Quick question for anyone in the know about these things--The Mage sleeves KS claims that the Undead pledge level is no longer sufficient to sleeve the full game after all the new reveals. I also saw somehwere that someone had done the math and that the Undead level would still sleeve them all regardless. Is this true? Mage says the Gamer pledge is the only one that will work right now but that's another 30 buckaroos on top of what I just paid for this game.

Also I know Mage sleeves are expensive but let's just assume I want this done easy and fast and in such a way where I wont have to worry about it after.

It only requires Flower Knight and Spidicules if you're doing the full on Abyssal Woods campaign. Fuck it, I found the answer. If anyone was curious, it's 101 sleeve packs required--Undead gives you 100. You'll need 1 settlement location, 2 settlement events, 37 square gear, 61 premium American.

It's Gorm painter-guy again. /tg/, can you guys help me out with something? I'm following this tutorial to paint my DBK in a sort of color-shifting scarab kinda way.

I'm not painting on glass, so I had to improvise a bit. Anyway, I used exile blue as the base color, then my second layer was a healthy helping of a blend of P3 green ink with some iridescent paint, and finally, a thin layer of exile blue with a powdering of white on top.

It feels not quite finished yet. What do you guys think I should add? Blue/green wash?

Look up interference color paints. I've been meaning to experiment with em, they add an iridescent clearish coat. There's greens, purple, orange, yellow, that will let the base coat show, and shift color when light hits it from different angles.

The Abyssal Woods *campaign* requires the Flower Knight and the Spidicules expansion, and has tie-ins with the Honeycomb Weaver and Dung Beetle Knight.

Including the Dragon Goblin as a quarry, either as node 3 or node 5, requires nothing. And at least the Spiral Knight can also be included separately, according to the graphic.

Even without the campaign, it's a pretty stupendous amount of value for $150. I pulled the info from the KS in the other thread but you're getting:

-2 Death Chicken fights, including one as a Satan-level final boss

-a new knight battle

-Witch battle

-Disciple battle

-Luna encounter battle

-Flower creature encounter battle

That's a lot of content all on its own and the death chicken is a pretty rad miniature on its own. It's up to you whether or not you want to add in FK/Spidey to your pledge to get the full campaign. I wanted FK anyways, and I'll just play TTS for the battle part of spidicules if I have to, as I'd rather spend that money elsewhere.

If you're interested Abyssal woods, Honeycomb weaver has (optional, it's not required) tie-ins with the campaign, and doubles as a node 1 and 3 monster so that might be a better choice.

See, the flower witch is in that expansion. The flower witches whole deal is that she and her disciples are managing a magic black hole that is kept dormant in the center of the woods, and sometimes it has periods of activity.

I bet the harnesses are to hook you to trees so you don't get sucked up/blown away by black hole events. The witch and her minions use magic and living cloaks to do this shit, but the survivors will need their own solutions.

Its a character that got a model with a small amount of game content during earlier sales. She is connected to the Black Knight back before we got the Black Knight expansion and everyone was in agreement that black knight was cool as shit and needed an expansion.

The lore snippet for Percival tells us that the Black Knights were a settlement that tried to fight back against the darkness and failed, and strongly implies that the Black Knight that exists today is Percival's dog that she left behind to go on crusade, who is still standing guard and waiting for her return. Her mini comes with a hunt event where you find her body, and her spirit will bestow upon you a secret fighting art. Because even in death, her will to fight against the darkness endures.

Her lore sort of rapidly made her the undisputed Best Girl. The fact that her mini is super practical armor instead of being a pinup helps too. Of course, then she got a pinup that revealed she has a banging body too, but this is Kingdom Death so I guess we should have seen that coming.

Ehh, I don't need to - the model doesn't look great at the moment; it's not finished, so the comments were entirely accurate.

Not only that but I am perfectly confident in my ability to paint a model up to an acceptable standard for myself and the people I play with. Job done, really.

Certainly the larger KD:M miniatures do (and will continue to as the new KS waves roll out) give me pause, as I don't have an airbrush, and I wouldn't dream of painting the Dragon King say without one.

I was in your boat when I first got the game. I didn't even own model paints yet!

I'm going to tell you a secret: its not as hard as it looks.

Yeah, you'll mess up the first time. You might even end up going back and repainting some minis later because you realized you can do better. But there is a solution called simple green you can soak minis in to remove the paint without hurting the plastic, so any paint job you don't like you can undo.

The model quality for KDM minis is actually good enough that, once you get the right sized brushes, its basically like coloring inside the lines. You might even find you enjoy it!

I'd say give it a try. It doesn't hurt to try new things, and if you really don't like it you can always stonepaint it later.

What size table do you guys recommend for a comfortable experience with 2 players?

I'd imagine that if saviors are getting nerfed they will also be tweaked so they can last longer.

As it stands, its a valid strategy to just spam intimacy after you get hovels so you can get more saviors, send them on one or two normal fights to level up and then save them for a rainy day.

I could also see nerfing saviors as being part of the balance tweak between the birth innovations. If saviors are still super fucking awesome, they inherently make nurture the young better because you are more likely to get saviors with it, possible better than any amount of Survival of the Fittest can reasonably compete with.

We got a hint on this that saviors will have their affinity and the ability to gain a unique SFA, but an example given was that for the red savior, they'd pay an age to get an autohit rather than just getting them. So saviors will be survivors with SFA potential and a special power that costs them age to use.

Nerf is probably the wrong term. It's a gameplay change, so you are encouraged to actively use them instead of just sitting on them to win major fights.

The major change is that their abilities are now active rather than passive, and cause them to age, instead of aging automatically. Like the red savior now can turn an attack into an auto hit, which gives them 1 exp. so you decide how fast they burn out.

They also all have a new secret fighting art that is basically a suicide button, making them extremely powerful, and then ceasing to exist at the end of the showdown. However you have to partially level them before they gain access to it.

>Right now their power scales too quickly, is too useful and they live for too long. They are going to be downgraded more to feel like a survivor +, each with an ability that on use, ages them. For example, a Red survivor can make a miss an automatic hit by at the cost of 1 age level. Because of how much this sucks, compared to their original incarnation. Each Savior can access a secret fighting art, its use using the remainder of their lifetime. But it will take a little bit of work to learn / gain each of those arts. This puts them more in line with the bonus they were meant to be, instead of a core game strategy as I have seen many people use. For example, Strategy vs the King's Man level = a green savior. You can win that fight with just normal survivors, I have many times. The answer myself and the playtest team found = dash, a single shield or ranged weapon and daggers. Controlling whom it attacks and dash canceling it as often as possible will very often lead to victory. I don't wanna spoil anything more, so I will leave it at that.
