Not enough time. I don't want to start something that can't be played weekly and let my players down. It's happened to many times before.

Most people in this hobby are university age.

Meaning that people are hesitant to make commitments until their educational schedules are set.

Also, pathfinder generals started recruiting for lewdgames and have tons of people applying, meaning they are keeping their schedules open in order to keep timeslots free.

Also, we have too much negativity and are being flooded by newbies recently.

Give it a week to a month to become more stable, or run a game and contribute to solving the problem.

Mutants and Masterminds 3e

Superpowers came about ~20 years ago when an alien mothership came along and awoke latent alien genes in people. They also shared their technology, but were soon destroyed by the Vatican's secret nuclear arsenal. Humanity's been kicking along with these cool powers and cool technology since then with no sign of any aliens on the way.

Metahuman crime is handled by licensed+bonded teams of metahumans so the regular cops don't have to worry about dealing with it. The party is one of these teams.

Aiming for a shorter-running campaign, about 5 sessions. Tone is lighter, but not farcical. PL8, some limits apply to character builds for the sake of my sanity and the smooth operation of the game. Medium will likely be Roll20 with voice chat.

Can you run a game of Pathfinder using Eberron conversion rules (as linked bellow) , and Kingdom Building. Focused around the themes of conquest, and courtly political intrigue. The setting having a Eberron-esque/ Warhammer Fantasy Battle tone of Europe circa the 1500s highlighting the brutal and inexorable march of technology. The first one arrived in 12000 BC and made a mess of things for everyone else. The second one came in 2010, a herculean impact that truly devastated the landscape. Of course, the battle was yet to start - projections showed the next one would show up by 2025. Thus an organization, ATLANTIS (Named after the mythical city of old) was founded to help develop countermeasures - and this is where the Talons, giant beings of might and metal, come in.

This starts in-media-res. You've already fought against numerous monsters, the planet's been severely messed up, and you're only up to the 31st Constellation. What will happen in the battle? What will become of you and your comrades? Can the day be saved? Or will it be the miserable end, the denouement to humanity's horrible fate?

Why not run a warhammer fantasy roleplay game instead? It has a whole book about building a kingdom in the boarder princes. Add Dwarf until you reach the desired level of technology.

Roll20 forums will have text threads of varying issues cropping up in a King of Dragon Pass-esque style but more open choices, and weekly voice live sessions will address crises and time-critical decisions or things involving harsh travel or combat.

Things are pretty low level and text discussion is not a PBP "I go off and do this for 5 days" type of thing but rather IC discussions between you, and NPCs if applicable.

Also there's a creepy guy who wants to watch the sessions but he seems okay.

I'm pretty liberal as long as it's not outside the setting. Mostly stick to Default/Generic/Greyhawk and you'll be good. No FR/Eberron mostly. Though the general feel of the campaign is pretty down-to-earth and "normal" so don't go crazy planar maybe.

It's supposed to be a fairly down-to-earth and low level campaign that won't see too much ability to abuse the system, given its localized area isn't exactly your sprawling metropolis equipped with fully stocked magical gear shops, nor do I want people to break out the Whispergnome Illusionist or Venerable Dragonforged Kobold. That said your skills (as in mechanically) will be tested and cared about in the live sessions and in general you should be competent and willing to engage with the mechanics enough that your turns go smoothly and you have some idea what you're doing without creating a hold-up. Some social or knowledge rolls might come up in the text threads, depending on what you guys do.
