Depending on the system, alignment is a perfectly valid thing to consider.

Outside of those systems, some players just like to use it to help define the gist of their characters behavior patterns.

There's nothing wrong with talking about them, even if you don't like them.

Have you considered ever actually roleplaying?

Alignment in D&D has consistently gone in a downward spiral since OD&D.

Every time. If alignment is an issue for you, that only means you are using it wrong.

Alignments are a shit system, not everyone can fall under the 9 categories without blurring into others and as a result the whole system is too gamey and pointless if you want to actually roleplay.

Then his alignment changes to Neutral Good.

Your 'alignment' is not a box that your character must always act within from character creation. Your alignment is based on your actions.

How do you people not understand this? How many decades has DnD been out and people still don't get this shit?

Then the job of the DM, outlined in every edition of the DMG that I'm aware of, is to tell the player to change his alignment to the one he's actually displaying.

This isn't a real problem, dude.

Wait, if his Alignment is CG, but he's acting CN, why would he shift to NG and not CN?

I'm going to assume you made a typo. Perfectly understandable.

Thanks for your input, though I'd love to see you explore that more.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
