what do you think of the new spoilers?

i wonder if there will be any interesting instants or sorceries. it's starting to feel like all the power is in creatures now. lots of threats, and minimal answers.

Hello Tribal Staple

Anyway what do you guys thing about the new mechanics Revolt and Improvise? I feel like they are both very abuse-able and will be playable in other formats.
>>
>>50998971
That XB card with improvise looks really good to toy with in a Metallurgic Summoning deck for standard or Frontier
>>
>>50998971
Not sure if slivers can use it...which seems the only one that would like it.
>>
>>50999569
Of course it can, why won't slivers be able to?

In fact, they really benefit from the counters due to their usual small size and the Mimic benefits from the sliver abilities
>>
>>50999670
Because it's competing with other 2-drops and is more vulnerable to removal due to two-types and 2/1 stats.

does this mean i can +1 gideon and tap him for mana? Or do counters in the second part of the card refer to +1/+1 only?
>>
>>50999670
>>50999696
It also is a terrible top deck later in the game. Unlike a traditional Lord or Pump Sliver it doesn't help any of your previously played critters.
>>

the secound ability simply refers to counters so it would work.

This card is fucking garbage, it's not even close to being abusable in the same way something like Phyrexian Dreadnought is.

Crew is inherently an ability that is hard to activate, if you have 6-power worth of shit, why not just attack with that rather than piling it into a single body? It's cute for casual decks that run start your engines, and on face value interacts well with the new 3-mana 6/6 vehicle, but aside from that it's hot garbage.

>Is mtg dying, bros?

We honestly don't know.

It seems like event attendance is down, which is bad for the game. But for several years product sales have been going consistently up, and MTGO saw a lot of growth which complicates things.
>>
So far, something like one in three Rares looks like something I would first pick.
>>
>>51002345
What's the point of having vehicles if all the cool and good ones are uncommon or higher? Freighter is one of the best cards in draft and I'm glad it exists.
>>
>>51002282
I've noticed that SCG's streaming is in pretty rough shape. For a long time now, their numbers have been less than half of what they got a year ago. Their Legacy streams were more popular than Standard has been for quite some time. Not a good sign.
>>
>>51002282

How are we supposed to be be excited when every card discussion can be summed up as "unplayable outside of standard/limited, I guess I could draft it if I was in the colors"

>>
>>51002534
No, but it might replace Terminate. It's not crazy to think this fits in the line >Bolt>Path>This
>>
>>51002282
BfZ was an absurd flop, it's no secret that expeditions were tested there because Wizards new the set was junk.

Kaladesh was also pretty bland, I'm happy with the Revolt spoilers so far, truly feels like a different block based on the power level we've seen already.

I don't think MtG is dying, prereleases are just as large as they've always been, what I think is happening is a junky standard popped up at the same time a lot of people have been dropping Modern and nobody really knows what the big format to play in is right now.
>>
>>51002516
This would be much weaker if fetchlands weren't a thing.
>>
>>51002534
>Dies to bolt
Will be changed for the foreseeable future to
>Dies to push

That's how good this card will be in modern.
>>
>>51002575

But Fetchlands are a thing?
>>
>>51002534
I'm not even convinced it's very good. Bolt is good because it's versatile. The comparable cards that see play are abrupt decay and inquisition of kozi, both are much better. No deck sideboards death mark. No deck plays disfigure.

Screencap to ridicule me.
>>
>>51002534
No way. I do hesitate to call it abrupt decay 5-8 but it kills a LOT of things in modern and legacy, and even more just by saccing a fetch.

There's a reason it's pre-selling for $3 apiece.

Seems to be less than the best. However if green gets card draw maybe the blue one will be a 5 mana draw 3. On an upside for the card, if you have a big enough creature you can draw into something fairly decent to draw off a dud hand.

Also synergises well with the absurdly pushed P/T on vehicles.

It's an uncommon, really shouldn't be selling at $3, it is worth running because it's good. In older formats it can kill cards that are resistant to current removal spells. TKS, goyf, delver, snapcaster etc. that people have mentioned.

Purely revolt enabler. Note that if you have it on the field, you will always revolt since it can always attack and exile itself if there are bigger blockers.
>>
>>51003609
Problem is that it's a 1/1 creature. Putting it on something that dies to a bit less removal might be good.

OH, if you can somehow get Gonti's heart to work out in a deck. This could be the wincon for that deck?

Given that exiting the battlefield matters so much in this set, being at rare isn't surprising.

Or you enchant something that produce servos. It doesn't need to enchant the artifact that you have eight copies of, so you can enchant a gearhulk and you still win with 8 servos.

The reason it's good is because CMC is a very versatile limit on a kill spell. Disfigure kills very few things that are an actual threat. Push kills most of the things Bolt can, and even some it can't, like 3/4 Goyfs (in fact, it kills Goyf no matter how big it is). Revolt is super easy to turn on, too, and it pushes it from "okay" to "bonkers".

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm buying one. I just don't think he'd make that good of a commander because I'm a poorfag and I'd want some cheap wraths. But, he could be spicy with things like the Mazirek trinity. I can just see him archfiend and reaper from the abyss being best friends.

Seems pretty nice in lantern imo. Worth testing.

i think they might have more first turns when they need to cast thoughtseize or ancient stirrings turn 1 than them giving a shit about 1 damage ( when they are likely going to get a second mana source soon enough to cast everything else) or caring about a third color ( remember it's competing with painlands and kaladesh fastlands).

Nothing really. It was meant to be advice delivered in the 4chan manner.

I believe I've been here for too long.

Fact is, having such a poor grasp on foreign languages that you can't recognize one of the most widely spoken ones alongside the likes of English and Spanish makes you look really, REALLY bad. Here it don't matter, but outside anybody who matters would be baffled.

You don't need to be a linguist, but holding your own in something as important as the world of the spoken word is vital. Idiom's aren't just tools, they are whole new ways to structure thought.

Put target nonland permanent on top of its owner's library.
You may cast a card with converted mana cost 2 or less from your hand without paying its mana cost.

So all that's left is the red one. I wonder if that one will be CMC 3.

I don't know, I like it. (Tinker + Myr battlesphere) Enchant the battlesphere holding up counter magic because the entire combo is in blue.

Win.

Little slow, but not out of the question for greatness.

Meh, its not like im going to run into many french speakers here in the states, the only one I ever have was my high school French 101 teacher.

Also it wasn't me who made the mistake, I just thought you blew up at him for no reason. My bad for not making that distinction

I will be very surprised if someone out there doesn't make a Persona altered art version of this. Shame it's such a shit common though.

Normies wouldn't care if someone can't identify a language they have zero knowledge of. Only autists get this upset.

The meta is filled with Control decks as mush as Aggro decks. We literally just got a better removal for 1 mana, a cancel+stifle for 3 mana (Disallow) and we will probably get another boardwipe for 5.

What the fuck do you want?
