Edmund Percival used to be such a nice boy. His parents assumed he'd grow up to be something wonderful, like a doctor or a lawyer or a banker, but Edmund never grew up. Ever.

Instead, he tripped into a devastating scene where a magical girl was destroyed by a vampire while trying to save him and his parents. In an attempt to salvage him from this event, the magical girl passed her own powers to him. Eventually, Edmund went down the path of revenge, and decided to pursue the Ebon Mint, who granted him the power (and the information) to destroy the vampire that had ruined his future.

Since then, he has dedicated himself to subjugating and controlling Monsters everywhere. After all, none can create more sad beasts like him if he rules them with an iron fist. And if those frilly magical girls get in his way, well, he'll just press them into his service, too.
