Are there any pros to using 20th Anniversary over 5e?
If so, which?
It's just preference at this point. For a while, 4th/20th anniversary had way more material, but 5th has mostly caught up now.
No Limits, which are a stupid fucking mechanic. I understand the design role they occupy, but it's an awful implementation created by people with no understanding of fun.

Is there a way to reconcile 4e's optional use of mental status for hacking, with still needing programs, without making them limits?
While also still making Technica certain threading useful?
It's quite specific problem, but one that's been tormenting me and stopping me from running another 4e game.

But why would someone prefer 4e over 5e?

Because it doesn't have Limits, weird wireless bonuses that only exist for meta reasons, and other such differences. At this point, 5th has been out long enough that most people still playing 4 are people who were already playing it and didn't like 5, but the differences between editions are just that, differences. 5th didn't strictly improve anything, just changed it. Some people like the changes, some don't. It's preference only.
