Agree
We'll need to see how easy it is to enable Revolt during the prerelease

evolving wilds is still a thing bruv.
>>
>>51021130
Even if it's difficult to enable revolt, -3/-3 is preety huge. Attached to a body no less. This is high pick material in limited.

Great. You have a 4 of. You can expect to draw 1-2 in a game. It cannot be your condition for triggering Revolt. You need removal for your own creatures or puzzle knots.

I'm not saying he's bad. I just think Revolt is going to be a hard mechanic to realiably use. And I may be wrong. I just have my doubts. I HOPE it's good, because it seems interesting.

>>
>>51022018
The card pool is the same as moderns, if you started at M15 (which started a new card frame) and if modern had no ban list. So you can cast Dig Through Times if you want.

No idea what the metagame is like, but it has a bunch of old standard decks, and the standard decks that were oppressive in their time in standard are merely good because of hate cards. For example, Tormod's Crypt is in Frontier, but it wasn't in standard at the same time Rally the Ancestors was a deck.

I'm really getting sick of people thinking they know comics because they've seen TV shows and movies based on them. I mean, you people realize they're more inspired by the comics than anything, and don't just adapt, page for page, any actual comic, right?

Sorry dude, this is /tg/, not /co/. There are more divisions of Comic Knowledge than "Knows more about some obscure character that has never showed up outside of some grimy ass comic dungeon" and "scrub"

Maybe that didn't make sense. I'm saying that superheroes are a cringey as fuck thing to get too deep into, and you're complaining that since I don't know some obscure character (defined as obscure because there is no impact outside of the cringey as fuck corners), that obviously I know nothing about comics.

Again, /tg/, not /co/. If someone doesn't know anything about comics, who the fuck cares, because this is /tg/, not /co/. Even if your character is actually The Flash and the white male is actually a secret nazi for decades(because comics only use the highest quality concepts and mechanics), nobody fucking cares.

So fuck off back to /co/, fuck off back to tumblr, wherever you came over from, fuck off back to it.

There's also the fact that avoidance is a terrible and unhealthy way to deal with trauma as literally any psychiatrist will tell you, it only makes the issue worse.

As a more recent example look at the second ammendment. Democrats were continually banning select types of guns, clips, ammo, etc. Recently they were pushing for gun control across America.
Give them an inch.

In australia they are nearly impossible to get your hands on.

Another recent example is the fake news bill. That is a DIRECT attack on your freedom of speech. When the government gets to decide what is news and what isn't there is a problem.

Empires don't collapse in a day, but they always collapse because those running them fail at working for the people.

Seems like that would just be some sort of shapeshifter card which would still fit into the game, I'm down. Are shapeshifters too boogeyman for Magic now as well though?

Really while trigger warnings are stupid they have no impact on the game. While the lore and characters might be pushed in one direction, they still have no impact on the game's mechanics and what makes the game fun.

If someone saw Alesha and thought "HEY THAT CARD LOOKS FUCKING RAD" and didn't know anything about the MTG story attached to her, they would play her as a regular card thinking "This Alesha chick is a cool card and I like the deck I have built with her." If you now tell them about her story, whatever reaction they have, they will still probably play the deck having deemed it as fun despite now knowing that a single card in their deck has very light attachment to an extremely minimal LGBT push. Why minimal? Because Wizards makes a game where the core audience is presumably mostly straight dudes and is designed by presumably mostly straight cisdudes.

Infect you will go to 20 life then lose, others it depends how it goes, drawing on an empty deck you will get an extra turn etc.

Tou lose again immediately once state based actions are checked after the replacement effect occurs.

Poison counters/Commander damages are state based actions and after this resolves will check again and you will lose.

The art itself is fine it's the plasticy CG look it has that I dislike.
>>
>>51024576
What's your point?
>>
>>51023531
Yes.
>>
>>51024611
I'm not even seeing that. The reflections on the helmet look like actual brushstrokes to me and while there's nothing spectacular about the quality of the art it's certainly not as bad as what I would describe as 'plasticy CGI art' (RTR Syncopate, most of the Theros block Sea Monsters, a lot of facial closeups on more recent cards etc...)

That said, I'm no authority on art and I just think the art is nice not great or fantastic so to each their own; I'm definitely not going to try and convince anyone that this is good art.

Anyone have ideas about the Red legend? I think it'll either be

Or

Itll probably be crap. Red has been crap since Rabblemaster rotated.

Worth noting that with 4 of these you're already hitting for 16 damage so infinite combat steps is somewhat superfluous. It also only works if your opponent doesn't have a way to kill one of them.

that whole post is autistic as fuck. I have a question as a new player. What happens when a powerful set enters Standard, generally, when it comes to previously-standing decks?

Are they usually completely uprooted?
>>
>>51021963
also he just got arrested by the vedalken straight-man in the middle if a military assault.
>>
>>51024912
If the cards are literally just that much better than the previous ones, yes. It happens with any powerful cards, just to different degrees. The absolute worst case is overcentralization, where one single strategy becomes so powerful that the meta breaks down into two categories of decks: those built to use the strategy, and those build to shut it down.

>>51024912
depends on how disperate the powerlevels of existing decks and new archetypes are, and how well new archetypes stand on their own. usually new cards build up old archetypes or new archetypes cannibalize powerful existing cards as people try to experiment without abandoning known quantities. then after sone experience weaker previous decks and cards may fall off.

>>
>>51024725
Also worth noting that there are other couple other things that generate energy off combat damage so not necessarily needed to get exactly 4 of those on board.

Or just have enough energy to fuel 1-2 additional combat steps, should get the job done.

We'll see if the card is good enough payoff to make tweaked RG energy beatdown out of Pummeler shell.

>>
>>51024910
That's fine, but it's just not the case. You don't need to prove competence to own a car, just to drive it on public roads. It should be the same for firearms. Concealed carry permits are on a state by state basis and have different requirements.

Proof of competence isn't required to exercise any other right.
>>
Someone make a new thread.

Make the title Push it to the Limit.
>>
>>51025373
That's because it's a lot easier to hurt yourself, or someone else, or in fact a lot of people, with a gun than it is with a car. I'm sorry, but guns can be incredibly dangerous in the wrong hands.
>>
>>51025358
>>51025090
It won't come up in the very next block, so people will hate it for not being a new evergreen mechanic, so the mechanic will be despised forever unless it comes up in the atlantis block
>>
>>51025472
Atlantis block? Eh, underwater stuff is so often boring. Might be interesting if they bring back Cephalids though. I kinda like the manipulative little bastards.
>>
>>51024807
Uh, no. Every other color plays in the game. White plays it wide and defensive. Red plays it fast and direct. Green plays it big and bigger. Black plays it with indirect attacks and strong removal.

Blue plays it so indirectly its like using 3 dimensions in a 2d game. It circumvents entire phases, every single blue mechanic can be seen as either an outright subversion of the rules, or a meta-mechanic that struggles to fit in the theme without being crazy overpowered.
>>
Anyone else think the next block is gonna have -1/-1 counters?

That's not a valid legal argument.
>one constitutional right is potentially more dangerous than another therefore we are allowed to infringe upon it.
Has never been the intent of the Constitution, the court system, the legislature or any other legal device in the United States' history.
>>
>>51025658
For white people.
>>
>>51025658
But it is a valid legal argument when you understand that guns are designed to kill and are dangerous for that reason. Improper use of a gun is tantamount to improper use of heavy machinery or an automobile. Having some knowledge of how to safely use one is a net positive because it means you can excercise that right responsibly. Just like yelling fire in a crowded theatre or saying you have a bomb at an airport is an irresponsible use of the 1st amendment, not knowing how to safely handle a firearm is an irresponsible use of the 2nd ammendment.

I live in a red state and everyone I talk to, even gun store owners, agrees you should know how to safely handle a firearm because it's beneficial to everyone involved.
>>
>>51025658
Yeah, not what I said. Let me try to be more specific. You compared cars to guns, which is an absurd comparison. One of them is a form of transport, essentially a box designed to move people from one place to another. The other is a weapon, designed for the sole intention to injure and/or kill other living beings. To say that the second should be only as well-regulated as the first is ludicrous. Obviously, the second item, a lethal weapon, should have more limits placed on it than a form of transportation.
