I predict that by the Battle of Terra, 30k armies will look identical to 40k SM and CSM armies.
>>
>>51133698
No fucc, only hucc.
>>
>>51133799
Do you mean fluff-wise, or that there'll be enough plastic options that people are fielding armies entirely consisting of "40k" models?
>>
>>51133799
>loyalists get plethora of rules, units and nice models
>traitors get shitty generic models and terrible rules
>>
Are Thralls useful for Mechanicum? Going to make a DarkMech army, and I like the idea of a horde of lobotomised cultist-types charging the enemy with their bare hands.

I presume give them Fearless and Carapace and make 20 man tarpits?
>>
>>51133799
That book will be published by the actual siege of Terra in year 31000, so maybe you're onto something
>>51133807
No, fucc. It's space Romans we're taking about. Gaius X Aulus forever ;^)
>>
>>51133841
Yes, your enemy would need to spend more than theyre worth to remove them.
>>
Are there any good Luna Wolf shoulder pads available? I know there's some 3D print site that has a bunch of alternative legion bits, but I'm wondering if there's some good legit pieces?

Or would I just have to try to find appropriate SW bits?
>>
>>51133900
fw makes a transfer sheet
that's the only official thing you'll find most likely
>>
>>51133900
So you decided for the Luna Awoos as your new legion, then?
>>
>>51133900
Space wolves shoulder pads, with a painted on white moon behind it?
>>
>>51133926
I like the legion rules and RoW, I like the legion specific units, but I don't want to paint another green tone army so logically they make sense.

Plus I can make a nice Mk III army to contrast my Mk IV equipped Alphas
>>
>>51133827
Modelwise. I started thinking it when the new 40k Thousand Sons came out. It was arguably the first time GW looked at the HH range for ideas (Heresy-era armor marks and rotor cannons) to use in a 40k-exclusive set. We don't know for sure, but it seems reasonable to assume that the World Eaters will be fully red by then and the Emperor's Children pink. We know the Death Guard will have been corrupted. Only the Sons of Horus will look 30k-specific (the other traitors never changed much).

Meanwhile the loyalists will be able to use Mk VII and Indomitus armor.

The lines will definitely be blurred even more than they already are.

What's everyone's experience with Despoiler Squads? I'm thinking of picking up BoP for the Tartaros Termies, bits off the Custodes+Sisters, and to use 10 of the marines for a Support Squad. But I think I have enough Tacticals already, and I'd like to do something with the remaining 20.

>>51134237
Well, we know that the 1kSons changed to blue after the Rubric-ing. Death Guard were fucked just before the Siege, so that's their excuse. World Eaters changed to red at an indeterminate point of time, but it was probably after Angron went Daemon Prince. EC were already fairly brightly colored, but after Fulgrim also went DP I imagine that the remaining EC started rocking hot pink, black, and yellow.

But it is true that the Siege of Terra was about when all of the 'modern' designs started to take shape. After that, very little has changed with any of the former Legions, except perhaps the UM toning down their Roman-ness a few degrees.
>>
>>51134254
Shit, give them heavy or special weapons instead.
>>
>>51133926
Only read the first 2 HH books, started the 3rd one and I have a question about Loken.
His rules give him a Paragon blade but his model and story character wields a Chainsword.
Is it just a really, really sharp Sword like Kharns Gorechild in 40k or what's the deal here?

Also why is Abbadon such a huge, murderhappy dick and a calm, seasoned wise man in Talon of Horus? Did he change that much?
>>
>>51134409
"Paragon Blade" is a broad definition for a variety of weapons that cut things. They can be chainswords, axes, polearms, etc...

The red EC always bothers me in this pic.
Also Sons of Horus really do have the best scheme.
>>
>>51134409
Because ADB likes special snowflakes and made Kharn a calm dude.

Although, let's be fair, Kharn had already been depicted as a calm, calculating dude before, he was only the angriest of them all all the time at the very start, when he was created.

ADB just turned it up to 11 and has the novels that sold the most, hence the feeling he did it.

I bought some BoP Tartaros on eBay and they don't come with instructions. Since they aren't the same in construction as the FW ones, do I need to watch out for matching any pieces other than the right legs to each other? Do the torso halves/hood require matching the other parts too?

>"Burgundy is a shade of reddish brown associated with the Burgundy wine of the same name, which in turn is named after the Burgundy region of France which in turn is named after the ancient Burgundians, a Germanic tribe. The color burgundy is similar to other shades of dark red such as maroon, cordovan, and oxblood, but differs from each of these in subtle ways."
>>
>>51134457

Its not Red, its imperial or Tyrian purple. Its the shade worn by the Roman emperors.
>>
>>51134508
The legs match by numeric sequence - leg bit 18 goes with leg 19, leg bit 22 goes with 23 etc

The front and back halves of the torso just fit together, they're not paired. So they're like regular power armor torsos where a back will fit a front, no particular preference

Is it for reasons similar to why Assault Marines under perform? If it means any difference, I'd likely be playing on boards that are ZM or similarly dense.
>>
>>51134492
I'm planning to only pick a single armour plate on every Marine to paint the hazard Stripes on so it looks a little as those plastic dudes modified their armour themself partwise, so this should not be a big problem.

I used a Harder&Steenback Evolution Silverline Two in One a friend of mine lent me for this project.
Actually my first time working with an airbrush, but I'm very pleased with the smoothness of the basecoats. There is not much to it to get an even coat with a high quality airbrush as it seems to me.

>>51134654
Fury of the Legion is a good rule that you're likely to use before your squad gets whittled down by trying to get too close to the enemy.
>>
>>51134508
If they're anything like the Betrayal at Calth set, you should be able to just dry fit the legs to see which stand flat on a base and go from there. Everything else is interchangable, so you should be fine.
>>
>>51134665
Fuck these names.

I can't see them ever giving Indomitus any variation rules, since it should have rules equal to 40k terminators. Giving terminators different rules was a mistake. Should have just kept it universal across the board like with PA.

Eh, it depends. They're godamn hilarious to tie up a Primarch or Praetor and his retinue for a couple
turns, but if your enemy has even one Vindicator, Paladin, or anything similar, it's gonna be a sad day.

Thanks battle-senpai.

>Can't people dry fit pieces before assembly?

If there is a specific number combo I'd rather just leave them on the sprue so I see the numbers than snip everything off and attempt ot dry fit my way to the right combination.
>>
>>51134946
Vindicator still costs more than 20 Fearless Carapace Thralls. And it wont kill all 20 in one shot. If its a squadron then its 4x as much as that one blob and not shooting your important units. But if they make it across the board they have to sink points into killing them.

Thralls are pure platinum. They earn back their points by dying. What other unit can claim that?

Thats my point.
>>
>>51134934
Nah, I bet on something more modern like Christian oder Alex.

>>
>>51135103

>>
>>51135144
Ah, so Caspar.
>>
>>51135088
Too late to radically change it, people have already equipped Tartaros with combi plasma and the like. The most logical next step would be to give Indomidus rules. Like the old targeter rule. Simple, effective.

>>51135150
Ninja'd as I typed
>>
>>51135160
To be honest, there are much bigger differences between those three than the shade of red on their armour. Do you really not have a preference based on what you know of those legions?
>>
>>51135218
I'd prefer TS but I'm worried with how long the book is taking to come out that they are going to suck. BA are a close second because they were the first faction I played in 40k.
>>
>>51134985
True, but my point is more that it's dicey. The benefit comes in the overwhelming number of bodies, and losing 10 or more of those to shooting can be crippling. But that's why you take a metric fuckload, cause at 80 points for 20 fearless bodies you can spam better than pretty much anything out there

The best is against gun platforms and the like, tying up deredeos, Devs, and other heavy weapons squads is hilarious. They either dedicate 2-3 turns of an assault unit coming in to free them, or give up and leave it in the tarpit.
>>
>>51135150
>tfw I cut all the targeters off my Indomitus
>>
>>51135316
>and losing 10 or more of those to shooting can be crippling
Shooting that didnt target your krios, thanatar, castellax, or the like. They shoot your thralls youre winning. Every shot wasted on expendable fearless thralls isnt hittign whats actually important. And then they cant just ignore them either.

By taking fearless thralls your already stacking points trades in your favor. They get shot your oppoenent is trading down. The tarpit, score, or deny, then whooboy are you way ahead.
>>
>>51135082
FW books never tell you how they do it, but they do share their recipe if you email them. They've already painted the guys they photographed for the book, so go ahead. It appears to be Tamiya Clear Red over a gold base.

>>51135283
They've been late before - it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with the rules. But it's reasonable to be worried. It's very hard to balance psychic powers, especially under the current 40k rules. And what happens when 8th edition arrives? If HH adopts 8th, it could affect TS more than any other legion.

But probably not for long. And at worst, you just end up a tiny bit weaker, like EC. It's not THAT big a difference.

I'd be more worried about TS not being red for many battles. Did they all turn blue, or just Arhiman's?
>>
Maybe Indomitus could get more options?

Tartaros gets no heavy weapons, Cataphractii gets one, Indomitus gets two (per five) and/or a targeter (+1 BS).
>>
>>51134397
Anon, don't you know that the EC went pink because
>Eidolon got in a cockfight with some rando Lord Commander never heard of before but we're supposed to be impressed by,
>the rando tried to kill Eidolon by dumping acid on him and all his doodz, but
>Eidolon and his absolute madmen just got off on being given full body acid burns and started mainlining the stuff after killing the LC and his men
>BTW the acid turned their armour pink
>Eidolon loved the look so much he ordered all the acid bottled up to be taken back to Fulgrim's main EC fleet element so he could spread the joy of bathing in acid

Truly epic poetry huh?
>>
>>51135603

>inb4 but

>>
>>51135698
>Tartaros gets no heavy weapons
Too late on that too, the kits comes with heavy weapons with tartaros arms. We can subtract anything for existing kit.

The Indomidus getting +1BS and maybe an additional heavy weapon would be perfect

>>
Why not just add points costs to the termi sets instead, with Indomitus being standard, and mebbe +15/20/25? to upgrade the unit to a different set? I dunno.
>>
>>51136117
Well then it's like Armored Ceramite. You only DON'T take it if you really do not have the points, since if you're investing in a unit like that it won't work well if you half-ass it.
>>
>>51136117
Because they're supposed to be variations of the same unit not different units.

>>51135698

>>
I'm tellin' ya guys, it's a lot easier to just add a simple rule like the Targeter than gutting, redoing, changing costs, etc, etc. It doesn't have to be grounf breaking, there should just not be a strictly worse option.

>>51136523
Considerin termis are going to be charging out of something it's not really that big of a difference.

I still motion Targeter is the simplest, easiest, most effective way.

Cataphractii is defense.

Tartaros is mobility.

Indomidus is suppport.
>>
>>51136463
Go back to giving tartaros a 6++ instead of a 5++ or a 6++ at range and 5++ up close like a combat shield. Then you have.
>6++ can sweep
>5++ can't sweep
>4++ can't sweep or run

If you want versatility Indomitus, if you want a dedicated assault unit that can sweep choose tartaros, if you want a hard to kill but slow unit ideally for shooting get cataphractii.

Are they planning on releasing more Primarch models?

I'm wanting to start a 30k legion since they look better than 40k but using 40k just now to learn how to paint and then maybe play. Still stuck on what Legion to pick but I'd like one that has a Primarch model so that I have a nice centrepiece for it.

I'm leaning towards Emps Children since I like the purple and their story seems interesting. Only problem is there isnt any books in the mega links that are about them so its harder to get a good full lore unless there's a good wiki out there.
>>
>>51140129

No they're done releasing Primarchs. They said they decided to randomly stop in the middle because the studio had to focus on making more plastic boxed sets. The other legions are just going to have to convert one.
>>
>>51140129
That is a dumb question, but yes. There will be a primarch for every playable legion.
>>
>>51140048
The backpack is from the betrayal at calth chaplain lookalike mini. And the armour is just 1 steel, 2 then light dry brushing of silver. 3 washed with 50/50 black and brown wash ( whether it's nuln/agrax, or APs dark/strong tones, it doesn't matter). 4 Then I finally added silver paint and gloss medium for the chrome bits on the most exposed areas. If you don't have gloss medium ,just gloss varnish it after Painting. Same effect.

It's really important to drybrush the silver before the wash so the metal tones are highlighted, but still dirty.

I don't think it's technically cancer that you have to worry about. It's your lungs getting scratched up by microparticles. It's cumulative, so one time isn't going to do much harm. But stop it. Wear a mask and/or do all your sanding and filing under running water.

>>51140129
Start with FW's first HH book, Betrayal. Then read the novel Fulgrim. No, not everyone likes it. I thought it captured the legion pretty well though. The Path of Heaven is mostly about White Scars but it has some great Emperor's Children in it as the antagonists.

They're not the easiest legion to play because they're pretty dependent on getting the charge, but they're one of the best looking. Read up online for great ideas for the Maru Skara rite of war.

1. For Blood Angels legion iconography how different are their designation colours from their 41st millennium brothers? I'm doing a Pride of the legion list to get started and I was wondering if my veterans should have golden helmets or not.

2. Do the MK IV Despoiler marines suffer from the weird thinness that a lot of the other Forge World MK IV kits suffer from? I'd like to use those as a base for my guys, but if so I guess I'll figure out something else.

Are seekers fluffy for IF? After seeing them in action I took a real liking to me and have a niche in my army they could fit in. Does the +1 BS work with their BS 5 when it comes to the bolter on their combi weapon? I was picturing combined plasma because I normally play against death star intensive armies and the reroll to 1s on both shooting and wounding looks great.

But then I don't want to add them if Imperial Fist looked down on them.

I assume they gain +1BS when using the bolter part, including specialist munitions.
As for fluffyness, come on. It's bolters. IFs love those things so much they autistically trained until they could shoot better than their fellow superhumans.

Innawalls, shooting your trusty bolter with crates of special ammo. Seldom do Imperial Fists get more comfy than that.

>>
>>51145414
Same thing BS 6 always hits on.
>>
>>51145420
>>51145414
Kek, you'd do wel in reading the main rulebook m8s.
BS greater than 5 starts rerolling ones, and the chances to hit the reroll start low but get higher the better the BS was.
Essentially BS6 is BS5 with a BS1 reroll.
Srsly checkh the rulebook.
Also, BS6 means your Tempest bolts will almost never truly worry about scatter .
>>
>>51145414
a natural 1 is always a miss, BS6 gives you a re-roll at a higher value if I remember it correctly.
check the BRB to be certain.
>>
>>51145334
I tend to run seekers in my fist's list when it pushes over 2k, that's when you see peoe start sinking a lot of points onto a single unit. The tempest bolts are hilariously good with the small scatter and plasma's melt termies, just got to worry about the vanilla defensive stat line.

A vox is good to deep strike something to obstruct units from getting into melee with them (I use sigil shield/thunder hammer termites) or some additional firepower when multiple units start closing the gap (assault cannon termites).

The way you use them is what makes them fluffy not the unit inherently.
>>
>>51145414
>>51145420

your to hit is a 7-BS
it can never go below 2 however
so you keep the spare amount and substract that from a 7 , this is what your reroll hits at
so for BS 6 that's
first shot to hit : 7-5 = 2 (keep 1 spare casue you can't go below 2)
rerolled second shot to hit: 7-1 = 6
>>
>>51145532
I need to add the best results I've had were with plasma. I tried meltas because after their targeted unit is gone plasma tends to overheat constantly with me but there are better units to go tank hunting.

With seekers I was able to fit a heavy support squad with lascannons, something of a big target. They tend to get overlooked when you're fielding seekers.
>>
>>51145449
Pretty sure anything higher than BS 5 is a reroll to hit, starting on 6's with BS 6, 5's and 6's with BS 7 and so on
>>
>>51145536
Or you could simply add any surplus to the reroll
BS5 = 2+
BS6 = BS5 + reroll @BS1
BS7 = BS5 + reroll @BS2
BS10 = BS5 + reroll @BS5
>>
>>51145586
yeah you're right that is a lot more clearer
>>
>>51145334

The IH oil color isn't in that one, since that guide uses extremely basic techniques for beginners. What you want is a lot of nuln oil and a couple other different colored washes over leadbelcher.

Yep, got that one too, although again it's not as interesting as FW's scheme. These are from the burning of prospero painting guide, a kind anon dumped them all in one of these generals, so I've got them all saved. I really should look up how to make an imgur album to dump them all in one of these days.

You can do a reasonable PotL list with BaC, but it'll be meh. You can add FW or GW tanks and make a fine list though.

No point getting infantry from FW in my opinion since the plastic is so cheap and gives options, though people have different views on it

Wash, clean and file it while you submerge it in water and give it a good coat of primer. Wear a respirator if you really have to.
>>
>>51147795
I think only resin bits I got are some 3rd party bits for decorative purposes. BaC and BoP gives you plenty of infantry and with some bits purchases you can turn them into various support squads. About all the GW plastic vehicles are kosher and you can make stuff like MkVI dudes from GW bits. I made a squad of MkVI seekers. Put scopes on their bolters and some sternguard ammo sets on their belts.

Armies without transports can work if you play a legion that gets Infiltrate and/or Outflank on a large number of units. Night Lords and Alpha Legion come to mind.

Drop pods (the plastic GW ones) are a good option too, though it usually requires taking a certain Rite of War. Plastic Rhinos and Land Raiders don't necessarily look the part, but they're fine. Same with Land Speeders, Dreadnoughts, Bikes, Attack Bikes, and plastic Predators (and Vindicators and Whirlwinds). They were around and work well, just aren't "iconic" for the Heresy compared to the more expensive FW versions. Actually, buying a Land Raider Mk IIb from FW (plastic Land Raider + a few old-timey resin parts) gives you better points/money value than any of those plastic kits.

Contemptors are great, but the plastic one isn't. If you have two, I'd do a weapons swap - one with double Kheres (Mortis), the other with double fists (run as a Cortus).

You'll probably want FW weapon upgrade kits to turn some of your marines into Support or Heavy Support dudes, and I'd also get some Apothecaries if you're footslogging.

I tried to achieve be both "fluffy siege theme" and "semi competetive". Im kinda new to HH games, but played regular 40k since end of 4th edition. For unit swaps I curentlly own Guilliman, Shitloads of magnetised normal Dreadnoughts, one another magnetized Contemptor, magnetized Predator, magnetized Cataphracts/Fulmentarius w/ Cyclones Terminators, CC Leviathan Dread, another 2 Quad Guns and some unassembled PA marines and 3 rhinos. And shitload of guardmens for possible AD of Imperial Army.

Its really hard for me to make HH lits. So many options and so few points and Elite slots :'(
>>
>>51150060
They basically took old 40k and Epic minis, modernized them, and said they were more common in M31. I love it.

Contemptors go back to 2nd edition Epic. The Rhinos, Predators, and Land Raiders are from the Rogue Trader era. The old style 40k Rhinos lasted until the middle of 3rd edition, but in 2nd ed. Predators were already getting boxy turrets and sponsons and the domes and protruding side weapons were on the way out. The Javelin looks more like the White Dwarf DIY deoderant stick Land Speeder than the 2nd ed. boxy metal one or the original that didn't have any piece of hull in front of the driver and gunner. The Spartan was also a DIY model in a White Dwarf article.

Even the lack of heavy weapons in tactical squads looks like old Epic. And the existence of Gorgons but not Chimeras.
>>
>>51150634
> always run phosphex
would be interesting to see a mastadon, spartans are more viable though
I'd add a 3rd tactical blob and move the third apothecary to it, suezarians are tough enough as it is
you have 4 elite slots, correct me if im wrong but I dont think theres an CAD in 30k that lets you do that, so i'd ditch the cortus dreads
>>
>>51150600
How so ?
>>
>>51144956
I played 2 practice games awhile back, both against 40k armies. The first was Death Guard vs Cult Mechanicus, second was Imperial Fists vs Khorne Daemonkin. 2000pt games.
I can't remember the exact lists, though.

DG: played the Reaping w/ a mostly infantry list. I think I had 2 base tac-squads, a veteran squad, and 3 6-man missile launcher squads. Then there was a terminator praetor, some deathshroud, and a scorpius whirlwind.
CM: 1 formation w/ half a dozen robots and several techpriests (which somehow gives them split fire, and saved shots w/ invulnerable save get directed back at shooter) and 1 FW knight.

We called it turn 3. I only had a few models left and had only inflicted 2 wounds and 1 hull point. One of the wounds came back via IWND.
Then I was informed my 2000pts had been playing against a 1500pt list my opponent didn't feel like changing to up the points.

Game 2
IF: Dorn, Sigismund, and a lot of tactical marines.
KDk: diverse list w/ daemon prince, bloodthirster, and other stuff.

Dorn killed the daemon prince, but got taken apart by a soul grinder over the next three turns or so. Siggy killed a bloodthirster and chased around some dog-things the rest of the game.
I can't remember who won.
Pretty sure I lost.
>>
>>51150656
Deimos rhino is a 3rd party conversion kit to make a MkI lookalike. They should have just made a proper MkI rhino. Contemptor got an egg shaped torso with boxnought claws instead of proper hands, and they pulled the kheres from their asses. Spartan should have been a proteus with a ramp, not a whole new tank with quad lascannons, because of reasons. Fellblade and falchion were just Marine baneblade and shadowsword, but then why would people buy the expensive new minies? I know, lets change their weapons so that people will have to buy our models.

MkII and III power armour got a stupid rim around their heads and the armour was made interlocking instead of abutted, resulting in stupid flared legs. Both have the backpack riding way too high compared to the art. Tartaros forced into it for lulz.

>The Javelin looks more like the White Dwarf DIY deoderant stick Land Speeder

Only in that they're both long round shapes. The deodorant conversion was a tank, not a land speeder. The Custodes also get long rounded deodorant tanks, instead of hover rhinos as they should.

>the existence of Gorgons but not Chimeras.

Epic gorgon used the baneblade hull and Chimera hulls are all over old HH art.

I know FW took a lot of old designs, enough to get all the grognards on board, but they've also changed plenty of designs, left designs out and introduced whole new things that never existed before. When it comes to iconic HH, old art always trumps the current year. Hell, if you look at all the old art, you'll see plenty of SM and CSM bikes in it with nothing that looks like the FW Outrider bikes. And plenty of bullock and whatever the other pattern jetbike was, instead of Your Mums Dildoe(tm) that FW came up with.

4 Elites is a 30k thing - the generic ("Crusade") force org chart has it. It's the reason we had that guy proposing an all-grunts alternative - too many elites for him. (Personally, I'd rather just see Rapiers moved to Heavy Support.)

>>51150634
Are you running the Logos Lectora rite of war? It's the only reason you'd need a Master of Signals in that list, but you need another compulsory troop choice to use it. Which is fine - UM's Legiones Astartes special rules encourage the use of multiple smaller squads so split at least one of the tactical blobs.

Comtemptor Cortus Dreads should be kitted out for close combat. I guess if you mean one Kheres and one CCW that's fine.

Flyers will hurt you.

I think the list is too unfocused - you've got artillery hanging back, one big transport going forward, guys on foot... you'll be spread too thin.

That is definitely not it, although thanks for the effort.

It seemed like a stand alone story, the kind you would find in a rulebook or a white dwarf, not a novel. It was literally just 1 random traitor dude standing around on a battlefield waiting for 1 loyalist marine to dig himself out of the ground.

The loyalist lifts his bolter but it doesnt fire, he pulls out his close combat weapon and growls something along the lines of "traitor!" The traitor then smiles, lifts his arms out to each side and says "brother" before the loyalist charges him. The traitor kills him and then reflects for a second before walking away.

Agreed on the Spartan. The old Epic Contemptors (not the very first SM dreadnoughts, which have some other name now) do have the same egg torso and assault cannon, though they did have a hand instead of a boxnought claw.

I'm still a bit sorry about that one, but the rulebook does combine Fearless with IWND as a trait, while EW and FnP also have appeared as traits.

Do you think the following toned down-ish traits make more sense?

>Unbroken blade: Fearless and FnP(5+), or +1 to existing FnP.

>Preternatural Resilience: Eternal Warrior with IWND(6+).
Alt. EW with reroll successful poison & fleshbane wounds.

>Dusk Raider: night fighting rules are used in turn two, your army has Night Vision
Alt. You can roll to use Night fighting beginning turn two, with greater chances for success each turn. All the army has Night Vision

Alt. Alt. Three infantry units gain Scout and Night Vision. Can roll for Night Vision (at the usual 4+ chance) beginning turn 4

>the same egg torso

It's not the same. The FW contemptor torso is very bulbous all around. The epic dread and art of similar dreads have the front more of an angular plate with the waist more rounded and the sarcophagus more prominent. Also the thighs were skinnier and more mechanical. Basically it was more of a humanoid boxnought.

>assault cannon

Pretty sure the 1e Epic just had one set of sprues so the devs had to come up with an explanation for SM vs. SM, so they used the HH. I mean, the marines are clearly in MkVII suits too, so I doubt the models were designed with HH in mind nor that everything about HH was 100% set in stone at that point.

>I'm fine with all the other changes they've made.

I don't fault people for it, I just get a bit annoyed when FW is held as some paragon of what HH is and even if your army is nothing but units of 1:1 recreation of old art, it's not "true 30k" because it's not FW.

the stormhammer isn't great but i personally still prefer it to that

any source for the shit sales other than common sense ?
i mean a 150£ superheavy that only fits in a niche army of what is already a niche setting is kind of a bad idea while a 85£ variant that fits into multiple armies, 40k and the same role is readily available

I wonder how much of an asshole one would be to take a MkI land raider, get a MkI rhino, make the old style spartan and field it as a modern spartan.

No, just haven't seen many in real life or in facebook photo albums of 30k events around the world. Which I spend too much time looking at.

Anecdotally, I'm seeing more Stormlords and Stormblades than ever.

>4++

>IWND
>Non special character (so you could give him a jump pack or jetbike)
Yeah have fucking fun trying to kill a jetbike praetor with a power fist, lightning claw, digital lasers, and Iron Halo. 7 str 8 AP 2 attacks on the charge, 3 T 5 2+/4++ wounds, eternal warrior, and IWND. Same thing with FnP rolls. Have fun killing my death star now that everyone has a 4++ feel no pain save.

Over half your warlord traits incentive making death stars and nothing else, which not only isn't particularly fluffy for Salamanders (I could see SoH since they liked decapitation strikes) but heavily disincentives other lists as the warlord traits are practically worthless without a death star.
>Preferred enemy traitor
If your warlord isn't a melee beatstick this is worthless. If your enemy aren't traitors this is worthless.
>IWND
Stubborn is nice but the trait is only really good when your warlord is a melee beatstick
>Into the fire
Honestly not even a good trait at all, but literally worthless unless your warlord is a CC beatstick
>FnP
I guess its nice if you want to camp on an objective and dare the opponent to drive you off. Pretty worthless if your warlord isn't leading a death star though.

Pretty much less preferred enemy and fleet (why fleet for the least mobile legion?) and more stubborn, master crafted weapons, and fire.

Or not something that just copies the LA rule, like.
