I think the War in the Webway Emperor is a bit odd and contradictory to other fluff. Almost everything that describes Horus v Emps shows him being distraught at hawk boy dying.

Also the concept that Emps didn't want to attack Horus makes no sense anymore. The Horus Heresy is a decent book series but god damn them retconning the Emperor was awful, especially his backstory (assuming that what the chaos and the cabal claim of him is accurate)

Because whatever GW will come up with, no matter the quality (and lets be honest, probably low quality), will not satisfy a big part of community in any case.

40k works as a setting where you make stories of your own unique heroes, chapters, regiments, warbands, insquisitorial operatives, worlds, ork clanz and what else you got. When setting goes through changes it will inevitably fuck with fans of different factions. Most extreme case would be almost all 40k factions going through squat treatment.

I feel the rules are the only real limiter, which is why I was pretty happy when they made Chapter Masters have 4 wounds, just like all the named Chapter Masters.

As long as the rules give you a good reason not to choose what most people would choose, which is the real failure of 40K when it comes to making 'your guys'.

Based on the fact that there are possibly more Daemon Primarchs coming and character resculpts being done, I'm guessing they either going to focus on things happening at the same time as the Fall of Cadia or battles that take place after as Chaos tries to expand the Eye.

This is probably going to be part of the new status quo, part of the Imperium and possibly some other races in a tug of war with Chaos over the expansion of the Eye.
