Alright, so I've been thinking... there are plenty of open source, easy to use Visual Novel Programs.

How would you guys like an Open Towergirls game project? At it's core it would be little more than an interactive version of your standard Towergirls CYOA, where you'd choose a princess, then go through a very simplistic game of Rock-Paper-Scissors-Spock, with various princesses and attributes determining if you win a Fuck, Marry, or Kill encounter with a respective princess. Not much in the way of gameplay.

The upside, however, is that it would be easy to modify princesses and expand on the project, and there's no reason why someone couldn't later come back and make a full on VN out of it. Thoughts?

Those aren't fetishes or turnoffs, those are just likes and dislikes.

A lot of the later princesses tend to do this. They use the template to represent things, without thinking about what those slots in the template really mean. I'd prefer to avoid that; it makes the whole thing seem less like Towergirls and more like... I don't know, a joke about Towergirls?

I'm never involved in these threads, or any CYOA threads, but I just wanted to let you guys know that your art and concepts are the shit and I've used them quite a few times to come up with NPCs/cultures/ect. Keep up the good work.

TOWERS 0.9.0 is up on the doc. I'm taking the previous releases offline.

Did some quick editing to rules, made an attempt at balancing the new weapons, and implemented the new rules for items. This may be the final pre-release version. Rules don't appear to need any major changes yet, but something might come up once I have a playtest going.

Several Mysteries are missing Powers and Rituals, as well as more specific rules, but aside from content the game as a whole is fairly close to completion. I'd like to have more stuff like items, powers, and rituals, but that's secondary to making sure everything works.

Send me suggestions for stuff you want to see. Mysteries, items, powers, rituals, those kinds of things. I made Pugilist because one of the playtesters I picked up wants to play an unarmed character, and any other suggestions have a decent chance of making it to the first finished release.

Since I'm just waiting for applications at this point, I went and made the Edge Mystery public, to give you all an idea of what you might expect from these expansions. It's in the main doc, on the second page.

Several of the options tied to the Edge Mystery expansion are labeled as "Awesome". "Awesome" options greatly increase the power level of characters who possess them, and depending on the campaign, Awesome options may be off-limit to players.

The Edge Mystery grants characters access to options which allow them to change damage types, make enemies more vulnerable to damage types, and control the flow of battle through crowd control.

Outside of combat, Edge is functionally identical to Charm (an item allows you to use Edge as if you had the Identity mystery); it's very much a Mystery designed for NPC antagonists.

Edge will not be a valid mystery for those who want to participate in the playtest. Depending on how the playtest goes, there may be an encounter against an enemy who uses the Edge Mystery.

Never really could come up with a good name for her. Nightmare Priestess is the placeholder name (technically, they're all Priestesses instead of Princesses since it fits the theme better; they're supposed to be priestesses of different cults). She's supposed to be the Shub-Niggurath-ish one, with the design loosely taking some elements from the Dark Young. I probably should add more tentacles, though.
I also used the design of her lower body for one of the Stygian monsters for Towergirls.

Also, I'm now reminded of this collectible figure game that was around when I was a kid, with green, blue, and red races of aliens that you'd use two of the make an army and fight other players using rock-paper-scissors mechanics (red beats green, blue beats red, green beats blue, IIRC). There's a reason people have been screaming about the removal of Whale Princess while whining like babies when people suggest making the cow a female or dropping one of the two redundant paladins in Ex3. There's a reason why there's a princess for every permutation of the breeding fetish but one fetish is expected to make due wit vague suggestions and use their imagination because "it's good enough." - Start in tavern. Knight asks what princess you like.
- You pick one. You travel to the tower.
- ??? (Not sure what tower traversal should be like, since visuals are at a minimum. Puzzles or something.
- You enter the tower. It's a high chance of being your princess, and then you go through some system to see if you fuck/marry/ignore them.
- If it's not your princess, same thing applies.
- You can choose to move to the next gen or continue to search for more princesses.
- Dowries exist, and have small effects for those who like gamebreaking shit.
- Not sure what else.

Tbh I don't see why we couldn't add a weight gain themed princess in expansion gen 4 or 5. We've got a lot weirder fetishes, and if there's people who feel there should be one, might as well use one princess slot for it.

Somewhat strange actually that while there's multiple princesses with implied/potential weight gain, none of them really has it explicitly on their cards (DP1 is often drawn as fat, but her card doesn't go beyond mentioning she has a big appetite, so the closest you really get is Mimic's "grown more voluptuous from eating flesh", and that implies to me more that she goes from flat to having breasts).
