S4 was more of my design, as there was no source for the exact wording on the certs, the info was pulled from the AL modules, DMG or CoS. Unlik S1-3 which I was able to confirm 99% via pictures of the certs.

But if you have all of S4 ones, I would be happy to reedit them so they are 100% correct in the wording.

The naming convention on them is like

DDAL04-07: The Innocent - Curse of Strahd

The code on the back is AL040701 (two digits for season number, module number, item number within the module)

The official certs for s4 hardcover did not exist, as far as I know.

The only one i have seen that was digitally provided to retailers was for SKT - A Great Upheaval, which i have on the trove. I figured they would do it for the DDAL5 modules as well but no one has leaked these. I don't think they were doing this for COS though.

I have actual versions of the originals - i just wanted to see what differences had crept into the system - like the sorcery shtuff you mention. Also, armor might have a different mechanic, iirc.

The quality of the scans varies, some of those gamebooks were done literally 10-15 years ago. I keep promising myself one day I'll sit down and scan my collection (I have a full set) but honestly that's a fucking daunting project. Just doing Titan was hard enough and that's not even a gamebook.

Incidentally Ian Livingstone recently announced he was writing a new book, set all over Allansia, featuring Yaztromo, Zagor etc. It'll be the first one since the 'unofficial' Blood of the Zombies in 2013, and the first 'official' once since the unpublished Bloodbones in 2006.

Also all FF fans should check out Inkle Studio's Sorcery! for iOS, it's fucking amazing.

And now for an even more ludicrously impossible request: There were two CD supplements released for SenZar, but I can't find any evidence of their existence beyond a 15-page sampler of CB2 and CB3's predecessor, a section of the old SenZar website.

Haven't had the chance to try it in-game yet, but my impression was that Sorcery and Wizardry are actually pretty cleverly balanced. They just each have different pros and cons.

Wizardry:
- Very large repertoire of spells.
- Uses MP, a separate resource from your STAMINA.
- A spell for every occasion.
- Hard to cast in armor.
- Start knowing very few spells, need to learn more individually.

Sorcery:
- Somewhat smaller repertoire of spells.
- Each spell does something very specific, but very well.
- Combat spells in particular are extremely powerful and dramatic BUT they're also among the priciest, and when you're paying with STAMINA rather than MP this is no small thing.
- Spells drain your own STAMINA (this THE big disadvantage on Sorcery).
- Start off knowing ALL OF YOUR SPELLS, FROM THE START (and this is the big advantage).
- Can cast in armor, no problem.
- The cheapest spells are also the ones that require material ingredients, which can range from the literally dirt cheap (e.g. a handful of sand) to the exotic (a galehorn, a giant's molar).

Also, from an in-universe point of view I always had a weird question about sorcery: canonically speaking, the 48 spells in the Sorcery! Spellbook are literally all there are. Those are the spells known to sorcerers of the Old World. Anything aside from that is supposed to be Archmagery rituals.

However, all 48 of those spells seem very tailor made to adventuring purposes, and very little else. Like, there isn't almost any spells I would think "huh, that'd be useful to have around the house" or even "huh, that'd be useful for the court sorcerer to have so he can influence the fate of the nation." It's all spells that seem made almost exclusively to fit the needs of individual warrior types traveling around exotic places and dungeons fighting monsters.

Which bears thinking: what the hell is the cultural role of sorcerers in the Old World?

I always got the feeling they were like a specifically trained corps, Analand's special forces as it were.

The big thing about Sorcery is that you get RES (which only costs a point and just needs holy water, but is an incredibly powerful spell) and ZED (which if used properly would be literally game-breaking). A DM would need to make sure players didn't abuse this.

That. If you want to rein in the power of ZED, just don't give sorcerers opportunity to learn its secret. Without its, ZED's less than useless. They try to use it, poof, they end up at some random point in time. And time's big. Lots of random points to end in, and most are completely useless. And since they cannot control the spell, recasting it again won't fix anything. And eventually, they'll run out of STAMINA. Or at least spend the rest of their existence lost in time, hopelessly leaping from one era to another, spending enough time in each just to eat and sleep enough to recover 7 STAMINA, until they get eaten by trilobites somewhere in the distant past or starve to death in the far future beneath a red sun.

Very cool adventure idea, actually, but insomuch as the sorcerer's original companions could be concerned, he just vanished, and that was the end of it.

Man, makes me remember one of those Choose Your Own Adventure books (was it the first one?). One of your choices was whether to go to the past or the future after entering some kind of time traveling cave. If you go to the future, you eventually get picked up by a "tribe"(?) of far future humans, who appear to lead a hunter gatherer existence while at the same time living on an amazing, automated antigravity ship that tends to their every need. You can either stay where you are or go away, feeling that "there's something degenerate and rotten about those people". If you stay where If you do, you get eaten by some predatory animal that scared the shit out of me as a kid (the text, eerily enough, even doesn't bother describing it, just saying something like "the thing that approaches you is about the same size as a sheep, but looks VERY different...", leaving you to gaze at the picture of some abominable bug monster and ponder your doom).

I think you just spend the rest of your life in mindless leisure, watching holomovies and being cared for by robots aboard the ship, since none of the future humans have anything interesting for you to talk about (they're pretty much eloi tier by this point. Either retarded into infantilism or only care about stuff like music and philosophy which is incomprehensible to 20th century people).

The distant future is somewhat depressing.

I only just stumbled here last night through a post on 7chan.

I read through every one of the "volumes" in the first part of Da Archive (Jan 3) (and found many things I was interested in - even wargames) then I read the rest of the archive doc and opened another 15 or so of the entries, maybe more that were in the ballpark.

As for C&C, I always see the same about 3-12 files shared, I am afraid. However, I am not as "sweating it" as these modules at least go on sale 50--75% off a couple times a year from what I was told (missed 75% in Nov)

I found a Judge's guild printing of Carse and Chaosium Cities ---> Which was one I needed!

No luck on oldies Thieves' world modules (only Vulgar Unicorn and Black Snake which were both from later versions anyhow and I have)

So I'm starting to doubt myself, but I can't seem to find a copy of the 5th Edition (Space) Orks Codex from Warhammer 40k in any of the archives. /40kg/ has current (6/7) edition, 2e, and 4e.

It has only the same 12 or 14 C&C pdfs I find online.

The Zagyg/Yggsburgh stuff is pretty rare. I've only seen Upper Works linked once and never seen Yggsburg.

The Chaosium stuff iwasn't there either. Again, it could be I am too thick to see the paths etc, but I ctrl-F'ed and read through manually.

All the Castles & Crusades Zagyg/Yggsburgh stuff is done uploading. There are two different versions of Options & Skills. I don't see any difference, but they have different file sizes, so maybe one's got a hidden watermark or something? I dunno.
