Would anyone here want to play a game where you are members of a private detective agency? Starting at level 3 in a metropolis+ (1.2 million population). People would come to you with cases you would investigate and solve. There would be political intrigue with the local blue bloods, bits with organized crime, and more as you see the movements in the great game.

The agency would be based off the Pinkerton Agency, otherwise known as the coolest shit ever.

Plenty of magic to go around, most of it sourced from the amalgamation of every humanoid soul to ever live and die (which is the setting's God, primary source of magic, plane of dreams, and afterlife). The tech, though, primarily works off of Nightmare Crystals and Dream Crystals, the former of which are gathered from deceased Dreaded, while the latter are created in a lab and are relatively new tech. Think a more modern version of Ivalice.

Lore Oracle can use revelations to substatue Charisma for intelligence checks. So you could dump Int if you wanted.

Oracle uses Charisma as the casting stat. Couiper uses Charisma as a primary stat.

YOur Charisma should shore up some of your other areas. Just be sure to max Perception and Use Magic Device and you should be good.

For play starting at level 1, you don't really need to dig into the rulebook much.

Just keep in mind these basic guidelines:

1. Avoid grappling and combat maneuvers until you know what you're doing. They're way too complicated, AND unless you build a character specifically for them, they're usually worse than just attacking normally.

2. Some classes are just plain better or worse than others. Avoid plain fighter or rogue, even if other players recommend them (they're easy to play but generally suck). The tier lists in the link repository in the OP are helpful: the 'sweet spot' is tier 3 classes. If you play a tier 1 or 2 class, make sure to pick up some buff/support powers so the other players feel like you're supporting rather than upstaging them.

3. Since you may end up with a bunch of abilities, figure out your uses of them, and your effects on stats and number changes, ahead of time. Just a general question on AoO.

So I make a reach/trip character. Im using the Polearm Master archetype.

I'll paste the feature description then, so you can look at it when you get around to it.

At 3rd level, a croupier may conjure playing cards as a swift action. These cards are charged
with a chaotic energy that explodes on contact. Throwing a playing card is a ranged attack
that deals force damage + additional damage equal to the croupier’s Charisma bonus. This
extra damage is multiplied on a critical hit. Each time he conjures one, he must draw a card
from a deck of playing cards and look at it. Place all used cards in a discard pile. When the
deck is empty, he shuffles all the cards back into the deck. A conjured card only remains until
the end of the croupier’s turn. A croupier with the Quick Draw feat may conjure his cards
as a free action. A croupier has no limit on the number of cards he may conjure per day. See
Table 6-3: Billiard Weapons for the statistics of a conjured card.
