So I'm trying to sort out stuff to add to my Eldar army

I am aware. I mainly wanted to ask what people's thoughts were on War Walkers, as well as if I would be better served getting them, or some of the Corsair Jump versions from Forge World.

It's Eldar. Unless it's Shining Spears, it's a workable unit if not downright OP.

We finally know why Trazyn is going to Cadia. Tl;dr he was so bored that he decided to play galatic savior....for the time being.

Also sadly I have to report that one of Ward's creation Inquisitor Valeria was killed off screen. Probably as punishment by GW for him leaving them.

Anyways, the book will feature an Ork vs Admech battle on an unrelated planet. Also the battle for the Phalanx which has Be'lakor attempting to seize it from its outnumbered Imperial Fist defenders.
>>
Repostan because it took two brain cells to type this response out

>>51068952 #
AdMech as a faction may not be underdogs but the individual soldiers, the cogs in the machine, definitely are. You can't help but feel bad for them as they're killed by the millions, fighting fanatically against monsters and literal demons for uncaring masters and gods that see them as statistics, numbers on a page, no different from any other expendable resource like ammo or fuel.

Every dead skitarius is an unavoidable tragedy and every victory is made hollow by the knowledge that it was ultimately pointless. The soldiers of the Mechanicus are pathetic figures, even more pitiful than imperial guardsmen on an individual level because of the extensive cyberization and dogmatic fanaticism. They're figures that have been stripped of their humanity but, rather than being elevated beyond human like space marines, have been reduced to an ironic and overwhelmingly sad sub-human state.

To be fair, the unit with the warlord will come down T1 no matter what. If the lord has a Dimensional Key, he has a pretty good chance of reaching combat because he can reroll charge distance for having a jump pack that wasn't used in the movement phase, and when he kills something, everything else doesn't scatter.

Almost 1. The Emperor could not destroy or banish. With each blow it struck the Emperor it drained out his soul. The Emperor did a desperate gambit by trapping it inside a Custodes who he told to run far away in the Webway. Get as fat from his as possible since as long as the daemon is kept away from the Emperor, humanity will endure. Then the Emperor sealed the Webway gate for good measure.

Basically, I want to play Iron Warriors with the Traitor Legion rules but also run my two Basilisk tanks, just like in the good old days.

Essentially, you'd build an army of Iron warriors, though you'd only be able to use formations rather than detatchments. Then, you stick two Unbound Basilisks on top of it. They'll still be counted as Imperial Guard units and will need to deploy away from other things, but you could still add them in.
>>
>>51069519
I did and now I understand it even less than before.

>>51069565

Which is better for Night Lords?

Traitor Legions (CSM)
Legions Astartes (30k)

I'm leaning towards 30k
>>
>>51069497
Take your Iron Warriors In a Chaos Space Marine detachment that you design Iron Warriors. This could either be a CAD, or the "Iron Warriors Grand Company" detailed in Traitor Legions.

To get specifically Basilisks (as opposed to Vindicators or other standard CSM tanks) you'll need to ally in a detachment from the Traitor Guard(Renegades and Heretics) detailed in Imperial Armor 13. You'll need to take a CAD so your Basilisks will have a tax of an HQ and 2 Troops, but luckily R&H are dirt cheap and make good tarpits. IA13 is in the second link in the OP.

>>

>>51069545
Just to summarize if I got it right:

If I do that, I would have to make a Battle-Forged army, fulfilling the requirements for a primary detachment (1 HQ, 2 Troops of IWs) and an allied detachment (1 HQ, 1 Trooper of renegades)

After that, I would have access to 1 Heavy Support Slot, that can buy an Artillery formation (for the basilisk).

>>51069577
>>51069582
So, what would you guys recommend I go for, the Unbound army or the real army with an allied detachment?
>>
>>51069596
>necron god
No such thing, part of the whole doomed to brief lives under a cancer-sun is no gods.
>>
>>51069565
If you go the Unbound route you'll get Blood Feud, Iron Within, Iron Without, Patrons of the Technovirus, and Siege Masters. You would not get the Warsmith, Masters of Annihilation or Instractible Brotherhood rules. Nor would you get Objective Secured from a CAD.

If you go this route >>51069584, you have to take some extra Traitor Guard, but you have all benefits available to you. You'd also need to go this route if you want to play in most tournaments since few allow unbound armies.
>>
>>51069602
what if celestine is

possessed by something similar to a good demon, perhaps a being of pure light, and it escapes from her because the emperor can no longer contain it, and purges the sector of all things unclean, including any imperial planets that are tainted by the slightest bit of heresy
>>
>>51069633
Unbound might suffice, though some people might not want to play you as much. An Allied detatchment wouldn't be too tricky to add, as troops for R&H are rather cheap. That also has the benefit of giving you access to some other neat tanks and IG vehicles.

Yup, you got it.

>>51069633
Generally battle forged is recommended since unbound is looked down on outside of friendly games. However, as you get back into things you can probably just go with Unbound at first and add the Traitor Guard later if you decide you want to make you army battle forged for whatever reason.

Keep in mind that instead of the CAD you could use an Iron Warriors Grand Company as your primary detachment if you wanted, and still be able to add on the allied detachement (or CAD of Traitor Guard). IW often just use CAD though so they can have Oblits as troops.

Looks pretty solid to me, only thing I'd change would be to replace nebuloscopes with shadowlooms. You dont need ignore cover with 3 gauss blaster shots on average when you have a bunch of AP2 sticksand an AP2 kill ray on stalker. Rather take that insufferable 3+ jink.
>>
>>51069717

How does this affect Tyranids, Orks and the Eldar factions? This would greatly empower the Necrons against all factions with warp-based power.

>>51069698
I think the bigger issues is using a literal backhanded slap as the move which wins the fight.

And introducing Celestine just to kill her off seems ridiculous. Not to mention its hardly an impressive victory on Abaddon's behalf so it does nothing but kill off all three of the only SOB characters introduced in the very book they are introduced in.

That and between killing Celestine, her two Sisters and Valeria in one book (and no male characters of import dying it seems) I gotta wonder if someone at GW recently ordered a cull of all female charaacters.

Orks lose their Waaaaagh! effect and a lot of their technology will be shitter (than usual) and outright cease to function. Without the Waaagh! Orks will not grow bigger and smarter as they fight.

The Tyranid Hivemind will suffer greatly because any Hive Fleet in range will be cut off from the hivemind and the most psychic nids might just keel over and die. The hive fleets will be scattered and confused.

The Eldar would just become cripples or die.
>>
>>51069774
Presumably it'd effect Nids, since Greyfax a Psyker was affected, and Nids are largely just a powerful Psyker race.

But the jury is out till we're shown in canon since Nids seem to also avoid most of the dangers most Psykers suffer such as Daemonic Temptation/Corruption or exploding into portals for Daemons to come through.

tl;dr Who knows, we'll have to probably wait till they tell us.
>>
>>51069804
>implying the will of an orc isn't stronger than logic
>>
>>51069804
Will Orks be affected as such? I've never heard of Necron tech affecting Orks in such a way. The Waaagh is already quite unique seeing as the Shadow in the Warp doesn't seem to stop it either going by every Ork/Nid encounter we know.

Why introduce a new Miniature for her then?

Also what about Valeria and the Gemini?

I mean best case scenario is Celestine comes back, and I pray to the Emperor she does, but since its GW I'm also not going to be surprised if all the major female characters in the Imperium all die off.

Bigger deal anyway is that Abaddon's big victory is a swordfight against a normal woman. Where's Logan or Ragnar or Helbrecht? Abaddon beating a SoB is hardly impressive.

So good people, yesterday i played a 4k vs 4k game of thousand sons vs DA deathwing.
favored and blessing of tzeentch all over, magnus/forgefiend/heldrake/helbrute extras, fully loaded core with 20 rubrics in 3 rhinos, 18 termies, astral grimoire termie star, daemon prince, termie sorc/3 sorc, renegade knight w thermal cannon/fist. All sorcerers and dp ML3, using mostly tzeentch with one sinistrum and one ectomancy.
Opponent had plasma&pick bikers/flamer bikers/multimelta attack bikes/2 melta land speeders, that skimmer with the sword guy, all the hq's like az,ez,as,bel, termies with shields, three rhinos full of marines, unit of jump marines, a melta dread in pod, neph jet fighter and a storm eagle.

I win roll off, deploy everything except 2 termie squads and heldrake. he seizes and shoots up some stuffs, plinks the knight once and grabs more or less all the objectives and scores 5 maelstorm points.
I move my shit up, explode a rhino with my forgefiend, shoot down the tacs inside a bit, melta blasts another rhino and kill some tacs. Feels like im doing great, though magnus and dp didnt do fuck all flying and my psychich phase was more or less only getting blessings.
Next turn he assault just about everything, deepstrikes 10 termies in the middle, explodes all my rhinos, kill forgefiend and immobilize helbrute, gets an 1hp-explode result and a glance on the knight, yet i dont lose That much models.
back and forth like that until i give up with 2 points vs 12 turn 4 when magnus dies in combat with half my opponents army cause i landed, tired of flying and not doing any damage. He even tanked my daemon prince + magnus in cc at the same time with his little hq-star.

Lessons learned: dont use magnus, hes more or less useless at those points. Dont get tied up in combat, which is impossible. Try to stay mobile, yea also impossible.. 26 warp charges barely covers the force-casting needed for blessing of tzeentch on 9 units.. ohwell it was more fun than old 1ks

Not really. In Wraithflight, the Shadow in the Warp was so powerful it created a potent null field in real space. This threatened to kill any living Eldar so the Eldar sent wraith warriors instead.

Okay, then I will do just that. Thanks for the help everyone, I really appreciate it.

I don't think I'll go for the Grand Company right away, because the choices available seem like like a lot of investment, I'm more the guy for smaller games and a flavorful list.

What I imagine the army look like, is something like a Warpsmith as my HQ (he hangs out with the basilisks), 2 squads of Iron Warriors CSMs and the cannon fodder + tanks (having to buy renegades actually makes the list more fluffy imo).
>>
>>51069851
Interestingly that article doesn't mention Orks.

And additionally implies Pylons don't insta-defeat nids either. An impressive weapon but clearly no auto-win.
>>
>>51069847
Abbaddon killed the Imperium's greatest swordmaster in M31, one whom had beaten Sevatar and Khârn, iirc, the first Emperor's Champion, and founder of the Black Templars, Sigismund. There are none who can beat him in melee combat fluffwise in M41, though I dunno about on the tabletop.

Did I say GW hates women? No I didn't.

I did point out that they aren't very good at representing Female Special characters and just killed four of them off in the space of one book, three of them having only been introduced in that book.

As for this 'blaze of glory' that argument will be valid once all the characters of another Imperium faction die too.

Would you like to take a bet then that in the next book all the Space Wolf Special Characters die? Or all the Blood Angels?

Why not kill Creed?

Honestly I'm not even sure what your point is. You're using this nebulous concept of 'a blaze of glory' to assert that there's nothing wrong with GW killing off exclusively all the SoB's special characters in the very book they are introduced in.
>>
>>51069880
Yes but the Blood Angels didn't also lose all their special characters in the same book said characters were introduced in. It is a pretty big disparity in treatment.

Magnus is mediocre, despite what shitposters on /tg/ claim. He's a 650 model that's entirely reliant on the rest of the army being built around fueling his prodigious Warp Charge requirements, and his damage output will often fail to make up for the resources required.

Favored of Tzeentch is worthless. Note the wording of the rule; it turns off once the formation loses a unit. The Plague Colony and Kakophani both have clauses in their "favored number" rules that specify they only need the maxed unit count at the beginning of the game.

Because when Abaddon fights her she's been deprived of those powers. She is reduced to a simple human, implied due to her resurrections to even be potentially weakened.

>someone at GW recently ordered a cull of all female charaacters.
>sexist gold
Sure, you're definitely not shitposting about gender representation in a dystopian hellscape game made by and almost exclusively for men. A game based entirely around warfare, something that has pretty much been an exclusively male activity throughout human history.

It won't be in the next book, but I'd be willing to wager that one or more Space Wolf characters will die before the conclusion of the 13th Black Crusade.

Creed very well might die. Or he might just faff about in the background and never get time in the limelight.

My real point is that Sisterfags are practically nonexistent outside internet echo chambers and that martyring themselves was pretty much the best possible outcome of their involvement in the End Times.

There's no evidence for that position. Compare the wording of Favored of Tzeentch to the wording of the Vindicator/Predator squadron bonuses and to the Plague Colony/Kakophani formation bonuses. RaW Favored of Tzeentch definitely turns off once a unit from the formation karks.

Witchfire spam can work for Tzeentch Daemons, but that's about it. Thousand Sons just aren't efficient enough in terms of WC generation and are hamstrung by the discipline of Tzeentch.

Sure there is. Most formation bonuses that can be lost mid battle explicitly call out that they will do so. For example The Hellforged Warpack provides a bonus "while their Warpsmith is alive and on the battlefield". Favoured of Tzeentch has neither that language, not the "at the start" language from Plague Colony. It's sort of in between. - Disciples - 85pts
Carapace for Squad
Champion w/ Pistol and CCW
- Leader
1 Disciple w/ Autogun
1 Disciple w/ Plasmagun
- FNP Specialist
Autocannon Team
- Relentless Specialist

- Veterans - 115pts
Carapace for Squad
4 Vets w/ Pistol, CCW
1 Vet w/ Pistol, CCW
- Re-roll Wounds Specialist
Dedicated Chimera w/ Autocannon

I've never played Killteam before, so I don't really know what to do. Idea is to kill anything scary with autocannons and assault what they don't kill.

But considering that this is the first time I tried building a list on my own, it's probably horribly stupid/illegal to play. Going higher, pointswise, wouldn't be much of a problem. I'd just like to have a useful list that I can build over time.

Hey anon, Renegades player here. I would definitely go with the platoon of bodies over five dudes.

Renegades are just not good, and the only benefit vets have over regular infantry is WS 4 BS 3 instead of WS 2 BS 2. They're meant to take gear. If you're just taking vets without a chimera or special weapons, you're paying 6pts a model for no performance.

You'd be much better with 30 bodies each carrying a lasgun/autogun or hell, even a pistol and a knife, just for sheer weight of number of dice. At least they might do something worthwhile.

Or, if you think like a real Renegade, it's easier to cover more of your valuable troops with 30 models than it is five. Gotta love that sweet, sweet friends and enemies cover save.

You've made baseless claims that the rule isn't clear, but it is. If a unit has been destroyed, the formation no longer contains the maximum number of units. The ability to reroll 1's is contingent on the formation having the maximum number of units. This is conclusive based on the RaW and there is no strong evidence one way or the other for the RaI.

GOODBYE CADIA. HELLO TERRA!
>>
>>51070484

To give a little more constructive feedback other than just "hahaha this sucks read a book", if you're going for Templars, their strength is in bodies holding power weapons. Assault Troops are a decent choice, and if you're not taking armor Devastators are solid.

Like the other Anon said, dedicate each devastator squad to a task. Anti-tank? Take Lascannons. Anti-infantry? Heavy Bolters for most things, or Plasma Cannons for killing other Marines.

A big problem you might face is, as again the other anon pointed out, is that Rhinos are small, and your squads should be big. You need a way to distract the enemy while your dudes are running across the field. Then you run into the problem that running is slow, but that's a different topic for a different day.

Ideally, you want to be in assault in turn 2, turn 3 at the very latest. Assault troops will help with this, but they're not going to be enough to carry your army.

Think about what kind of army you want, and then read the codex. Maybe Templars aren't what you're looking for.

Otherwise, if you're collecting for the hobby and not the game, do literally whatever the hell you want.

Just getting back into 40k after a 10 year break....can anyone explain why the 13th Black Crusade is happening again?

Pretty sure that already got done back when I was a kid.
>>
>>51070617
$60 if I have to guess. That's what Drycha, a comparable size/complexity character model for AoS Sylvaneth is. The Triumverate is likely "discounted" in the manner of many of GWs bundle boxes these days. Greyfax will end up $25 and Celestine/Twins 40-50 if boxed individually.
>>
>>51070634
Oh I'm buying but I want to pay my part and my friend pay his part. Since the bloody bundle is not an obvious split.

4 models for him, 1 Carnifex for me. With no price references we are kind of lost.
>>
>>51070667
>Pretty sure that already got done back when I was a kid.
Done and subsequently retconned. Now GW is doing it again on their terms.
>>
>>51070660
He wanted to take on a role of galactic savior and be a part of history. When he realized he basically screwed things up with his "help", he knew then he was better off as a thief than a would be failure.

He wanted to nap Abaddon and escape but he couldn't (for now) so he left.
>>
>>51070674
I guess 14th Black Crusade doesn't have the same ring to it.

Lol sounds great. Why not?
>>
>>51070671
The set is £50 that is why it is rather confusing. Let's work with pounds for prices mostly out because they are the original prices.
>>
>>51070667
All the black crusade fluff got retconned/shifted around since for years 40k was never allowed to progress in time.
>>
>>51070673
count the parts, weight the sprues, make a emotional estimate of how much it's worth to you.
>>
>>51070684
The issue is that if they did the 14th it would be almost immediately after the 13th in 40k time.
>>
>>51070688
The planet was exploding. Was too dangerous.
>>
>>51070617
£30 for the Magos, £20 for Celestine and her guards, £10 for the Inquisitor. That seems a roughly fair split, IMO.

>>51070592
Well, it's not like we expected anything else. I'm sure we can all look forwards to more of this drivel in the months ahead.

>...Does this mean this is going to be 40k's End Times?

Probably not that far. 40k is GW's main cash cow and they aren't going to risk losing that by Age of Sigmaring it. But expect to see a lot more of GW's current "hahahaha chaos is teh best XD" narrative stamped all over the setting in the future.
>>
>>51070719
Yes and No. They're building to an actual climactic event/permanent shift. They supposedly will not be going full Age of Sigmar though, so don't expect the galaxy to be swallowed by the Warp. You could probably see just about anything short of that however.

My whole idea for an army is that I have (or rather will - I'm working on them) some stuff as pure Black Legion, some stuff painted BL, but with clear Nurgle conversions, some marines with CCWs painted as BL, but with one shoulder pad red. Basically universtal stuff, like Raptors, Rhinos and Havocs would be clearly BL, while some marines, bikers and a lord would be nurgly BL, and some marines and a lord on a juggy would be khorney BL. Would it be fine with you Anons if I were to run the force as BL/DG/WE interchangeably (ofc themeing with god-aligned units, when using DG/WE)?

Why do people keep posting this and saying she's dead? Right towards the end, clear as day, it says she gets back to her feet, still fucking alive, holy shit. The battle is not over.
>>
>>51070728

It's all so fucking absurd.

The sense of scale is what simply doesn't make sense.

Every Marine Chapter would head for Terra.

Every planet (of which there are a million) would send their regiments.

Abaddon would be facing hundreds of Chapters of Space Marines.

Trillions of Guardsmen

Trillions of Skiitarii

Thousands upon thousands of ships from the Imperial Navy.

dozens of Titan legions

but in reality it will be

Holy Terra is under attack
>Oh um... just... yeah just make a few calls
Shall we call everyone?
>No... no... erm... just like... yeah just a smattering, just a few people
I can try everyone
>Naaaah, just a few Chapters, that's fine

It's all so tiresome.

Are you an idiot. The 13th Black Crusade is happening at the same time as massive Xenos invasions are going on. The biggest Waaagh! in history, the Hive fleets, the Necrons, and thousands of minor xenos races who are now taking their revenge on the Imperium.

Each one of these threats alone can be the death of the Imperium.

So the first Admech character has shitty rules and fails at fluff? Dammit.

Hey, he shrunk the fucking Eye of Terror, although no idea if that will continue now the Pylons are down.
Why is this relatively small skirmish important again? Did the Imperium make an orderly retreat or what? I don't particularly care about anyone in this book apart from Cawl, so as far as I know Abbadon, keystone of Chaos just risked his life in a duel against two Guard regiments and some Space Wolves.

Admech have still not used more than their rules conventional forces, too. No Ordinatii?
>>
>>51070800
>How unviable is a non-guard GSC army, or a non-guard GSC/Tyranids army?

Perfectly viable, though you'll mostly be relying on assault to kill the enemy. The Genestealer Cult decurion has two core formations - the Neophyte Cavalcade which is your IG-like armoured convoy, and the Brood Cycle, which is a big ol' mess of hybrids and purestrains. You'd want that, plus Demolition Claw formations to handle your dedicated anti-vehicle work.

Genestealer Cults are allies of convenience with IG, so you can always ally some Guard stuff in on the side without needing to convert. Perfectly justified since they can be explained as hypnotised human "brood brothers" instead of hybrids as well.

Honestly I'm mostly just peeved at people being unable to fucking read and making a great deal of assumptions. It will probably take 3-4 books and 2-8 years before we find out how that battle ends, and I promise you, even if she dies to Abaddon in that fight (which she won't, neither will her bodyguards who just received brand new rules and models), she will come right back. Yeah, it might make sense that Abaddon would outright slay her and that would be it. This isn't a sensible setting. This is GW. This is 40k. Anyone willing to bet the next page will have Drach'nyen getting banished back into the warp alongside all of the other daemons, saving Celestine? Cause that sounds like a possibility at this point.

Also, doesn't this kinda fuck over Abaddon's entire plan? The Crimson Path requires him having a daemon army, and he just lost all of it. Hell, the Pylons passively held back the Eye of Terror. Turning them on might cause it to recede at this point.

So, this seems like a fine start to me. (keeping 70 points open for gear, depending on what I'm fighting).

750P has always been my favorite entry-point and it will be easy to expand. For 1000, I will upgrade/replace the Renegade Veterans with more meatshields and stock up that second CSM squad. For 1250 and 1500, I will add Havocs, Obliterators and some CSM tanks, if enough space.

Beyond that, it's already too big for my tastes (I prefer smaller games over apocalyptic nonsense), but never say never.

>>51070514
Got it, thanks. I will stick to the vets for budget and point purposes for now, but upgrade it into the swarm once I expand the army.

It's not the first time.

Dear Lady, let me express my fulsome appreciation for your most generous gift. It is so very rare to discover another of my own kind that appreciates my work, therefore to find understanding amongst a member of another race is nothing short of a revelation. I realise that you briefly trod my galleries, but the fact that you spotted in so short a time that my Acabrius War collection was lacking three regiments of Catachan warriors reveals that you truly have a collector's eye for detail. And to send five regiments! Such generosity will allow me to weed out and replace a few of the more substandard pieces in my collection. If I might level a minor criticism, the instructions issued to your gift were manifestly not as clear as you thought, as most of them had to be forcibly restrained -- sadly it seems that the lower orders will always behave like an army of invasion, whether that be their purpose or not. However, this is a minor complaint and seems almost churlish under the circumstances, so please allow me to repay your gift with one of my own. Accompanying this message is the Hyperstone Maze, one of a series of Tesseract Labyrinths constructed at the height of the Charnovokh Dynasty. It is a trinket really, only of interest to scholars such as you and I, but I trust you will find it amusing -- assuming you have the wit to escape its clutches, of course.

I'm beginning to think Games Workshop uses the Admech as damage mitigation. In Damocles, they put up that giant firewall thing and here they used the Pylons to fuck over Chaos so they could call it a pyrrhic Chaos victory. This does mean they are never actually involved in the plot properly and thus the Heresy-old Archmagos goes to Cadia with some shitty basic troops, rather than Ordinatii by the score, Arks Mechanicus, Myrmidons, all the bullshit he can scrape up. Why not cyclonic torpedo the planet when it's clearly lost and loads of Chaos bigwigs are stuck there for a while since the Warp isn't working?

Just bought my first box of skitarii....whats the consensus on the best way to arm them?

I was leaning towards radium carbines and plasma calivers but now I'm reading the galvanic rifle rules and in addition to seeming a bit more versatile due to it's increased range, they also get precision shots which means I can pick where wounds are allocated within a unit...right?

Vanguard with plasma appealed to me because it seemed more suited to aggressive tactics but with Rangers it looks to me like you can have a unit that can move and shoot out to 30" and give it three transuranic rifles to sniping tanks up to 60" away.

I've not really played other than an intro game at the local store, so I'm worried I might be missing something by just looking at it on paper. Anyone play Skitarii and got any practical advice?

Which sisters version is valid now, the codex or the Imperial Agents one?

Yes

It's only fair. It was Imperial fleet deus machina that saved Cadia in Eye of Terror global campiegn which was utterly bullshit.

Why not take oblits over the chaos Marines? 5 chaos Marines without a rhino will not accomplish anything

Vanguard.
>>
>>51071300
Vanguard are pretty much always better than Rangers, since the -1T in melee is way better than weak precison shots that can be LoSd. Also better volume of fire. TA is complete shit, in fact a lot of the time it's a downgrade to the Galvanics.

One 10-Vanguard unit with 3 Plascals, a couple more barebones (No specials, Omnispex) and if you must bring Rangers have 5-mans with 2 Arc Rifles. Never TA.

>This really seems like another of Abaddon's "wins" with the other Black Crusades, where he achieves some strategic victory at the cost of losing a shit ton of stuff, in this case his daemon army.

If not, GW can always pull an orc mary sue out of their asses to beat him up just before the finale and reset the status quo.

Kharn beat the fuck out of him but got cock blocked by khorne
>>
>>51071368

Cadia is gone, literally.

The Eye is bigger than it has ever been.

For all his failures before, including the first retconned failed 13th Black Crusade, this one looks to have succeeded.
>>
>>51071323
I just read that myself, and I don't understand why you people assume things and then post your own opinions on it like they're facts. It's very easy to interpret that short story, where it barely even mentions Valeria, or what actually happened to her, never outright says she's fucking dead, or even killed by Imperials, as saying not only is she NOT dead, but that he still has her fucking locked up, and is looking for the particular vault where he is keeping her, as he wants her assistance.

Wrong, Abaddon was taking in easy on Kharn and holding back. Abaddon could have ended the fight by the first strike which was so fast Kharn couldn't react to it.

When the Bloodthirster arrived, Abaddon had Kharn pinned down with his sword slowly inching towards Kharn's head. Kharn was fainting and could only do one last thing before he blacked out. He could chop off one of Abaddon's limps but he would end up dying.

Since pylons in cadia were the only thing keeping a stable path open towards eye of terror does that mean chaos will have a very hard time attacking imperium in big crusades, and abbadon with his dudes gets stuck here without being able to escape towards eye of terror ?

Read the Eye of Terror results. It's a victory for Chaos.

And the 13th Black Crusade didn't end. The war was ongoing. Don't try to rewrite history.

That fight still wasn't canon.

It's just written terribly to be honest, it would be like your DM killing off a character by having the Innkeeper say "shame about that samurai guy, getting mugged, raped and murdered sometime during the night, but ya know, these are dangerous times".
>>
>>51071450

Nah, they lost the campaign because the Battle Fleet Gothic Imperial players raped the Chaos players which cost him the Crusade, which is why we're on the 14th Black Crusade, retconned to the 13th

BL not canon unless official GW confirms. Why do you think Kharn wasn't in this Crusade?
>>
>>51071468
Wrong. Like I said, read the results.

The Imperial Navy took over the space system lanes which prevented traitor reinforcements from overtaking Cadia fully. Cadia still got isolated and the Traitors still control the space above. The Cadian Gate is breached and traitors are invading the wider Imperium. I am gonna post the results just you wait, you liar.
>>
>>51071505
Posting the results of Eye of Terror.

>THE BEGINNING OF THE END TIMES
>Darkness has fallen across a hundred worlds, and for the defenders of the Cadian Gate, the pure light of day now seems but a distant memory. Though the forces of the Despoiler have been denied the ultimate prize of the fall of Cadia, Abaddon’s hordes have gained a foothold upon the worlds of Man, and none can see them being repelled for many years to come. Abaddon and his council of three have outmanoeuvred and out fought the forces of the Imperium at almost every turn. Corpses litter the battlefields in their millions, yet millions more still stand beleaguered, against a foe that knows no mercy and whose only goal is the utter destruction of all who stand before them.

>The Thirteenth Black Crusade has broken the Imperium’s hold upon the Cadian Gate- perhaps forever. The raging tempest of the Eye of Terror has surged forth, engulfing those worlds lost to Chaos. The Imperium no longer bars the gate to the Eye, only a small channel remains through which Imperial Navy vessels may pass to bring aid to the desperate forces upon Cadia.

>At the close of the Thirteenth Black Crusade, Cadia still stands. But she stands alone, a failing beacon flickering against the encroaching night. Total war is come to Segmentum Obscurus, and all hopes of repelling the invaders are dashed. The Imperium must now consolidate its grip upon those worlds it still holds, and prepare to fight a war that will not end within the lifetime of any of its combatants. While Cadia still stands, humanity has reason to hope, but Abaddon the Despoiler has finally achieved what he has failed to do on twelve previous occasions, over ten thousand years- he has breached the Cadian Gate, and none can now hold back the inexorable tide of Chaos unleashed upon the Imperium of Man
>>
>>51071505
Why did they retcon that one again? Seems better written than the Hollyjew-tier abomination we got now.
>>
>>51071528
Because, IIRC, writing in a galaxy that's being overrun by Chaos is a tad too hard. Also GW is full of Imperialfags and they are known for their anti-Chaos bias.

Here is the full results.

>Cadia still got isolated and the Traitors still control the space above
Chronologically, the BFG results are later than the EoT results (which ended with the blackstone still in orbit over cadia). They were also released later, as a sort of epilogue for 4th edition to pick up on (with the cadian gate containing the forces of chaos, but still threatened because of the sheer numbers/damages of them planetside).

This is all moot at this point since GW's quietly retconned it all back in 5th edition, but don't make stuff up.
>>
>>51071586

I dont think that woudl be much of a problem, see this.
As you can see cadia is only like a buldge inside the eye of terror. Since it is not expending that much at the outer levels the worst case scenario is cadia system being sucked inside the eye of terror.
Even if eye of terror expands it will take millions of years
>>
>>51071684
>it doesn't go against the results
Yes it does. In the campaign newsletter the cadian gate was open. In the BFG magazine the cadian gate was closed.
>>
>>51071710
and just as an aside, I remember people being pissed off they printed that in BFG magazine rather than white dwarf, because getting ahold of BFG magazine was a pain in the ass

You goes have no idea what the Crimson Path is? The Eye will expand rapidly fed by the death and carnage. In a short time it will reach Terra.

>What the future holds for these worlds is uncertain, though. The Cadian Gate may not be open to Abaddon, but more of his followers are over the wall than ever before. Abaddon's fleets suffered many crushing defeats, but not before they had borne the hordes of chaos to dozens of crucial worlds. These same worlds still canker with the decay which Typhus, Abaddon, and the countless other ambitious warlords of Chaos have brought to them and, though there may be few reinforcements on the horizon for the forces of Chaos, those traitors and rebels already gathered may very well be enough to lay the Imperium low in the coming days...
