light. Even Mogis has the same treatment and people are spooked, even though it's just stupid durdly hellbent thing, with main wincon to spam enchantments and then Obliterate or cast red Decree.

So I'm brewing up ideas for a Rakdos deck that's just supposed to be all about dealing damage to as many people as I can at once. Honestly, I'd be just as happy if the deck tied up games with everyone losing as I would be with the deck actually winning. But for right now I'm just looking at what to cut and how to narrow my focus, since the deck is all over the place with Pestilence effects, big beaters, X burn spells.

The ultimate idea is to have every action in the game, from drawing cards to playing and tapping lands to blocking or attacking deal some form of damage so that I can always have Rakdos ready to come out and play, or make my more expensive creatures cheaper.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I do the same thing. Honestly, it's what I do all the time and it works very well. The only thing you have to be wary of, is that once you remove a deck your cards will flop into the empty deck slot. To fix this, I just balance the box on one end until I fill it up with 3 decks.

if you do get an opportunity to do woodworking, my advice as a novice is to not get too fond of your work, just treat them as practice projects until you luck out and make something that you didn't fuck up

well to be fair, neither did i. one day i just decided "i think i want to build some deck boxes" and i just used the knowledge i had from like middle school and coupled it with the internet and the ability to ask "dad what the fuck is a stain". as a result, i can produce some decent quality work just with that.

are you sure you don't have anyone in your family that works with this stuff? there might also be woodworking clubs and courses around, maybe use one of those. hobbies like woodworking generally require commitment and work. but it's nice to have passion for something

I was just going to take 6 pieces of plywood and use some finishing nails to smash them together.Then, I was going to sand it down, gunpla style, and stain the whole thing, maybe with a light gloss. I bet it looks much worse than I think it does in my head.

you aren't really that far off, except you'd want to use wood glue instead of nails. nails are typically overkill for small woodworking projects like deck boxes. you'd have to basically throw a glued box into a wall to break it apart, and even then the wood might break before the glue does.

getting 6 pieces of wood that fit together would be the "gear check" when it comes to woodworking. you kinda have to have access to a table saw or something like that. also, you'd need to do a bit of sanding which would be a lot easier with a belt sander. just about everything else can be done in your garage/bathroom or backyard.

For steal commanders, Memnarch is probably better, due to combo potential.

However, Merieke and empress Galina are stronger than both in my opinion.
Empress galina hardly requires any support for cards, and destroys all commander-reliant strategies. Most often seen as blue goodstuff.dec plus a bunch of steal.

Merieke however is easily the strongest. Throw your deck full of untap shenanigans, blink and pillowfort and you're set. A well-tuned Merieke list will be able to steal or destroy every creature you want by turn 5 easily.
Not to mention that esper means prime pillowfort, removal and control.
Only downside of Merieke is her garbage stats though, but that's what equipments are for. She's a lot of fun if you've got an ertai the corrupted on the field as well.

The biggest downside of all these commanders is that you will get hated out of most games. People don't like it when you steal their stuff.
