Anyone have a better quality pic of the skeleton armour at the bottom?
Looking for living armors, metal golems, medieval robots powered by magitek (instead of steampunk bs) like characters for an incoming mtg game starting on Ravnica. Thanks in advance.
>>51024226
They fought to entertain, not to kill one another. They were given shitty armor and weapons and were taught to wound, but not seriously injure, one another.
It made for a better show.
Anyone have any low level character art? Characters with mostly simple gear. Looking for fighters/knights in particular.

Requesting any art you guys might have of modern day paranormal investigators of any race. Just think like John Constantine spellcasters, but less anglophilic and Alan Moore-ish. Relatively normal people trying to make a buck of catching cheating wives with minotaurs, or tracking down missing dryads that disappeared at Coachella. The average joes of a modern magical world. That, or wizard police.
In the meanwhile, dumping skeleton warriors.

>>51025096
I wouldn't call it shitty armour.
There were different types of gladiators, often loosely based on people the romans had faced in war. These different types were equiped in different ways to make the fights more interesting. To make it fair and sportlike each of these had upsides and downsides, for instance a heavily armoured type would have a short weapon and a helmet with bad vision, while a lightly armoured one would have a longer weapon, such as the retiarius' trident. Ofc, looking faboulus also had an important part in deciding the equipment of each type of gladiator.
>>51018731
That word is a modern invention. The romans made no such distinction in the very few recorded instances of female gladiators. They called them gladiatores mulieres, or gladiator women - mulieres, of course, indicating their low social class, rather than the more proper feminae.
You're not wrong in saying gladiatrix in that it is a term coined by ignorant scholars and stuck. It's just weird in that it's inaccurate to the language while pretending to be accurate.
>>51044582
Was the one that fights with two swords and very little armour on the arms real or was it made up by Spartacus: Blood & Sand?
>>51024213
>>51044646
I'm overwhelmingly certain that it is a made up type. Dual weilding weapons (outside of a dagger -sword combination) is extremely rare as throughout history as it doesn't provide any benefits. The second sword doesn't do much work that a shield couldn't do better.
>>51024213
>>51043945
fekkin' love this pic!
I asked for this in a previous character art thread but I didn't see it (and next time I checked on the thread it was dead and i couldn't find it) so I'm sorry if someone already saw this request and answered it.
I'm looking for pictures of career adventurers. I realize that can mean anything but I mean ones that look like adventurers. People with ropes, backpacks, crowbars, lanterns, nice sturdy pair of boots, those kinds of things.
>>51046244
i have one but we saddly hit image limit, make another thread and i could help a bit
>>51026329
Presumably a Dunmer, aka dark elf from elder scrolls, fire-resistant, fire affinity
>>51047207
Dunmer without a doubt. Beside the file name, she looks like one. She is wielding the Ebony Blade (Skyrim version), and the daedric character oht (also oblivion and oblivion gate) cut into her hair.
>>51044646
>>51044897
They were called Dimachaeri. iirc they were uncommon outside of a certain time frame.
>>51028847
Thank you
>>51044897
>>51049592
True. And the disadvantages of fighting with two weapons don't mean shit in arena fights, since winning with two weapons would mean more honour since it's harder.
>>51044646
>made up
Not made up, however it was in Gladiator with Russell Crowe before Spartacus.
>>51044897
>doesn't provide any benefits
At the risk of starting a speed vs. strength argument, seeing as how they were only half armored, they would be more likely to parry or dodge an attack.
>>51053778
>more honour
It's just as much about being flashy as it is about honor. Working the crowd was important for a gladiator.
>>51020219
Only a homo in denial would like that.
