So, which parts of the Expanded Universe are good enough that I can mine them for an upcoming campaign, and which parts should I avoid like the plague?

Looking for stories that focus on force-sensitives, smugglers, and bounty hunters rather than Jedi/Sith or the Empire/Rebels.

Preferably comics and novels, but I'm open to other mediums if they're worth looking into.
